Any Wii's out there??????

Although I have not really waited in line (only for 10 mins at BestBuy 2 weekends ago), I've already told DD12 and DS8 that we probably won't be able to find one before Christmas. DD12 fully understands, DS8 not quite but agrees that they will get one around March or April for their birthdays instead.

Now that I've decided not to hunt anymore, I can actually focus on work, call my friends and family that wonder why I've been on the phone and not with them, can get my other shopping done, wrap gifts, help with homework, clean my house, do my laundry perhaps even do holiday cards and bake some cookies! (Oh yeah! and plan our WDW trip! I've gotten totally sidetracked!)
It's quite liberating actually!
I still will be wondering what store is getting what when...... hmmm...

Does that bundle include the wii system? I just looked at the Gamestop site and I don't see any wii bundles. I clicked on Nintendo Wii at the top. Did you search for anything specific?

I did a search for "wii console" and "wii bundle" and couldnt' find it anymore.

you really shouldnt give up, there will 100% be some before xmas. Its not close enough to xmas yet to give up, they will be delivering upto xmas eve. pfft. u really gonna give up this easy? "think of the children... oh wont somebody just think of the children?"

From what I can tell, Nintendo has been planning to do 3 releases of the Wii: The first one was "launch" weekend, last month. The second came this past week, with TRU, Target, CC, etc. having units in stock (B&M) and several reports of online stores showing brief availability on Tues/Wed. The third is set to come on December 17, when the Wii is supposedly going to be in the Sunday ad once again. This information comes from several of the bargain message boards (SlickDeals, FatWallet, etc) and Wii tracking sites.

I have no idea if that means the stores are holding stock for next week, or what. My experiences dealing with store people have been non-productive, at best. I'm not sure what that means for online availability before Christmas, either.

When I was waiting at Gamestop yesterday the District Manager came into the store and he and the store manager both said that they did not expect to have more Wii's until the 17th. That is a Sunday - so I assume that there will be an ad, because they also said that they do not get deliveries on weekends. I am not guaranteeing that this is a fact, but they may be holding anything they get this week for next Sunday. Looks like that is going to be the day to get in line!

I was in Circuit City on Thursday, when I found the PS3 and he said they have been getting trucks Tues, Thurs and Sats. He did not say they would not get more until the 17th, he told me to call on Saturday afternoon to see if they got any, and they would tell me how many they would have for Sunday morning. He was a manager and was very nice. I'm going to call this afternoon and see what they have to say.

It's really that I'm not giving up that easy....I have spent countless hours working on this...I feel like my priorites were shifting in a way that didn't work for our family. Believe me, I struggled because I want to give my DS that big WOW gift under the tree that he so wants. We are also giving our kids a trip to WDW in January and he will get other gifts from other family members.
I am thinking of them in the fact that I need to be spending time with them doing things like baking cookies that my girls have begged me to do but between work and other responsibilities haven't had time due to SEARCHING!!
We also have my mom's 80th birthday the week before Christmas and that is also taking time. Don't get me wrong...if I happen upon it, I will for sure get it, just refuse to one more time wake up at 4:00 in the morning in the freezing cold to come just oh so close one too many times. He will get it, it is just a matter of when.

They are not in anyone's Sunday flier. Anyone know what's going on with TRU online? They keep changing what consoles they have "temporarily not available." Right now, they have the console by itself. That's new. So either they had some and sold out or are setting up for later.

I noticed Walmart has the same thing happening.. it went from 8 games, to 4 games, the the 4 game bundle changed prices yesterday.

This whole thread has my head spinning. Tues, Wednesday, fliers, pre-release, bundles, lining up. My brother just told me that his son wants a Wii from our side of the family. I told him, 'fat chance!" My nephew is getting cash from me. HE can stand in lines, bite his nails over store ads and decide which "bundle" he actually wants. He's 16 and has nothing but time and energy. thank goodness!

DH was in Rhino games last night - was told if any came in they'd be put out after the store closed - he called at 10 this morning - was told "Yeah, we got 3 last night, put them out and they were sold immediately".

My brother accused me of being on crack after I said 1) that I would find a Wii before Christmas and 2) that I would sleep at Best Buy if I had to.

Truthfully, 3) I think I probably wouldn't really sleep in the parking lot of BB. Sketchy neighborhood and no bathrooms. Plus, last time they didn't hand out tickets and fist fights broke out when people ran in at the last minute and got the goods in front of the line dwellers.

According to another site, Circuit City, Toys R Us and Target all have Wii advertised on Dec 17 (Don't know about Best Buy yet)
Circuit City will have a minimum of 20 per store
Toys R Us will have: Nintendo Wii and Marvel Ultimate Alliance for 279.98

Don't give up hope.

Sunday's seem to be Best Buy's big day when they decide to put them out. That's how I got one the week after launch. But calling them when they open is useless - you need to be there, and if others are there you need to be there an hour early because that's when Best Buy's give out tickets if they feel they have to. I wouldn't expect a large number of them unless another ad comes out before Xmas, but I really think that is the best chance.

I'm sorry people are having to turn to eBay. It really stinks that people are forced into that, because it just feeds the vicious cycle of why you can't get one in the first place. Don't buy accessories that way - those WILL be everywhere soon, and by feeding the resellers you just will keep them off the shelves longer. You can play Wii Sports just fine with one controller (you just can't do multiplayer on baseball or boxing, but you CAN have multiple players on the other games).

All that said, there are DEFINATELY going to be more on the shelves before Christmas. But calling around isn't going to help much - it's just going to frustrate you really. If they've got them, then they are going to be gone by the time you get there.
