Anyone eat Lara Bar?

Just wondering if anyone eats lara bars? What do you think about them?

I don't eat them all the time but as far as snack bars go they are one of the best. They taste good and don't have a bunch of added crap. I think most if not all are 100% fruit and nuts.

Was there anything in particular you were looking to find out?

I used to, but for some reason my taste buds just don't like 'em. I try to stick to Trader Joe's fruit bars.

I LOVE them! I live with a 5 year old who has severe food allergies (wheat, egg, dairy, soy) so we can't have any of that stuff in the house. We have tried many bars and snacks that are free from all of those things and believe me they are the BEST! They have pretty good protein levels and come in a variety of flavors - apple pie and banana are our faves - they are awesome to take on the go for a healthy fulfilling snack.

PS if you haven't figure out already I am a fan of these bars! :lmao:

LOVE them! Great snack, all natural ingredients. The gingerbread one is really tasty, like pretty much all of them. I teach at preschool and keep one in my purse for an afterschool/work snack. Also makes a great breakfast on the go. They are filling.

Yep. Love em. Before having to go g-f I ate a lot of Luna bars, so they were a big adjustment at first, but I love them now. They are a perfect g-f emergency food when traveling.:goodvibes

I just wanted to try something different that is not totally bad for you. I've read some things about them from random websites, however I trust all of you guys a lot more than random posters at those sites. They sound good but wanted to check first before I made a purchase.

There is one other thing I was wondering, how is the texture of the bars? Are they like trail mix bars or are they more along the lines of the Marathon bar (by Snickers I think)?

Thanks for all the input!

Tim

I think they're delicious! Cherry Pie is my favorite, and PB&J tastes just like a sandwich.

I haven't had the marathon snickers bar so I can't really say anything about that, but they are nothing like trail mix bars. The texture is kinda hard to explain, but I will give it a go... They are sort of like mashed up stuff put together - they are mainly smooth and chewy (ish) but there is the occasional nut in there too. Okay, so that was not the best description ever! It sounds kinda gross, but I swear they are not :)

Mmmmm... those are my 2 favorite flavors, too!

They are hard to explain... definitely not as "chunky" as a trail mix bar, but they do have more chunks of things than some other bars do.

Also, delicious. :goodvibes

Yum! I tried these for the first time during WDW marathon weekend and I now purchase them frequently. The consistency reminds me of the filling in a Fig Newton with bits of nuts thrown in. If you're accustomed to more processed foods, the visual appeal is slim to none when you open the wrapper. But they taste great!

They are hard to explain but not like a trail mix bar. They are kind of like a chunky paste that has been allowed to harden but not to the point of being brittle.

Men's Health gave them the award for being the healthiest snack bar at one point. I do like them but my snack bar of choice is usually a Cliff Bar.

So I bought a few lara bars this morning and have tried the chocolate chip cookie dough bar. I thought it was pretty good. It is different but very good. Can't wait to try the others.

I love the Cashew Cookie lara bar. I first heard about them while watching "The Biggest Loser." Jillian Michaels suggested them to her team as a healthy alternative, with no artificial colors, flavors. They are also gluten free and dairy free. I usually eat one for breakfast. I have tried a few, but the Cashew Cookie is my favorite.
