Any Wii's out there??????

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and they had a sign on the door saying that they would have Wii's for sale at 8 am on the 6th. Good luck! :sunny:

I also got one this morning at Target. I arrived at 6:40, was 8th in line, and they had 21. :cheer2:

Oy, I can't be there at 8am! I have to get kids off to school, and drive 30 minutes to get there! As my 7 year old would say *snap*.

We got one! I preordered the controller and we picked that up too. OUr target only had three, Circuit City had 41. :cool1:

I sure am getting wii-envy reading all of these posts.

But, I'll keep at it.
same here!

I got to my Target at 6:45am, was #16 in line and the store had 11 to sell. The first 2 people in line already have SIX they plan to resell this week, and bought 2 more today. :sad2:

This really frustrates me. I really feel that what those people are doing is wrong. I always think to myself "Get a real job....". It just irks me that parents would love to be able to buy this for their children for Christmas, but can't find them or buy them for the price the manufacturer intended. :guilty:

We managed to get a Wii on Black Friday. One of the advantages to living in a small town I guess, our local Shopko got a shipment of 8 in at 11 AM and when we bought ours at 1 PM there were still 5 sitting on the shelf. No one was there to buy them, even though they were displayed in the front at the service desk. It was wierd to see them just sitting there when earlier in the morning we had gone into the city to shop and had lined up to get one by 3 AM. People were running for them in the city, and in my small town they were just sitting there looking lonely waiting to be bought.

I went to both Target and CC this morning.

I got to CC at 9:45 saw a huge line, turned around and walked over to Target. Of course they were sold out.

Went back to CC and the line was even longer. Grab a spot in line then went up front to get a number. I was given number 57 and told "don't worry, you'll get one."

They opened at 10:15. First they let in people there for the lap tops. Then the manager says if you don't have a voucher for the Wii, you won't be able to purchase one. :furious:

Turns out the guy forgot to tell him he ran out of vouchers(40) and started writing numbers on the back of everyone’s hand.

After a two hour wait, I was able to get one. :dance3:

Now I have to work on getting the games. Thanks to all of you who posted info here. :wizard:

:goodvibes I got one this morning at ToysRus. I went to Target first got there at 8:30, they opened at 8:00 the guy told me at 7:45 they handed out tickets they had 15 and there were 18 in line. So I headed to to ToysRus, because they opened at 9:00. Got in line at about 8:40. They had 18 and I was 17 (whew) that was a close one. The guy behind me said he stopped at Circuit City and there were 15 in line and they only had 14. ToysRus also had remote and nunchucks. It said in the flyer that they had a bundle with Marvel comics game and a skin for your remote for 289.00. But you did not have to buy it that way. I just chose to buy the unit and an extra remote.
Hit Walmart on Wed. and watch these boards for info and I think you guys will get one before Christmas.

I'm at least an hour away from any of these stores other than WM. I don't think I'm going to get lucky this time around. :(

We got up at 5am and got in line at Target. We were 20th in line! By 6 am there were at least 60 people in line. At 7:45 they came out and said they had 40 of them. Yipee! All the people in line that I talked to were buying it to keep and not to resell.

I hope those people that are buying them up get stuck with them or make about $2 after the ebay and paypal fees.

I hope that anyone who buys a wii in order to resell it **** ** ******! Just had to share that even if you don't know what I said!

Forgot to say, they got in a ton of games and remotes too. More than 40 and most people only got 1 extra so if you need a remote call your Target and see if they have any.

dh got upthis am and was at target at 6:00. noone was there then people started getting there around 7 so he went to the door. an employee came out at 7:45 and said they did'nt have any wiis but several ps3's. so he went to 2 other targets and was to late infact they guy who walked into one store infront of him got the last one. He called and tore into the manager. She said to call at 7:30 every morning and ask if they have any. Which I did tuesday and they told me to be there around 10 so I gathred the kids and walked around target for 3 hours and they never had any. Well in dh's convo. with the manager they had some first thing tuesday, but the girl on the phone did'nt tell me.

As for the reselling, there really isn't a market or profit margin. For example, I bought a Wii on release date for reselling.

After buying the game and the system, with fees/shipping, I only made $50 profit.

So the granduer of selling something for $1000 was not happening. There are too many Wii's on Ebay and the market is soft. Market is also soft on craigslist.org as well.

I would have been better selling my ticket for $50 and walking away. Some people were selling their vouchers for $100 to people in line and not buying the systems.

Knowing what I know, I would not have done it. It was a huge hassle.

it burns me up too, not only for what he is doing.... but, he's just one of those people that gets away with this type of thing. When I saw him at Best Buy the other morning, he told me not to be mad, he got the game systems out of town and since BB didn't have any that morning, he wasn't hurting my chances. Well today, he & his wife, and their business partner very well could have messed up my chances :furious: AND. He didn't even buy one today... he sold his ticket to someone in front of me for $150.

The worst thing? This guy used to be my son's youth minister about 4 years ago. Because he likes my son, he's going to call me tomorrow and let me know what he'd take for one of the Wiis he has.

There were two guys this morning that already had two Wiis. They said they hit the Times Square TRU at 3:30 this moring. They then took the train down to Brooklyn and picked up two more. They're heading to a smaller game store in the morning to get a number. Of course they know what time the store opens AND what time the truck is due in tomorrow.

I'm happy I was able to get one for my son. I hope everyone here is able to get one as well. :wizard:

the guy I know (from this morning) sold his voucher for $150. Easy money.

I've got a bid on an ebay auction that's ending within 2 hours and considering what I know and have seen, it's not a bad deal (if I win it at this price):
- the Wii & everything that comes with it
- choice of 4 games, including Madden 07, Super Monkey Ball, and Zelda
- 2 extra controllers

Including shipping, the bid is $650. The games and the Wii would have been $450, before tax. I have no idea what the cost of the controllers is, and factor in packaging, shipping (guaranteed to be here be Friday), and fees.... so this seller isn't going to make big, big money at this price.

Do I expect to win the auction? nah. LOL

Local toysRus had 78 units in stock this AM, Girl said they saved the last two shipments for the ad.
Opened at 9, sold last one at 11:45.

Local Circuit City, had 60 and they still had some at noon.
