Any September guests received FP+ testing invite?

I am pretty sure that that is to save people unpacking in the lobby at check-in and also directed at people taking ME as their checked luggage won't arrive at the hotel for several hours.

Whether they work without passing through the front desk...:confused3 IDK.

I wouldn't think you could bypass the front desk. If you have a package with tickets/dining, you always have to stop by the front desk to get your KTTW card. Now an AP is totally different and I don't know how that works. But I I understand correctly, the front desk has to "scan" the Mickey head chip.

Is anyone getting FP+ who are staying at CBR in September?

Also, do you have to do online check-in before they release magicbands or are people finding online check-in is not necessary? (I find the whole notion of checking into a hotel a month before I get there a little silly... I can't tell if I check in now if something were to happen if I could get my $ back, less deposit, should something happen before my trip.)

I would think just the opposite, actually. If you have your MB mailed to your home, and it is already linked with MDE reservation info.. why would you need to go by the front desk? The information is already there, and remember.. the MB ONLY contains (so we're told) the reservation # (or some unique identifying # to access your reservation detail).. so.... there's really nothing more that needs t be done.

I could actually see this as a benefit to Disney, as MB's could potentially reduce the que at the check in desk (and therefore allow less staffing?).... people get their MB's ahead of time, link everything up, do online checkin to add CC info for charging, and as long as they don't need to make changes or requests or something.. they can go straight to their room, once ready (they would be notified via Disney when ready), or to the parks, etc.

Now, certainly that wouldn't work for *everyone*, but it may work for some, which would increase the guests time in the park, or at DTD, or whereever else they can spend $ on property, and help to reduce waits/lines at guest services at the resorts.

Of course, this is all speculation, since this is just a TEST phase now.. but that's totally how I could see this working.

And for AP holders, once their AP is linked, they certainly don't have to "check in" anywhere in order to use their MB's as park admission.

And, for us, it would be GREAT! to bypass the front desk check in. I'd love that!

Keep in mind that I really have no clue, but it seems to me that people are saying that FP+ reservations are totally opened to them once they make their reservations, plus, you could link the two stays (or wouldn't they already be linked) in MDE so the system would know you're going to be there for the entire stay.

Also, I think that the MB will work even before you have checked in to your "MB Hotel" because they say right in the literature to "keep the bands out of luggage and handy" and don't many people go straight to a park without checking in first?

The answer to your question in YES.

My MB's opened up when I booked a RO at POP for 2 nights. My package beings at POR immediately after.

I could book my FP+ for the entire length of my stay... AND up through October 13th.. even though my package stay ends 9/8.

I am assuming that's only because they've opened up FP+ through 10/13. I would suspect anyone that has a MB (either for past, future or current trips) could select FP+ through 10/13.

Were you able to book FP for dates PRIOR to your arrival? I think that's what someone upthread was wondering. They start at one resort and move to Pop for the last couple of days.

I don't think I was clear enough! Sorry! We do not have a package at either resort and are buying our tickets seperately this week! I have read reports that with split stays people have been able to book FP+ for extra days AFTER leaving the test resort....Basically what I am asking is once you are part of the test as I am hoping I will be with my Pop Century 9/25 check in date, would one be able to book FP+ for days BEFORE the test resort checkin since Magic Bands are mailed before the trip? IE will I be able to book FP+ from 9/21-9/24 even though I am at BWV those days!?

Your bands are active as soon as they ship so yes in theory you should be able to but you will know the answer once your bands ship.

What hotel are you staying at?

Beach club. I know it's not part of the test group but yacht club is so I was kind of hoping it would open up to BC.

This is incorrect. The front desk does nothing with customized bands. They are active and linked to your acct already. When I checked in, there was no mention of the bands or test or anything other than him handing me the box with my girls bands in them (theirs were shipped to resort while the rest went to the house).

Linking of tickets is done by the guest right? Did you have to take your room key/ ticket and link it to your band yourself? But had to check in at the desk to get the key?

Have any of the September folks gotten the 4th bonus FP+ for MK? I check in on 8/31 and that was the only day I was offered the "bonus." (Of course we aren't going to MK that day )

this i where I am confused..Isn't the Magic Band also suppose to be the room key.. no more KTTW cards, but magic band. this is why I asked if I even need to check-in at POR after doing a split stay at AKL. Especially if I do online check-in. All my ressies ( room only plus the package room ) are linked to my MDE..

I checked this morning - still not able to choose FP+ or Magic Bands. My check-in date is Sept 8 at Pop, was really hoping to be able to today since everyone up to Spet 7 was able to yesterday. Poo. Maybe this means just good old fashioned FP- for me? Ugh, now I will have to check everyday! :rotfl2:

Right now you have BOTH. They key card is linked to the band. If you don't get the key card to link to the band the band won't open your room or admit you to the park. Unless you have an AP and linked that. Then it will at least let you into the park. It is still in testing so the key cards are still required.

I linked myself at home. I did online check in and all I had to do was show an ID at the front desk and grab my packets and go. My keys were in the packet.

I also had my pin set and my CC linked already and my room requests linked. My room was ready at check in and all my requests were met perfectly.

You won't get the bonus 4th or any of the special FP+ only things until they decide to upload them or offer them.

So, by any chance, has anyone been able to book FP+ BEFORE check-in date at a test resort? When we go September 21st-the 28th we are staying on points at BWV the first few nights and then staying at POP. Assuming POP will still be testing, would we be able to book all FP+ for all 6 days of our tickets even if BWV is nit testing?? If not, I think hubby has agreed to get a room at POP the night before to get FP+ the whole time, but I am hoping we won't have to go through that!

The days before I checked in to the testing resort were NOT available to me. Only the days after.

It said in the e-mail/letter for testing that you had to show a valid credit card to check into the hotel. FP+ was not available for me to choose from on days before I arrived, only the days after.

Logged into MDE this AM and still have FP+ options available (no bonus for those asking; at least not on my days). I clicked on MB's just to make sure they were still there and they were! The only change for MB's is that I'm no longer able to customize, status says they're being customized and will ship soon!

Staying at POP 9/7-9/14. Free Dinning (paid-upgraded). Non AP. Online Check in.
