Anybody have info on Black Friday sales yet?

I don't know what rock I've been under; for many years it's been my family's tradition to walk around the mall the day after Thanksgiving and soak in the Christmas craziness, but NEVER till today did I hear that day being called "Black Friday"!

Thank you to everyone who has posted lists and links.

Let me tell you about last year's Wal Mart black Friday experience. They offered a digital camera with 4MP for 159 which was unheard of. I went to the store since it was a 24 hr store I was able to get in at 5:55. I ran right to the cameras and there were some ahead of me but when I asked they said the cameras were gone. I asked how many they had gotten in and the clerk was really nasty. She said 10 and we do not make the ad it comes from Bettonville. Wrong person to do that to. I worked in retail for 15 years and know the customer if not always right is at least entitled to some courtesy. I go to the front and ask for the manager. He calls down and I tell him that his inventory to low for anticpated sales and that if they could not at least have given a minimum number on the sale circular then they should offer a substitute. He says he will get more in and I will get one. Stupidly he thinks I will let it go. Wrong again. I call and speak to his assistant after a weeks time and tell her that 10 cameras is way to few to advertise for a big sale. She gives me grief too. I fianlly get the manager after a couple of days and he keeps telling me they will come in. Finally he says come in on sat and he will give them to me. I get there (1 hour drive) and guess what no camera and a ration of grief from manager. I call the customer service line and explain my problem. Suddenly I get a call from the same manager on the phone telling me he has not got the cameras but he will substitue(three days before Christmas). Attempting to be my best buddy. I go and he substitues two cameras worth double the price of the one offered. I still wrote Wal Mart a letter stating that at the very least they could print a minimum number of the items they have in stock so customers could decide if it were worthwhile to even try. I do not care what anyone says I KNOW they had sold the product before it was supposed to go on sale and that is why they gave me such a good substitute. This was a huge super store no way did anyone in their right mind send in 10 cameras to this store. In addtion I checked with the clerk in the conventional Wal Mart and they told me that they had received 100!!

I'm so glad to find this thread. I'm making my Black Friday plans and I'm looking forward to seeing the lists in advance.

I'm also interested in online sales for Black Friday. If anyone hears more about them, please let me know. I didn't realize until this year that many sites offer specials that day. I do most of my holiday shopping through the computer, and I'm putting off buying a few items in the hope that I can get them on sale that day.

Ummm.. I know the Walmart ad is incomplete and there are somethings Im thinkin are wrong but Ill hafta check tomorrow.. (atleast for the toy section)

The walmart ad is divided into 2 sections, special buys for the 6-11 sale which are different products/quanitys/colors/styles than our normal products. then there is the on sale all week which some have good prices- others are our reg prices its hit and miss.

We are starting to get a ton of stuff in and some I think will be good sellers others Im not so sure of...

oh and the day after thanksgiving is known as Blitz at Walmart :)

I can tell you last year that Best Buy did offer some of the same sales online than they did in person. For example, they offered free shipping on anything. They had Xbox games for $14.99 and free ship (same price as in Black friday mailer).

I got up early (as in all Black Fridays), whipped online scrounging for codes, (coupon codes), and found this. Ordered my BF list for Best Buy without having to stand there at 4 am!

I'm looking for several video games. I'd love to order them online. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I was there this past Saturday, and the video games (Xbox) were already on SALE!!!!

Yes, there were $9.99, $14.99, and $19.99 games then. I could also go to Target and get a different selectrion of games for $15. Personally I liked Targets selection better.

If anyone knows about Gameboys(not those new $100 editions just regular GBA) going on sale PLEASE PLEASE let me know! I have to buy several and money is REALLY tight this year and so I would love it if I could get a great price.
Thanks so much :earsgirl:

The regular GBA's have been seen for either $49 or $59 somewhere... Right now they are at Target for $69, and I think Kmart has them for $59

We've been fortunate I guess. We usually hit Walmart as our second store-- and they always seem to have a ton of their "special items" left. Also last year, I took the toys from Walmarts ad and got them at Toys r us-- nobody was knocking each other over to get these. Then I took the KB and Toys r us ad and got those things at Walmart. Once again-- no mad rush to those items. Anyhow, I didn't have a problem at either store. They were way too busy to to call other stores. I got exactly what they ad said, but for the most part they were too busy to really care. We always start off at one store at opening. However, the last 2 years there have been literal fights at the store openings. So, DH and I are going to arrive at our first destination at 6:30 (most stores around here will open at 6:00 am). I am really hoping Walmart or someone has a good deal on a cheap camcorder. That is what DS (10) really wants. I don't want to spend a lot for one he'll be using.

I'll check yesterday's ads for the computer and PS2 games I need. Thanks for the tip.

Here's one at Circuit City - it's cheap, but I can't guarantee how good.

Just wanted to let everyone know that most Disney stores are opening early on friday. The one in our mall ( Burlington, MA) will be open at 5am. There are some friday only deals, like princess dolls 7.99 ( normally 16.50) and the sleeping beauty castle 19.99 ( 39.99). Don't know about any others right now.pirate:

I got emails from both Circuit City and Sears stating that they have on-line sales on thanksgiving day..steep discounts said to check their web site on Thursday.

sounds like they are trying to get the jump on Black Friday..

KMart has them for 49.99 on Thanksgiving Day. Keep in mind that this is only on Thursday-not on Black Friday.
