Any pics yet of Dream aft balconies?

We, unfortunately, are booked into 5688 on a B2B Feb. cruise that is sold out. Our TA contacted DCL, spoke with 2 different departments and got the word that our balcony has 2 chairs and a small table. From looking at the photos posted previously, it is hard to conceive that this is the case. We will hold out hope untill we hear or see otherwise.

Your balcony will be the mirror of the 5188 balcony. That balcony had one small bench. I am guessing the answer you got was a canned response for all 6B category rooms. I would really fight to get some sort of compensation for that balcony if you paid the same as the person who got inkkognito's balcony.

Well, we're no longer in 5188 for our cruise - I've upgraded to a 5C instead. :cool2:

drsg - here's hoping you manage to get something sorted out for your B2B. :hippie:

We've pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact we'll be shoehorned on our verandah. Very disappointing since we spent hours trying to decide on a preferred stateroom choice all those months ago. Since both of our B2B cruises are sold out and our flights are bought and paid for, not much else to do. In a way, we are thankful to be finding this out now because if we would have opened those patio doors on embarkation day::sad1:

I am feeling much better :thumbsup2 about my 6188 stateroom .... looks like the verandah will be fine ... nothing like deck 5 ... whew ;)

Tink, too & MichellelovesMickey - Noticed your signatures got hit by the runaway board filter. I was able to fix mine by just opening my sig up and resaving. Didn't have to fix anything!

Nevermind. Both posts are now showing only red x's instead of the graphics.

I don't know if others are having problems seeing the pics, but I only see a red X where the pictures were posted in here.

Barb's pictures are cross-posted in this post if you need to see them before the pictures come back!

Thank you! Thank you!

GASP!:scared1: I REALLY don't want that balcony! I hope the other 6B rooms aren't like that! I have #7690 booked....I would be really upset!

Are you sure that's the one you booked? We have that one for the cruise date indicated by your ticker. I'm looking at our confirmaton email now and verifying. Sure enough...it's that room.

We have been told some of these corner aft rooms are handicap rooms??

Yes some are. As far as the deck plans go deck 10 are the only ones that are not handicapped. I have seen posted that the deck 9 ones or one of them might end up not being either but if you look at the picture from the back of the ship they all have the wider doors in those rooms to allow for a wheelchair to get out onto the balcony so I would say all but deck 10 are HA rooms.

So far, the ONLY one DCL has listed as an acessible room is 9170. All of the other larger rooms are not equipped....yet. That may change.

I think we'll see a lot of category changes in the future, due to the fact that there are so many rooms and verandahs that are now listed in the same categories, but are so very different.

Oh okay :)

The deck plan I have been using has all the corner afts being HC except for deck 10. If you look at the photos of the back of the ship they all have the swing out verandah doors for the HC category. If they aren't setup that way now they might do it in the future.

The really big printed map that I got at the future cruise desk has handicapped symbols on the following aft rooms. I got this in October so I am not sure if it changed or not.

Deck 6 #6186 and #6686

We have 7690 booked for Mar 2012, would you please take some pics and post!

We almost booked 5186 & 5188 for our Fantasy cruise (the cheaper 9A/6B combo) and our TA talked us into 5190 & 5192 instead. THANK GOODNESS! I'm still a bit hesitant being aft and right below the flag (and next to some odd crew door and at the end of the hallwayy to nowhere with a laundryroom across the way) but I KNOW they will be better rooms than 5186 & 5188 :thumbsup2

If you go on DCL's booking site, and specifically ask for a handicap room, those corner rooms aren't listed.
I've got Disney's large travel agent brochure/book and they aren't listed as handicapped yet.

Also, these rooms are being booked as soon as the dates open, by people who don't have the required medical form to keep an accessible room.

So....so far, those rooms are open to everyone. I have a feeling that DCL may go in and retro-fit them to be handicap accessible, but they haven't so far.

On the Magic and Wonder, the far aft handicap rooms on Deck 8 were originally supposed to only be booked as such. But the rooms had a few problems that kept them from being completely accessible/special needs rooms, so DCL has often allowed people without "needs" to book them.

We have been trying to 9670 for our November cruise and they said they r NIH open yet to book because they have not decided if they r handicap rooms or not! We call a couple times a week! Right now we r in 10658!

I would be concerned about booking the rooms that could be re-classified as handicap,......its possible that DCL might bump people from these, if they so choose, in future. :rolleyes1

Yeah I know! That is why the travel agent we are working with will not put us in that room until she knows for sure one way or another! Which is good because if I can't get 9670 I still want the room we already have!
