Hi there,

Just got back from the magic yesterday, and while we were there DD aged 10 asked a UK Epcot CM about working there. She gave DD some advice and told us to look on the WDW website as well as yummyjobs.com.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has done this and has any pros and cons on it - is it really as good as it sounds? Or is it too good to be true? I know I wish I was 18 and single with no responsibilities coz I'd be off there in a shot!!! LOL! This kind of comment worries my family a lot!

Cheers,

Lynn :flower:

Yes my son did it, and had a wonderful time. You work only in the UK pavilion, and are offered either food and beverages or merchandise. Disney provide you with very good accomodation and the rent is deducted from your weekly pay cheque. You live in shared places, and part of the experience is living together with other nationalities. Simon now has a Canadian girlfriend who he met out there also on the programme, and they both have a very good Norwegian friend who was Simon's fellow flatmate. It is lovely that they keep in touch, and he has stayed with them in the UK. They all enjoyed living the Disney life ( Simon stayed 14 months ) although that is longer than the usual contract. I think that they would return in an instant, but I don't think that it can be repeated.

My DD is 14 and has told us that she is going to work on The Disney Cruise ships, she has to wait til she's 21, so she is hoping to work in WDW when she is 18 for experience. She seems very focused on this idea and has been talking about it for about a year. It must be great (though hard work) combining work and Disney.

my son tony stayed and worked in epcot for just over a year and had the time of his life. he obtained lots of info from the above site..try it out :wave2:

Thanks guys, it does sound fantastic, and I would love DD to experience it before she hits the world of uni/work/family/responsibilities and might not get the chance again.

This has given us lots to thinks about and look at.

Cheers

Lynn
