Aren't you supposed to do the test first thing in the morning? I wonder if that has any affect on the results?

They say to do it in the morning b/c that is when you will have the most concentrated amount of hCG in your urine. But, technically you can do it anytime. Of course, I will probably try again tomorrow morning...(shhhh don't tell DH. He told me we can't afford kids b/c I have bought too many tests in the last 4 months... ).

That's funny! I said I wasn't going to test anymore this cycle, but you know what I'll be doing first urine tomorrow morning!

My husband doesn't know I've been buying all of them! Luckily, we have seperate bathroom sinks and cabinets. Have you at least been going to the dollar store? I bought 5 there the other day.

Hey guys! Just wanted to check in and give the newbies a HPT tip.

The MOST effective HPT for me was AccuClear, I got a positive result 8dpo (very faint...but hey, it was there ). With First Response I got a positive at day 10dpo. I didn't get a positive with the digital until AFTER my period was due...so it was definitely the least effective for me.

Hope this helps the compulsive HPT buyers.

You can get them at drugstores or places like Target or Wal-Mart. I almost broke us with HPTs......I have a collection that goes from lightest to darkest. It was an obsession....

I'm feeling crummy right now. I have a little cramping, and that horrible feeling that AF is coming for yet another unwelcomed stay! It looks like I may be riding the cotton pony another month.

I must admit, I have not read much of this thread at all- only a couple pages here and there.
My husband and I have been married since May 2004. We have really enjoyed our family just being us, our cat and our dogs, but we have decided it is a good time to expand again!
We have just started TTC. I used the fertility calendar at babyzone.com, as well the ovulation calculator at i dream of baby. my cycle is very regular, so I can usually tell anyway. I do not have the time/patience/organization skills to chart- just tell me what week, and that is when I will do it! That is what i really like about the calendar/calculater. I was supposed to ovulate last Friday, so we did a lot of BDing. I now have to wait until next friday to find out! I am trying not to get too excited, but I can't help wondering....
My friend just found out that she is pregnant, and she sent me to a bunch of Baby specific websites, but I don't want to post there- I feel like even through lurking, I "know" people here.

Ok...I broke down....and did a test tonight. And it was....BFN. O well. Still no AF, so there is always tomorrow!!

Conservative Hippy...The cycle after I stopped taking the pill was pretty long - like 39 days. My body kinda went into shock when I stopped. I ended up having major pains in my abdomen - I could barely walk. So, I went to the doctor, and they did a CT scan. Turns out I had a large ovarian cyst. Luckily it went away on its own. But, my doctor told me that it would take a while after I went off the pill for my body to chemically balance itself out, and get back on a normal schedule. I am sure it is different for everyone....so don't worry. I am sure you will be back on track soon.

I have endometriosis, and I haven't had a period in over two years! I have nooooooooooo idea how long it is going to take to get all the drugs out and get my body back to the abnormality that is normal for me.

One of my college friends has really bad endometriosis, to the point that her dr. told her it was unlikely she could get pregnant. Well she sure proved him wrong! She was married in March of '03, and conceived in May of that year! She now has two adorable boys and has proven that endometriosis doesn't have to mean problems getting pregnant.

So take courage! Bodies are surprising things... May yours adjust quickly and give you a healthy baby soon.

Good morning all! I am going in a few hours to get more blood drawn. Did I ever mention how much I hate needles? I had more spotting this morning, and I've noticed something that could be total coincidence or could mean nothing. I've been rather constipated and I only spot the morning after I go to the bathroom. At least so far that is the only time I've seen spotting. It could mean something or not. We've mentally prepared ourselves for either way at this point.

Kelly, I am sorry that AF showed up I know how heart breaking that can be. I hope next month will be it for you!

CH, you never know how well a body will respond. I know a friend who got pg the first month after she went off the pill with endometriosis. I know my body adjusted to the non-pill cycles immediately as well. You just never know.

Feeling lousy today though. We've had some odd weather (including tornado warning and hail last night) so now I am all stuffy. Oh well, at lest I don't have too much to do today

I'm due the 7th, took a test this am and another bfn! I don't think I'm preggo, b/c the urine was very dark and concentrated. I was looking at the test in every angle of light hoping to see the faintest double line. No such luck.

If af comes, I blame work! We did the bd one night when I had a + ovulation stick, and planned on it the next night. Well, they called me into work and I said yes, even though I was scheduled the next 3 nights. So it's their fault! Next month I'm taking the phone off the hook, and we're doing whatever it takes! It's a lot harder finding time when you have another child at home. Gotta wait until bedtime!

What kind of stops are you going to pull out next month? I may need some advice since I am totally clueless!

To refresh everyones memory, we started ttc in June and we got pregnant within one cycle, but then I m/c at 8 weeks in August. I got my first period in September, and then we ttc and now I am in the 2ww. My cycles average around 33 days, or at least that is what they were before the m/c. My question is this, since I am new to the whole ttc and hpt thing, when should I take a hpt? Today I am at cd26 and 12dpo. Do I take it around cd28, cd33, or can I take one now? I am so confused! I have heard that you are more fertile following a m/c, but I am just not feeling it this month.

Kelly - I am so sorry the hag showed. I hope October is your month!

Mickeybar - I think 12dpo is a good time to test :O) Although, with this current pregnancy, I didn't test until about 13dpo and the line was SOOO faint. I think if I had tested any earlier, I would have been looking at a BFN. It was a bit darker the next day at 14dpo. So you never know!

Helena - lady, you are speaking my language. I have had the WORST constipation with this pregnancy. And it was after I was finally able to go that I would spot. I recommend making sure you are getting enough "roughage" and if you can stomach it, add prunes/prune juice into your diet. It got so bad the other night DH called the nurse line and asked what OTC stuff I could take. He went out and got me some FiberCon or whatever it is that you mix into a beverage. UGH. It's all the iron in the prenatals, and the expanding of your uterus, putting pressure on your other organs...makes things slow down. &&&& for great results today!

Allison - how have you been??

Lisa - hope this month is your month! &&& that the IUI did the trick!

Mickeybar....As for next month, I told DH that we would be BD'ing a lot!! I also plan on cutting out all caffeine, drinking lots of green tea and pineapple juice (heard those were good), and temp'ing every day. Maybe those things will help!?

Mickeybar - Some people have siad that they got BFPs at 12 dpo. Personally, I waited until about 15dpo. I know I couldn't stand seeing a negative, so it was worth the wait for me.

Elaine - sorry about the blood draw, but hopefully the numbers are good!

Fanofdisney - I know what you mean abou the work schedules. DH and I both work 24 hour shifts, so sometimes we would have to miss the right day. Sick time was a beautiful thing......

So I got to do another 1 hour glucose tolerance yesterday - what a treat! I haven't heard yet, but I hopefully didn't fail this early into everything. We did get to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was very cool. I have to for an u/s in 2 weeks, just to check dates. I think I'm probably a week behind what the claendar says I should be.

Jen - way cool on the baby's heartbeat! How come you took your GTT so early? I am taking mine this month at 16 weeks and THAT's early. What do you think your edd is? Can't wait to hear about the u/s!
