Any pics yet of Dream aft balconies?

If you go on DCL's booking site, and specifically ask for a handicap room, those corner rooms aren't listed.
I've got Disney's large travel agent brochure/book and they aren't listed as handicapped yet.

Also, these rooms are being booked as soon as the dates open, by people who don't have the required medical form to keep an accessible room.

So....so far, those rooms are open to everyone. I have a feeling that DCL may go in and retro-fit them to be handicap accessible, but they haven't so far.

On the Magic and Wonder, the far aft handicap rooms on Deck 8 were originally supposed to only be booked as such. But the rooms had a few problems that kept them from being completely accessible/special needs rooms, so DCL has often allowed people without "needs" to book them.

We booked the room 9170 for our March cruise because I have breathing problems and need a wheelchair. They didn't ask me to fill out the medical form. :confused3 Do I need to fill one out?

We were assigned 6686 for the 2-13 sailing and I called my TA 2 days ago to find out if thy were classified accessible. She called Disney and they stated it is an accessible room which means NO SPLIT BATH:scared1: on top of other things.

I have issues with mobility and have always been told by my travel agent or the booking agent with DCL, that I have to download the medical form on Disney's website and send it in a couple of months before the cruise, or else I could be bumped from that/any accessible room if someone else needs it and has the form.
If you book the room online, I don't know if it tells you that or not.
I've always booked my room, then downloaded the form and had my doctor fill it out right away & faxed it to DCL so that I wouldn't lose my room.

We have been trying to 9670 for our November cruise and they said they r NIH open yet to book because they have not decided if they r handicap rooms or not! We call a couple times a week! Right now we r in 10658!

That's good news for those of us who need a handicap room and haven't been able to book one...with a verandah.
For my September 2011 cruise, I'm waiting. I know this sounds awful, but I'm hoping that whoever booked the rooms that I need won't have the medical form when the time comes, and that they'll have to relinquish it.

Nothing gets my dander up more than people booking accessible rooms when they don't have a need for it, simply because they are roomier than other rooms in the same category.

Please don't take this is an attack of any kind....you are doing this the RIGHT way!

I stayed in room 9174 and was very impressed with the size of the balcony. I'm at work now so I don't have my pictures with me but I will post one later tonight.

It's very similar to the picture posted at the beginning of this thread.

pics please???:worship:

We're in room 8188 on the June 16th 2012 cruise on the Fantasy!! Pictures would be awesome to hold me over, it's sooo far away!!

Too funny, we are in 8188 on the June 23rd, 2012 sailing! Now I will know who was in it right before us! If you find any pics on 8188 would you PM me? I try to keep up on the boards but I am losing track of where I have been. :rotfl:

I tweeted pics of 6690, right above sorcerer mickey. I think you can see them at www.twitter.com/themeparkwriter even if you're not on Twitter. LOVE this room although flag flapping outside sounds like a freight train.

OK, Barb, what's the verdict? Did they strike the flag or were you "flapped" the whole time:scared1:

Glad to see you tweeted that you were safely home.

Never heard it again after that first day. Must have just been extra windy. You do hear the Evolution club in the deck 6 aft staterooms tho', even though it is 2 decks down. Lots of thumping bass. Didn't bother me too much tho' as I was running in a state of exhaustion, so no trouble falling asleep. I would definitely stay back there again.
