Hey girls!

Well, some semi-good news on my part....no BFP yet, but today lifted my spirits some.

I had my appointment with my new doctor, and because we work for the same area he had everything done as a favor, so it didn't cost one cent. Thank goodness!! I went through a battery of tests (one left for me) and everything came back in the clear. I am perfectly healthy, normal periods, obviously ovulating correctly because my period comes on time every month, etc. He was such a sweet and funny man, he put me right to ease at the first moment he started talking to me. His nurse was a sweetheart as well! What a change from my last ob!!

I have to go do one more test just to be 100% sure that everything is okay...it's some long word that starts with an H, but basically I go in right at the end of this period (and it started today right after the exam, thank god...how gross would that be?!) and have a dye injected into my uterus to make sure there are no polyps or fibroids. If that's in the clear, he said that I can be ruled out 100% (though after my hysterscope today, it showed nothing on the monitors that could be wrong with me). He said that he bets $10 that my husband has either a low sperm count or lazy sperm...hehe. He pointed out that we got pregnant once after trying for 8 months, so he is pretty sure that it's on my hubby's end. He's going for his test either this weekend or next week.

If it comes back as that, then he said that we could go to super easy route of getting preggers by my hubby giving a sample in the ob office (I LOL at that one) and then they would take a special syringe to help move them up higher to where the boys need to be when I'm ovulating. Lay there for 15 minutes, go home and that's that.

He also put me on a cocktail of B5, folic acid, a pre nate and baby aspirin. I asked about that, and he said that the baby aspirin kills all of the bad bacteria that may be in your body while the rest helps fine tune everything.

Before he left the room, he asked when my next pap smear was...I told him it was last August. He responded with, "Eh, you're good. You won't need another one in August because you'll be pregnant by then." :) :) :) :)

So...that's where I am right now. Woot!! :):yay: :yay:

Thanks girls - I'm sure shopping won't be so bad once I'm there - just thinking about it is driving me crazy. :sad1: The last time I was in the store I was 9 weeks along with my Mom & just talking about everything we wanted to get for the baby. We already have a bunch of baby stuff at home & that doesn't bother me to see, so I'm not sure what I'm worried about. It's like a blizzard outside right now, so who knows if we'll even make it out to shop tonight or not...

I know how you feel :( I bought a ton of stuff waaaaaay early in my pregnancy, and now it's all in the closet next to my desk. I feel sick looking at it some times. I get very jealous when I see pregnant women anymore, and I see them more and more each day... :P

Can I join here? :wave2: We are in the pre-phases of TTC - taking prenatals, trying to give up caffeine, lose weight, etc. Yesterday was the 8 month anniversary since losing Macy, and I just really, really need & want this. I wanted another baby before all this happened, but now it's Really important. KWIM? I just know that I'm going to keep being sad without a baby and I'm still going to be sad with a baby, but at least I'll have something to make me smile, too. ::yes:: Plus, I'm not getting any younger. lol

Anyway, we aren't actively trying yet, but if it happens, it happens. :cloud9:

Oh, and saw the post above about the Tinkerbell/Peter Pan nursery stuff. I HAVE to go see this. I looked online and couldn't find it, but I'm going to try to get to our Disney store this weekend. Macy LOVED Peter Pan & Tinkerbell and I had already decided to do the nursery in greens & purples, so it sounds perfect for us!

Oh Sherri, keep us up to date!! I think about you guys quite often... :)

HSG - hysterosalpinogram. It is really cool to watch the dye go through your uterus and your tubes. It also caused A LOT of crampiness for me. I took some motrin before the test, and made sure I had someone to drive my home afterward.

The rest of your news sounds great! Do they want your DH to do a sample now? My RE insisted on it even before he did any tests on me. He was fine, of course.

It was great to hear from you again, and good luck. :wizard:

Denae

Rebecca - thanks! I actually tried to be "somewhat" good while on vacation, plus since I was already up a few pounds, I don't think I packed it on as quickly as when I was a little thinner. Thanks for the advice - I know that I don't have to worry about getting too thin - not a problem I've ever had. :rotfl2: I'm still just barely in my healthy weight range, but at the very high end of it - losing about 10 lbs would be perfect right now, but I'm just trying to eat healthy & not focus on weight loss too much right now. With a pregnant coworker due in March, it seems everyone is bringing in goodies to munch on every day. I've been good about avoiding them - enough already!! LOL :rotfl:

Steph - that's great news to hear!! :goodvibes It sounds like it could really be easy if it is as simple as hubby's got a low count. Can I ask - how much baby asprin do you take a day? Is this something you take every day of your cycle? I've been hearing about more & more people taking it, and just curious how to go about it and all the benefits of it. :)

Well, my coworkers bailed on me last night due to the blizzard outside, so I went dress shopping. I got a cute black dress to wear to the Ball next weekend, so I feel so much better that I have something to wear now. The dresses in my closet were simply NOT going to zip up this week.

