Anyone else get "all choked up" at WDW?

Without fail, I get choked up as I enter the park and see the castle at the end of Main Street

I also cry whenever I see one of the characters pay extra attention to an excited child, especially a special needs child.

I cry at Fantasmic when the boat goes by with all the characters.

I fill up when I see Snow White :confused3

But the strangest thing is....I cry like a baby when I hear the theme to the Electric Light Parade. I think this makes me cry because of the memories it conjures up (past wonderful Disney trips).

We have a Disney Cruise planned, and I've heard files of the ship's horn playing "When you wish upon a star". Yup, makes me cry ::MinnieMo I'm sure I'll be crying when I hear it in person.

It's to the point where I have to buy CoverGirl Marathon Mascara before each trip to ensure I won't walk around with raccoon eyes. You just about need an electric sander to take that stuff off!

Now, I can't be the only one who becomes an emotional mess at Disney

What, if anything, makes you emotional during your visit??

On my daughter's 4 birthday we went to DL. Prince Charming was walking back to "cast members only" and he saw Sarah's birthday button. He stopped, picked her up, gave her a hug, set her down and wished a wonderful birthday... he spent way more time than any other cast member did...I was crying like a baby! She was soooooo happy, giddy, the rest of the day! Makes me teary just thinking about it...

I think that's what gets me the most...with all the complaints about how expensive it is you just can't put a price on that feeling!!

:earsboy:

It happens to me, much like many others, when they first walk into the Magic Kingdom and see Cinderella's Castle for the first time on their vacation.

I also got choked up once when I ate at Chef Mickey's for the first time and Mickey came over to my table. I was so wrapped up in the moment, that I simply lost all control of my emotions and tears of happiness began flowing. Kind of embarassing, but I was around a bunch of strangers, so it really didn't matter.

I SO agree with you. Where else in this world can you get that incredibly wonderful feeling?? Definitely worth every penny!

Lets just say that I pack the waterproof mascarra when we go.

I warned DH when we went for the first time, actually that's not true, my mom told him she's just going to start to cry in the weirdest places and its true.

So here are some of the things that get me.. Ok first of all, all the things that make everyone else cry that I just read tear me up.

When I see the commerical with Walt with the clip of the original Disneyland dedication ceremony I get a bit teary.

When I see the castle for the first time, I litterally sit down on a bench and just think how lucky I am to be here again and cry a little.

Spectro Magic gets me everytime. Character interactions with kids that are cute too.

Ok I got to go get a tissue.

No, I'm a grown up and I never cry.....

Ok, this is really me during Wishes  but don't tell anyone.

When we see the welcome sign.

When we enter the castle.

When we leave the caste for the last time, especially if we don't know when we will be back.

The last time we leave Fantasmic, the tears will start rolling down.

When I read this thread.

Stop it, all of you! I leave in 3 hours for WDW and I usually don't cry until I get there! Now you all have me boo-hooing already!

Wishes is the big thing for me. We've only seen it once (last Christmas) and we bought the CD. When my DD7 can't sleep or is worried about monsters under the bed, she listens to the CD and goes right to sleep. It makes me tear up every time!

LOL so glad I'm not alone. Heck, I even teared up just reading some of your posts!! Fantasmic does it, Wishes, Illuminations. Even the Osborne lights the first time I saw them, and the first time we turned into the driveway to the Dolphin(after only staying at value resorts). I'm such a weenie!!!

Almost forgot -- DD 2, doesn't remember her first trip to WDW, so we've been telling her all the neat things she'll get to see. Couple months ago we took her to the Disney store. Mickey Mouse was in the window, and she just pointed and absolutely gushed, "Mee Mowse! Mee Mowse!" DH and I both teared up, and I know it was because we were both imagining how ecstatic she'll be when she sees the real thing soon!!

We also have two tear-jerker moments of DS (now 11) on video when he was about 3. He turned the corner near The Chapeau on Main St, and saw the castle for the first time. You can hear him gasp on the video, then he says, "It's the castle!" like he didn't really think it was real. Same trip, when we round the bend in A Small World (his very first ride) and he glimpses inside, his whole face just lights up into a huge grin. I LOVE that and still tear up when I watch it!

First I'll say that I get emotional at a lot of things in WDW but I think the only time I've actually just bawled was last Feb. during Wishes when DH and I were sitting with our DD (3 and 18 months at the time). We worked really hard to save up for our trip. The years before our trip DH went throgh thyroid cancer and surgeries to deal with that and I had a surprise pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage. WDW trip was a symbol of a "new start" for us and during Wishes it just hit me how truly blessed by God we were to have made it through our struggles and still being "allowed" to enjoy our family and each other. DH looked at me right at the beginning, smiled at me, and put his arm around me and we sat there the four of us and I just bawled...tearing up as I remember it. The Wishes music (especially the part where the little girl sings) just gets me every time and from now on Wishes will continue to have that affect on me as a reminder of no matter how things are going in the rest of the world, if we are bless enough to be at WDW, then life is good...no matter how "bad" it can be.... :goodvibes

Okay, now I'm bawling. What a beautiful post. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

My DSIL My DSIL does when she sees the trolley singers on Main Street USA.

It's cute & somewhat comical too.

Someone posted a link to a video of the Kiss Goodnight the other day and I watched it when I got home. DH came in the computer room to find me sitting there with tears running down my face.

I was the OP for the "Kiss Goodnight" I, too, cried like a baby while watching that video and I'm hoping to get to see it in person on our next trip.

The Commercial w/ Walt Disney @ Disneyland on Opening Day gets me all teary.

We saw WISHES for the first time the night before our wedding...oh, how the tears came. I ALWAYS cry at WISHES!!!

I get excitedly teary when pulling into the WDW main gates and completely lose it when we pull up to the Grand Floridian. The bell services guys look at me like I am a NUT!!!

It's a moment I will never ever forget. One of those moments where time stood still and my mind took a picture.

Same as many of you:

Seeing the castle
Opening show at MK
Wishes
Illuminations
Lion King

Last year we went at Christmas for the first time and although I had already cried at Illuminations, when they began the special "Let There Be Peace on Earth", I came unglued.

Watching my youngest son at any/all parades. Knowing that in his little mind, he thinks they are all there just for him and they are all waving at him. It may sound crazy, but just looking at his little hand waving makes me tear up.

DH thinks I'm silly to cry so much at The Happiest Place on Earth, but I'll let him read this thread so he'll know I'm not the only one!

Everything chokes me up at WDW.
We went to Fanstasmic last year, first time. I especially get choked up when I hear, "Someday My Prince Will Come". So I did when the boat came out with Snow White. I looked over at my prince of 19 years, aka "Grumpy Spouse, eyeroller of everything Disney", and he was tearing up. Go figure....

I definately teared up at the opening show at the MK, first seeing the castle from mainstreet, and we saved wishes for our last night, thinking it would be a great ending to our trip, and it sure was but, boy was I a mess  .

For some reason the kodak movie they play as you are waiting to go into honey I shrunk the audience at epcot makes me cry , I don't know why...but i also cry at the parade..any parade at disney makes me cry. My dad cries when he gets to mgm and rounds the corner to tot..
