Just wondering about the pool rehab at ssr. How is it effecting the pool activities, etc. There was someone who posted on an another thread and said he would be at SSR soon and would post something. Don't know if I missed it somewhere or if he is actually having FUN on his trip and not thinking of these boards!:lmao: As you can see we will be there SOON!

I am at SSR now, but leaving in 3 hours. The pool rehab is underway. Most of the pool activities, such as the 2:30 pool games and 8:00 movies are being held at the Grandstand pool. Other activities such as the 4:00 games with the lifeguards are being split between the Congress Park and Paddock pools.

Have a great trip!!

C arol is correct and we are at Congress park and I have to say that yesterday, if you arrived around the pool anytime after 3pm, there were no chairs!

Haven't made it to Grandstand as of yet - my gosh this place is huge and we are with a grandma who cannot walk that far so it is a challenge.

Activities like pooliside movies etc are at Grandstand. It is most likely packed over there. Everything around the main pool is closed - bar, hot tub.....you cannot walk anywhere down on that level.

We went to HS yesterday and in my opinion it was BUSY! Got there for rope drop and did TSM, RnRC, ToT, GMR but then it was so hot we decided to get out and come back later - MISTAKE! Should have fastpassed a bunch of stuff before we left to use later! We could not ride anything after 7pm without a 60 minute wait (except Star Tours and GMR). And the shows all stop at around 6pm (except American Idol finale at 7pm).

DTD is busy also so I am thinking the crowds are just geering up!

But the weather is AMAZING - hot and sunny until at least next Wed and then only chance of showers - even for Florida residents it is HOT!

SSR is absolutely beautiful - surpassed any of my expectations! We love it here!

here at Congress Park also, crowd at pool picked up since last week when we were here , no chairs and towels everywhere...we walk by Grandstand on way home from parks and it has been very crowded with games going on...seems like they moved alot of the activities over there from main pool.
Pool closed Monday and so far only the water has been drained...we have only seen 2 workers drilling in the pool??????? but no other work unless they are doing it in the middle of the night.
There have been only Fantasmics on Wed and Thurs nights(but they have had 2 shows) and left the rides open, so that should bring crowds there on those days/nights and MK closed at 8. We only went to Epcot late last night and it did not seem bad except for the food court that was crowded with kids on schools trips that must have met there to eat. Should get worse as more Spring Breakers arrive...

o wow.. sounds like we will be in store for lots of lines by the time we get there Wednesday night, with the rain:charac2:!! Oh but its only 35 here in NW Indiana so I guess I will not complain. Actually we won't start visiting the parks until probably Friday. Wonder if I should reconsider our request to be by Grandstand if all the activity will be there .. and the noise?? Since we have never been to SSR I have no idea what to expect. All I know is I CAN'T WAIT!!!:woohoo:

Hi if you have kids I would think Grand Stand would be better for you...they have lots more lounges and umbrellas too and I think the pool is bigger. but of course that is up to you. feel free to ask questions and i will answer if I can. Carol:goodvibes

makes sense.. we won't really be in the room much so I guess the noise thing shouldn't be much of a factor. Heck if we can stay at Pop during those cheerleading days we can handle anything, right?! Plus I read that its the first bus stop so that is a plus imo. Now just hoping when we check in around MIDNIGHT our request will be availabe.

Here is another strange question. Usually when we stayed at value resorts they allow us to use our room card as a credit card except the maximum balance you can put on at a time is real minimum (like $200 or something). Then you have to go to the front desk to start again. Is that the same for SSR or do they let you accumulate more at a time? I know its not due to our credit. I am assuming its just in case your lose your card or something.:confused3

I think they've always done ours at $1500 or something like that but we've always stayed at moderates or DVC. Not sure if it matters but I know they hit our for that every time we've ever done it which is every time.

Our limit has always been set at $1500. We wouldn't make it very far with $200.

Hi Disneyfourme:thumbsup2 Nothing to add to post but we are also in NW IN & leave on Tues:banana: Have a great trip:thumbsup2

O my dh husband will be soooo happy as that became a real problem for HIM to keep going back to the front desk!! At least with that amount you could go a day or two!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Each resort catagory (value, moderate and deluxe (which DVC resorts are considered) have their own spending limits.

Quick question regarding the quiet pools - do they provide pool towels like the main pools? We'll be there in 6 days and are trying to figure out how we could lighten our suitcases, but we want to make sure we have towels.

Thanks!