CD11 for me, just patiently waiting to O  . Finally starting to get some symptoms that O's not too far off - looking forward to using my first OPK tonight after work - just hoping the lines aren't too difficuly to decipher. :rolleyes1

Hope everyone is having a happy hump day! :)

hey ladies- AF has arrived yeah! lol....who would think i would be hoping she would come? :confused3 :rotfl: but she is here. i have bloodwork in the am and am going to let them know then. i am hoping maybe they will let me start my stim shots earlier than sunday since AF is here already. that would just make my chances of moving up the ER and ET better. it would just be great to have my ET on a friday (2/16 is what i am hoping for), so i can do bedrest all weekend!

Emily- glad you found a dress! i know, the weight gain is killing me here. a year on hormones/fertility meds has screwed me over. plus i feel like crap 75% of the time so i don't work out like i used to. i've always been active, so this is killing me. i am NOT a healthy eater. i am picky. i don't like lettuce, tomatos, peppers, onions etc. so no salad for me. it's not easy being me! :rotfl: :lmao: but i have been eating healthy lately for me....a v-8 a day(hey, it counts as 3 veggies!), more fruit and more veggies and more protein. apparently more protein is supposed to help with IVF. i even had eggs for dinner last night to get more in! lol Congrats to you on barely gaining weight on your trip- that is awesome!

Stepharoonie- Glad your tests and appt went well! it sounds like he is considering doing an IUI with you- intrauterine insemination. it can be done with meds- like clomid and a trigger shot to induce ovulation or sometimes they have you do it without clomid etc. It is basically like being 'turkey basted'.....lol.....i know, i've done it 4 times now. twice with clomid and trigger shot, twice with injectables and a trigger shot. The trigger shot is done when they see your follicles are mature and the shot triggers you to ovulate 36 hours later, so that way they can 'time' when to do the IUI. Denae is right, it is the HSG test and it was uncomfortable, but not too bad. it was cool seeing the dye go through there.

disneydreamer- i am with you- i don't get the weight/size thing. like you- i am not big really, but right now i am weighing in at 158 on my 5'9 frame. my usual is like 140 or 145, so i've gained weight on the meds this year (i've been on meds ALL year). I was a good size 8 and totally content with that. i've never been a size 2 or 4! lol---if i was, i must have been a toddler. i've just always been athletic with muscle. i've since gone up into the size 10s the last few months....just to be comfortable with all my bloating and weight gain during the IUIs. and i can't get back to an 8 to save my life. it is depressing, but what can you do? nothing helps, i've tried exercising. i cut out cokes and caffeine last week. i am just giving up until after my IVF- and hopefully i'll be getting fat and pregnant then. but i just don't get that a size 10 or 12 is plus size. I was a 12 for the longest time and when i first met DH. i lost weight before our wedding and have been an 8 ever since. most women in the US are a size 12 or bigger, yet it's 'plus size'? gimme a break. the size 2 and 4 women are truly the minority, not the majority, so shouldn't they be called the mini-size or something and a size 12 be regular/average and not "plus"? :rotfl:

well back to work and more tylenol. btw- those asking about baby aspirin, i think it helps with circulation too and can help improve your lining for implantation. i am not currently on it, but am asking my RE tomorrow. i don't want to mix anything with all the drugs i am on now! lol

Is this something you take every day of your cycle? I've been hearing about more & more people taking it, and just curious how to go about it and all the benefits of it. :)

I take 1 tablet once a day. My doctor said that it helps to fight off any bad bacteria in your body when you're trying to conceive. That, along with 1 prenate, 1 B5 and 1 folic acid. He said all of that makes a type of "super baby cocktail" that will make things very ripe and help with those silly spermies that are too tired to make the long trip ;) And yes, every single day of the cycle.

They wanted him to do it originally when I had him scheduled 2 weeks ago...but he was embarrassed to do it. Now he has to...hehehe ;)

My doctor just wants to make 100% sure there is nothing wrong since my original doc's office was stupid and didn't take care of me after my d&c.

I have a cute story that I figured you all would love. My BIL has apparently been planning a trip since November to go to WDW. He calls us tonight asking us for advice. He's leaving tomorrow  So he is staying off site at the Holiday Inn and plans on taking a cab everywhere they want to go. He had no idea on tickets, restaurants or anything. Just expected to find out all the ins and outs tonight. He hasn't been since he was 8

Stephanie, I am glad to hear the good news! I hope that the rest of hte tests go well for you. I bet it feels nice to know that nothing is "wrong"

Emily, you did good with only gaining that at WDW! I gained htat in about 8 days when we were there. I probably would have gained more had I had more of an appetite when we went (I was about 9w at the time and had little appetite for junk food).

