Anybody have info on Black Friday sales yet?

I have done it every year since having my children. It allowed me to spread my money further and therefore they got more toys for Christmas. Now that they are getting older and no longer play with toys but ask for more expensive “toys” like MP3 players, camcorders and laptops, I still do it, but instead of standing at KB Toys at 4:00 am I’m at Best Buy at 4:00 am! I still can get great deals and get most of my shopping done in one morning! Afterwards my friend and I meet for a big breakfast and enjoy each others company while people watching. I love that day, and look forward to it every year!

I think I am going to skip toys r us and go straight to wal mart. They are going to have alot more this year than last year. I can't wait!! Same here Cindy. Perhaps it has to do with the age of our children. Our youngest is 10 1/2 and unfortunately, we are just about out of toys - even the video game stuff since none of kids (we have 4 girls and 2 are basically adult - 20 and 23) are THAT into them.

I guess electronics is where we will save our money if the sales cooperate.

Our kids are 9-15, so we are moving more and more into the "electronic" stages of childhood. I was playing with the idea of a computer for the oldest 2 girls to share, and we have purchased the wal-mart "day after turkey day" special in the past with great results(but I like HP computers). I was also able to get a kodak digital camera a few years ago at the BF sale, and have been pleased with it, but it was $200 a few years ago, not $100 like this year. And we always wait on tv/vcr/dvd purchases until the day after Thanksgiving. I appreciate the posters of the store ads doing so...it helps me plan my strategy! Thank you DIS!

So far the only thing that has really caught my eye is the GameCube Zelda bundle from Wal Mart. I was planning to get GameCube for my 10 year old anyway. The only problem is that "Wal Marters" line up much earlier than some of the other stores around here. I don't mind standing in the cold for an hour or two, but I don't know about three or four!
