I am considering HHI. The price after initial use year buyback is $65 pp. I've seen some resales at that same price. With a resale, you pay closing costs. So I figure unless I can get them below $60, I should buy through Disney. Any one seen or heards of points for sale for less than $60?

I say go through Disney. closing is much more for HHI. A 100 point resale contract costs $650.00 to close at HHI. A FL resale will cost 375-400ish for closing costs.

Hope it helps!

I agree. Buy at Disney, I have been looking since June, and no prices below $65\pt. Go through Disney and look at the Magical B. program. It buys back points at $10, which I am considering. It brings the points down to $65\pt, and no closing costs for me! I am very close to adding on at HHI, and have been looking at costs. If I buy, it will be through Disney. Their rates are not bad either, 11.5% for 20% down and direct debit. Their rates in June were 12.5%, and 13.5%. The rates I quote are for 5,7,and 10 years through Disney. So, they have come down, although it is still high, a home equity loan would be better, but I am not going to do that, would never think of it!
Good luck in your decision, HHI is great!

We recently bought a resale at HH through Jaki Aptez @ A Timeshare.
Closing costs on 250 pts $300 and $75 to record. We did not get title insurance which raises closing costs.
Check with Jaki if she has any resales right now that are in your price range. When we bought she had a couple that were not posted on web site.

I bought a resale for HHI through a timeshare reseller for $60/pt this past May. With closing costs it came out to ~$62/pt. I had full use of my points starting with my use-year, which is August. As an unexpected bonus, I was "given" the leftover points from 2000 for no charge or fees at all. That was another 139 points, 75 of which I was able to bank. I immediately booked a week at HHI and returned today from one of the best vacations we have ever taken.

I was so excited to buy these points at a great discount, that I bought another timeshare on ebay for OKW last month. 210 points for about $62 or $63/pt. The seller paid all the closing costs. My only additional expense was the $75 transfer fee. I immediately banked all 210 points for next year, which should cover a Disney cruise in 2002. If 420 is not enough, I have the HHI contract to cover the difference. I would probably borrow from the OKW contract rather than use the HHI points, because I plan on being a regular at HHI. What a great place HHI! The CM's are ALL incredibly nice and helpful.

So someone please explain to me what was wrong with my thinking and/or actions.