Rebecca, I can hardly believe you weighed as much as I do (well a smidge more) and you have like 10" on me! I realize I am on the heavier side of the spectrum for me, but I couldn't imagine how svelt you would have had to be! You'd hate it though. I weigh just about 130 at the moment (need to drop a few IMO) and I do wear about a size 2. Then again I am a whopping 5' and some change, so a size 12 on me is honestly extremely overweight (I weighed about 175 when I was a 12)

However a size 12 is so NOT a plus size!!!! I hope no one ever thinks that they are at that size. Being short for me makes life so not fun when it comes to size, but I betcha even a few pounds over weight, y'all here look beautiful!

Michelle, woo hoo on AF showing! Trust me, I know it can be a good thing. I am crossing my fingers for you though. It is about time you get that BFP!

Stephanie-Congrats on getting the OK from all your tests. I bet you feel much better...especially getting them all done for free!!! I will have to ask my Dr about the vitamins and baby asprine you are taking...at this point I will try anything.

Michelle-YEAH for AF!!! Best of luck with the next step in the process!!!! :thumbsup2 I was a size 2 in the fifth grade then grew over 2 inches that summer and came back a size 4 I was very long and lankey and boney...I looked very silly.

Elaine-I just get frustrated because I am only 29. I still like to wear some of the trendy looks like cute graphic tees and cami's. But all the trendy stuff is in a "junior cut" which means it is cut slimmer than a normal T. So even an XL is just to snug. So that means trying to find "plus" sizes. As for bottoms I have a wide pelvis (my Dr when I was 16 said I had great "birthing hips" that I could easily carry multiples...gee that is just what a 16 year old wants to hear) and I need at least a 35in inseam (which means I have to wear flats). Right now I am 192lbs. but would love to be 160 but I will take 175 for starters.

Hello all,

I've read through some of the thread and don't know how I missed this one! I would love to join the group. DH and I have been trying for a few months now. (Well, we have been together for 17+ years, married over 10, and never been pregnant, but haven't really "tried" so one or both of us may be infertile.)

OK, now that you all know more about me than anyone in our families does, I would love to join the group. Maybe we can spread some of that baby dust around here!

I also took one a day when I was TTC, it was recommended by my doc b/c I had endometriosis in the past.

Looks like a lot of you are making progress! Hopefully we'll have some new BFPs in the next couple of months!

Welcome Tracy! Glad to have you with us! Everyone's story is a little different, but we are all here to encourage and support each other on this whole trying to conceive journey.

Elaine, sounds like you and I are about the same height - although I'm 4'11" in shoes...I always swore I'd have a party when I hit 5', but I've never had that party! I've always been super petite, averaging around 95 lbs until I turned 30 (with the exception of a couple years in college on dorm food when I got up to 110). After I turned 30, I was on anti-depressants for a while and put on over 30lbs in 10 months...:scared1: ...I was very surprised by that, and those extra 30lbs on me really showed up. People who hadn't seen me in a while were very surprised, and actually a lot of people thought I had some medical condition causing me to bloat up! :rotfl: But I went from a size 0-2 to a size 8-10 in less than a year, and it was brutal trying to find anything that would fit me around the waist and not be a full 10-12 inches too long.

I did weight watchers and went off the meds after I got married, and over 18 months was able to loose about 15-20 lbs. I had gotten back down to 110 and was pretty happy there, although I'd really like to be 105. I really have no desire to drop back to 95 lbs - although it was perfectly healthy for my height - but 105 seems reasonable. I've slowly crept back up to 115, so I try to be a little careful. I like being able to wear size 4 & 6 since the length is usually closer to what I need.

DH is sad that when I lost the weight my b**bs shrank down a cup size. :lmao: Poor guy - he said it was so sad watching them fade away. He was under the impression that they were always the same size, no matter what. I had to break it to him that the only b**bs that don't change size are that way by science, not nature. He was very distressed...another man myth broken, in his words! :rotfl2:

Thanks ladies for the welcome and TTC vibes. I posted and then forgot to check back in here. I'll try to come by more often. I need to spend some time reading this thread and catching up on where all of you are. :)

Welcome Tracy!! We have a great group of people on this thread. It's very helpful to talk a bunch of ladies that understand what you're going through. :goodvibes

