Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

It said in the e-mail/letter for testing that you had to show a valid credit card to check into the hotel. FP+ was not available for me to choose from on days before I arrived, only the days after.

This to me is the missing puzzle piece for those of you that are staying at a test resort but do not have the MB option. Online check in requires you link a credit card. I'm curious if anyone that got the MB option that did NOT check in online. MB testing is as much revenue tracking as it is beta/tech testing.

And I just went in and looked at 8/31 and I can see all the shows and parades available just fine. They are all available to pick.

Odd - they were not there when I picked all of mine, which was almost 3 weeks ago.

Well go pick them now! ;) LOL

I looked at now the shows are available at AK which is where we'll be on 8/31. We already had !F for the dinner package. Thanks for the heads up! More was available at MK, but we aren't going there that day.

I spoke with a CM yesterday to see if I could get an idea if any other resorts might be added to the testing and she could say that this would be the case. "If selected you will be notified by e-mail or perhaps certified mail."

I know that this is all in the testing stage, but it still kinda bums be out because I see that other FP times will be gone without even having the option to TRY to get them. Granted, once the program goes full force, I know that this will be the case as well, but at least all will have equal footing as to the possiblity of trying to get them. With the testing, that is not even an option, currently simply based on the resort where we will be staying.

I'm trying to keep an open mind about this and realize that the crowds are predicted to be 1-3 levels the week we are there (September 7-14), so it will probably not be a big issuue. But seeing FP+ times go for BOG, Wishes, etc., things that I KNOW we want to try and to go to..., well, you get my point, I hope.

Try not to worry. I just checked some of mine (Labor Day weekend) and there is still tons of availability for the coasters etc.

I've had the same conversations with several CMs. Either they know nothing or they aren't allowed to disclose information. I must admit that I feel less than magical after getting off the phone when I inquire about MagicBands. I understand that they are in a test phase but some of the CMs are starting to be downright rude about it.

It always strikes me as odd that Disney doesn't take advantage of these online communities as sources of recruitment for participation in these tests. Sure, we are Disney's biggest fans - but we can also be their biggest critics. They are really missing out on an ideal sample....first timers, young families, 20 and 30-somethings, long time guests, adult families, adults without children - you get them all here and at many other online Disney communities.

I am still holding out hope that they will add a few more resorts for September - a gradual rollout seems to make the most sense :confused3

I checked this morning - still not able to choose FP+ or Magic Bands. My check-in date is Sept 8 at Pop, was really hoping to be able to today since everyone up to Spet 7 was able to yesterday. Poo. Maybe this means just good old fashioned FP- for me? Ugh, now I will have to check everyday! :rotfl2:

Well, since I am in the same boat, I choose to assume that the arrival dates are being released in batches. Maybe a week at a time (1st-7th, 8th-?) to keep from overwhelming the system and CM's on the phone. I will continue to check everyday as well, but it could be another 6 days before they release a batch (or tomorrow, or 3pm, or Sept. 1st, or never) They either love to keep us guessing or are oblivious to our anticipation/frustration.

Hahaha indeed! Some information would be nice! I am definately in agreement with you as far as not wanting to poke the CMs! I am not super looking forward to FP+ but I would like to know one way or the other and have my choices booked sooner rather than later if this does indeed go live! This is stressing me out like nobody's business right now! :rolleyes2

They couldn't fix it? We had the SAME problem with the ADRs that's why I told you to call. Mom accidentally had two MDE accounts and the one she didn't use was set as the primary on the ADRs but they went in the computer and fixed it for us...

Guess what, i checked it today, and somehow my welcome homepage is fixed and i have the right date on my count down and it also shows my first day activities on the home page and not just the one ADR that was linked to my DH's Buzz icon. I guess the CM kept working on my issue after we hung up and fixed my problem. Very nice of her.

That's fabulous news! The system is still in the works making stuff like this tricky. As I said yesterday my mother maid ADRs before making her real MDE account and we didn't realize until we attempted to link the ADRs to the fresh account and couldn't. I feel like in coming weeks/months/years it will all become much smoother.

I too have felt their reply about the Bands when you call puts a sour tinge in my mouth. Which is why I will not call or inquire on the phone again.

In regards to recruiting on boards: HOLY COW why don't they? Because a well seasoned Disney Veteran active on a board like this will fully test every capability and be able to give good reasons why they like this or that. Or why they did not like this or that.

Instead I'm sure there are parties who got bands, barely used the FP+ capabilities, and at the end had nothing more to say about it other than "that's pretty neat".

Right now you have BOTH. They key card is linked to the band. If you don't get the key card to link to the band the band won't open your room or admit you to the park. Unless you have an AP and linked that. Then it will at least let you into the park. It is still in testing so the key cards are still required.

Sorry about the misinformation! I must have thought they scanned the bands when the person was referring to the KTTW card. Sorry!!

I have MB and my FP+ "booked", and we did not have any parade or firework options available.

Split Stay: 8/31-9/2 at POP (room only) - this is how we got the MB, then POR 9/2 thru 9/8 for package (FD-upgraded to DLX, 6 day tix + PH, Royal Room).

I saw the Friday to Sunday caveat, so I checked again, and none are available (for us) for Friday 9/6 or Saturday 9/7.

Now, MK doesn't have evening entertainment either nights (it's NOJ instead), but there weren't Illuminations or Fantasmic or parade options either.

Maybe they're "full" or maybe they're not offered that week of September yet? I'll keep checking to see if something opens up and will report back (if it hasn't already been posted here).

Sidenote: we can book FP+ from 8/31 thru 10/13. Can not book FP+ prior to 8/31 (check in at POP).

I wouldn't worry about it too much. First of all, while the DIS is a large online community, remember, this is just a *tiny* percentage of the guests that will be in the parks at the same time you will be. Many guests will be hearing about MB/FP+ for the first time when they go to check in (if the resort is participating). Plus, since it's a test, remember, Disney has determined exactly how many guests will be participating in the test, and will allocate FP+ accordingly. Meaning, it's not like it's open to everyone, and I'm sure they're erring on the side of caution, making sure even the people who first learn about it at check in, will see FP+ option available to them that week... why offer something with no choices, when the point is to "test" (i.e. put the system in high use to see how it works), during that time.

Even now, there are FP+ for all the "headliners" in every park, for just about EVERY HOUR, to choose from.

I honestly think that if your resort is participating, if you have to wait until check in to be offered your bands, you will have *PLENTY* of FP+ times to choose from. And, since you're on DIS, you have an advantage, since you don't have the same "learning" curve as the "typical" guest who is hearing about this whole thing for the very first time.

MB/Fp+ is NOT at CRT 8am ADR or a BOG Dinner ADR. There are tens of thousands of opportunities available (I believe, at least).... so, I hope no one feels too stressed out about the whole "I won't even be ABLE to book a FP+!"... I can't book a parade or firework ressie, even though others could... I chalk it up to the fact that WDW is gathering the information the need regarding that usage during August, so.. it's just not part of this phase of TESTING.
