Anyone else get "all choked up" at WDW?

Last June, our first family trip, my DD 5 cried the entire way back to CSR on the bus the last evening. She just didn't want to leave. She even had a lady who was sitting by her tearing up to see her so emotional.

My first time back to WDW was many years after my first two trips. I was a very small child the first two times. I had waited so many years to go again and this time I had my four kids with me. The silent tears started the moment I saw the welcoming arches on the way in. My kids weren't anywhere as excited or emotional as I was! Now that my two youngest are totally Disneyfied like me, they are excited to arrive!

So many of the things you all have mentioned make me cry as well! I always tear up at the opening of MK--I have the opening song on a CD, and I cry every time it comes on in the car, too! :earsgirl:

Also, the Tarzan Rocks show in AK makes me cry every time, too! I am so mad that they are taking it away--it is one of our favorites!

The music on the Kilimanjaro Safari makes me tear up, too--to me that is the most peaceful place in all of WDW!

I agree with many of the tear triggers. Just thinking about all the memories, the whimsical fantasy of it all...ahh, I love Disney!

Even though I don't have kids (yet...know any single, sweet guys?), my sisters are almost 16 years younger, so my motherly instincts have been activated. When I see them get excited about anything during the trip, which is often, I start to choke. My mother and I share a knowing smile through the tears, and my dad just shakes his head and laughs. He can't fool us though, I've caught him get a little misty too! ;)

The opening ceremony at MK totally sets me off. We visited WDW with my dad -- our last vacation together before he passed away. He had so much fun with the kids and grandkids at WDW. It all makes me miss him more, but it also makes me cherish every moment I have with my family now. I'm so glad we were all able to experience Disney together. We have some great memories to hold on to!

I get a little teary at Wishes, Illuminations, FotLK, opening ceremony at MK too. The worst I ever got was on our 2002 trip we were in Toontown and decided to go in and tell Mickey that we'd had a great time and hoped to see him again soon. My granddaughter 7yo gave him a hug and thanked him for the good time, then I suddenly had to go hug him myself. I just started balling and couldn't say anything! He made the kissing sound at me! LOL

I guess there are quite a few of us. Disney is so special to us and just having the incredible opportunity of being able to go back again and again is enough to make me choke.

For me my worst ones are the morning celebration at Mk, Wishes, Spetromagic(especially when it starts) and The Lion King show at Ak...the part where they sing the circle of life.

But the worst one is the pre-show for Honey I shrunk the audience. The one where the little boy loses his dog....My eyes are watery just thinking about it.

Every single trip. Be it a view of the castle, arriving at the resort, seeing a special needs child get special attention or just something as simple as a parade.

i'm such a weenie that i'm crying just reading why you all cry!!!

Wishes...omg...that should be outlawed...I'm crying just thinking about it (ok ok I deliver tomorrow so i guess i'm allowed to be emotional..lol)

Seeing my daughter go crazy over a princess, and looking at the castle for the first time during our trip...takes my breath away... :teeth:

I get all gooey when I see my childrens faces, when we first get to th MK, and it brings me back to my childhood and how I felt when we were at the MK. :flower:

drizzo 67 I know exactly what you mean...while I was reading this I was thinking of my dad and his face when illuminations started it was full of excitement and wonder and he did look like a little boy I will have that look in my brain for the rest of my life..and to jackie I felt the same way a few yrs ago when my ds was a teenager and thought it was torture to come with us to disney that year...my dd is 13 now so I know that is coming with her..but dd has a new baby now..so we are bringing her this yr...starting something new...I can't wait to see her face at the fireworks and the parade..it will be like seeing it for the first time.. I have a picture of my brother holding his dd who was 3 they are watching the dream come true parade and they are sitting and i caught them from the side view and he is kissing the top of her head and a big tear is rolling down his cheek....so cute. REALLY WHAT IS IT ABOUT DISNEY THAT MAKES US LIKE ADDICTS...I AM NOT LIKE THIS ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE IN LIFFE....DISNEY MAKES ME CRAZY

I am a MAJOR weenie about everything...I cry over anything...LOL
I am so glad to see that I'm not the only one, and by the way, thanks for the mascara rec!!!

Oh JOJOMG I have been asking myself that same question for sooooo long and can't come up with anything other than the MAGIC has a real hold on us! The feeling of escaping everyday life and being in a "happy" place is such a warm feeling! :grouphug: Your story about your brother gave me such a visual! I could cry! We are sooo excited to take our baby in September. She will be 9 months YOUNG I know but I am such a disney fan that I will be there each year so it's NEVER a waste! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I'm sure it's the same with many others:

When my children "turn the corner" on Main St. and my two children gawk at the castle in disbelief. In fact, I'm welling up right now. I'm a sap when it comes to my kids.

OH STOP! YOU'RE KILLING ME!!!! I had to get up from my desk to go get a tissue! I gotta stop reading this at work!

Hearing "When You Wish Upon A Star" and "Wishes" really does it for me. :earboy2: It gets pretty soggy when I hear that playing on one of my Disney CD's.

I also love walking through the train station and straight into the Emporium. I just love that place! :flower:

When I was at Mickey's Philharmagic for the first time.....as I was singing along to the songs, I felt something welling up inside of me.....that feeling was so magical. :goodvibes

Illuminations gets me every time, Share a Dream Come True Parade, Wishes, and the pre-show to Honey I Shrunk the Audience  ! Needless to say, my family thinks I'm hysterical :rotfl: .

I have not been fortunate enough to catch the opening at MK (all these years I have been going) never saw it. Does anyone know which CD the opening song is on? Someone mentioned in this thread they have it on CD, I would like to purchase it.

Thanks