Ugh...I don't even want to THINK about weight! Right before I got pregnant with DS, I had lost 20 pounds and was the smallest I had been in a long time. THen I got pregnant. I gained back the 20 I had lost REALLY fast, and then gained 30 more for a total of 50! I STILL haven't lost it. :( :( I was doing good for a while, then I got lazy, then I started thinking why lose it if I'll get pregnant again and gaine more. But now, I realize getting that BFP isn't as easy as I once thought, so I'm trying to be better. My problem is, aside from my tummy, a LOT of it went to my bbs which makes it VERY hard to find clothes that fit right. My bbs are big enough for plus size 14/16, but the rest of me isn't so plus size clothing looks like maternity clothes on me (big in the belly area). It's frustrating. When I had lost weight the first time, I had gotten down to a D and was SO excited. I hope that happens again!

I've been watching what I eat, trying to eat healthier and drink more water and no coke. I've also been taking the stairs at work every day (5th floor). I need to find some other sort of exercise, but it's so hard! I think I need to find a good DVD so that I can squeeze it in in the morning or late at night. And suggestions??

Last time I lost weight, once I got into it I did GREAT! It's getting started that's tough.

I'm officially now in the 2WW according to FF. I O'd on CD16 this month instead of CD20 that I was expecting based on the last couple of months. *sigh* We did BD on CD16 and CD17, so we'll see. I need to stick to BD'ing every other day! I always start off great, but then I get tired. LOL! Then I try to pick it up again around O, but it seems that's not a good plan as I"m not completely regular. Always something...

Welcome Tracy!

I've been reading but not posting. I'm not really sure where I am in my cycle right now. Since I don't know exactly what happened in the beginning of Jan. I don't know how to count my cycle. I'm not temping since I am just trying to relax and not think about it. Friends of ours have offered us a bunch of their baby things (bassinet, highchair, clothes, etc) we are supposed to get them later this month. I'm thankful, but they want to know if there's any "news" yet. They don't realize that it doesn't always happen right away (their baby was a big surprise).

Good luck to everyone!! :wizard:

hey ladies- Elaine- LMAO at your BIL calling the night before. i can't imagine cabbing it everwhere, they will get expensive. my sis had to take a cab from the airport to the contemporary to meet us for dinner- she came in later- $50 for that. ouch! okay- so i eat my words- you can be a size 2! ;) i am so jealous! :) but yes definitely for your heighth, that is ideal. but at 5'9, being a size 2 just isn't ever happening for me. lol Rebecca, i am with you- it is hard shopping in juniors, even when i was an 8. i am a curvy 8, i have those birthing hips too and being athletic, i have more muscular legs (usually, not now since stopping the gym! :rotfl2: ). those jr. sizes are hard, i usually have to go a size up, especially in jeans. Lane Bryant does have cute stuff though. i shop a lot at New York and Company too- they have a lot of sizes and nice work stuff.

Imarried grumpy- i did the same thing- when i did lose weight a few years back, my ****s were gone. i was always a c. i am now a b. although in the last few weeks they have grown due to all the meds i am on! lol

Skuttle- good luck in the 2WW!!!! when do you test?

Tracy- welcome- always happy to have more!

well AF is in full force. did bloodwork this am, they will call if anything is off. otherwise, i have my sono tomorrow. she said i will start stims sunday and another sono next thursday to see how my follies are responding to the 3 shots a night! i have acupuncture in an hour, i am looking forward to relaxing! oh and i asked about baby aspirin, she said they don't normally prescribe it unless your levels are off. since mine are usually okay, they haven't prescribed it. she said i should NOT take it until after my egg retreival. it could screw things up if i take it before then. of course this is with IVF. if you aren't doing any other meds, then i am sure it is fine to take once daily. i will take it once i have my ER.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes and wishes!!!

I am technically in the 2WW according to Fertility Friend (again, lol), but I don't want to jinx it. I am beginning to hate that chart. Looks so nice and then BAM! AF!!! I am 10dpo and it says my chart has gone triphasic. (I am not counting on anything as I don't want to get my hopes up again.) I am also a POAS-aholic, so I am trying to practice avoidance! :lmao: You just KNOW I had to try one yesterday and it was BFN.

My weight is certainly not helping this process, but at my age, I am too scared to wait anymore.

Anyway, I really enjoyed reading about everyone's journey! Is there some kind of "tally" as to how many of us have been successful yet? That would be interesting to see.

Best wishes to everyone ttc this cycle!

Hi!

I would HIGHLY recommend Fertility Friend. It has been pretty easy to chart on there and VERY eye-opening! I think they still give you a trial free period to see if you like it. I got a thermometer (Basal Body Temp one) from Walgreens and it was only about $5 so well worth it.

Good luck to you!
