Anyone eaten at the character dinners at hotels?

I am wondering what the character dinners are like at the onsite Universal hotels....can anyone tell me what they are like. Thanks!

We ate at The Kitchen at the HRH with Scooby it was great fun, last year. Lovely fod and good interaction !

We ate at the Trattoria in PBH with Woody and Scooby. Its not like WDW at all. There were no people! We had Scooby to ourselves for a very long time.
We also ate Thankgiving Dinner at the Kitchen with Shrek and received a lot of attention.
