Any Wii's out there??????

Well, my husband has the alarm set for 7am, but our Circuit City says they are only getting 15. Bummer!!! Doesn't sound like our chances are too good!!! :sad2:

I was wondering, does anyone know if you can do the 24 minute in-store delivery thing with Circuit City and circumvent the lines?

Can you explain how this works?

The way I understand it is this...assuming that your local store has the item you're looking for in stock, you place the order online. They have to have the item available at the store, ready and waiting for you to pick it up within 24 minutes of you placing the order. If you order and get there in say, 20 minutes and the item is not yet ready then you get a $24 gift card.

I could care less about the gift card...I just don't want to wait in line with my 3 year old! :rotfl:

Thanks, now I need to decide what to do.

unsuccessful here - we were #83 & 84 - the store had 82 units....this was the target in wilmington de,,,,what is a bummer is that for about a half hour we thought we were going to be the last ones to get a number, and then 2 people got in line with other people they knew in front of us,,,,bummer!!!! so are they going to get them again next week?

No luck here either!!! :furious: My DH went out to Target and Circuit City at 7:30 this morning, and our local Target only had 29, which the vouchers had already been passed out. I guess our Circuit City only had 15, and there were people waiting since 6:30 am and it is only 20 degrees here!! So, we will keep looking. We told our boys what was going on because for the past few Sundays either my DH or I have been running out the door! :) We told them we have been looking for one, but with no luck. We told them they may not get it in time for Christmas! :sad1: But, wouldn't they be surprised if we could find one before then???? We won't give up!!!

This is why I can not go stand in lines. Something like that would make me so mad! :sad2: You seem to be taking it better than I would! :woohoo:

For the release at Walmart, on Wednesday, is that a midnight thing?

I'm trying to prepare myself mentally for this.

I will ask at our local walmart too (It's 24 hours).. but, I thought people here will know as well.

We got a Wii! All thanks to my wonderful DH who camped out at Target! Technically it's for DS, but DH really wanted it too (OK, so did I - I'm not into gaming, but this really seems like fun to me!). He also got a couple of games and an extra Wii remote (but no Nunchucks came in). Now all we have to do is convince DS7 that he really wants the Wii, not the PS2 that his friend has! :rotfl:

DH and a good friend/neighbor of ours went to Target at 12:30 am and were numbers 17 and 18 in line. They had a total of 42 available, and customer #42 arrived around 4:30 am.

I had asked earlier on this thread how Target handles the line, so for anyone else who is wondering... I went on Friday and one of the electronics staff told me that there would be more on Sunday (but they didn't know how many). When DH arrived, there were several people lined up outside the door, where they stayed until 7 am. At that time Target gave out numbered tickets and told them they could leave and come back at store opening (8 am). When they got back and the store opened, everyone headed back to the electronics section and the staff called numbers in order.

Good luck to everyone still searching...hang in there!!

Woo Hoo!! I got a golden ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to Circuit City at 8:30 am. When I walked up to the door (no line), there was a guy standing there inside the doors. He opened the door a little and said, "Are you here for a Wii??" I said, "Yes." He handed me a ticket (#39) and said, "We open at 10 am. You need to pick it up by 12 noon." Woo Hoo. I didn't have to wait in line!! I waited to leave the house until 8:30 am because its cold here and I wasn't standing out in the cold any longer than that. But this ticket system is great!! So, I came back home and I am going to shower and change and go back to pick up the game. :cool1:

Thanks for the poster who posted the Circuit City info. We have 2 Circuit City's about equidistant from us. One had around 54 Wiis and the other was only getting 15. So I went to the bigger one and it worked out.

I love  the DIS!!

Well, we didn't have any luck either. CC did end up have 21 instead of 50 like the employee told me and people that got them lined up through the night for them. Target got something like 5 and they waited all night for them too. UGH!!! Hopefully we will get lucky and just come across one because I cannot imagine my Dh or I waiting all night for one :(

I went to target this morning at 8am and the parking lot was packed and there was about at least 100 people standing outside on line. I though it was Black Friday all over again! I then found out it was for the Wii. I'm not looking for one but I had to chime in because it seems that my Target received a lot. When I entered, there was another line. Those with their Wii tickets started outside ansd then moved to the other line inside where they paid and picked up their Wii at Customer Service. I thought that was a great idea because it freed up the Electronics Section. When i left at 9am the last group of people were finally on the line inside.

I just got one!!!! :cheer2: I got to Target at 7. About 7:30 2 people came out and said to stay in a single file line and they would be back out at 7:50 to hand out the 42 tickets. I got #35. When they opened we stayed single file and marched back to electronics to pick up and pay for our Wiis. It was about another 45 minutes in line until I happy danced my way back to me car. They didn't have any controllers so that is my next search.

Good luck and pixiedust: to all.

I sure am getting wii-envy reading all of these posts.

But, I'll keep at it.
