Hi girls! Wow lots of new BFPs, it sure is hard to keep up! I just saw all of the posts on things to do and take to increase your chance of getting pregnant and wanted to say that while I don't know what worked for sure, b/c we only ttc one month so I didn't have a chance to compare, but in that month I took PNVs, one baby aspirin per day, Mucinex, and also drank grapefruit juice. Maybe it was the combination of all of the above! :thumbsup2

Oh, and I didn't stop drinking coffe or wine until after BFP either!

Okay, I'm doing the PNV and just started Mucinex (Hope I started early enough...CD10). I've heard about the grapefruit juice. What does baby aspirin do? DH thinks I'm nuts! I usually refuse to take medicine when I'm sick....hate it! Now, I'm taking Mucinex to try to make a baby!

Please enlighten me---what does the grapefruit juice do? I have also heard about pineapple, what is the theory behind it?

Sue, Sheri's post above has a bit about the grapefruit juice in it. It supposedly helps produce more CM, which helps with conception.

Allison, baby asprin is just a mild blood thinner. It has helped with some of my periods in the past making the heavy flow a lot more tolerable for me. I guess that helps the lining become more ripe and easier to implant. Not 100% sure but I started taking it a couple months after my D&C. I did notice a big difference.

Feeling lousy today... but I have a lot of work to get done on some church stuff *sigh*

Yeah, my doc recommended the baby aspirin since I had endometriosis before, and this was my first time off the pill or Lupron in 5 years. My neighbor said her doc told her to start taking them this year after a miscarriage last year (her 3rd or 4th in 5 years, with one healthy boy in between). She is now 5 months pregnant too.

Me too. I stayed home from synagogue because of it. Miss DH bunches. He's been gone since 9am this morning. It's 8:30 now. We stay all day til sundown, so it makes for a looooooooong day alone when I don't go. I did go for a walk today though. That helped a bit, getting some fresh air.
:goodvibes

I wish your neighbor a good pregnancy. I couldn't imagine having that many miscarriages. I am just unlucky and have a heavier flow and pain the first day only. Endo was never found and all my hormones look just fine. I guess I am just lucky ;) The asprin has made everything a little more tolerable, though it has seemingly made my period a day longer now. I haven't decided if I will keep at it after this pregnancy or not.

Denise, sorry you were so bad yesterday as well. I figured it out for me... don't take ANY MEDICATIONS PERIOD on an empty stomach. I now have switched my nightly allergy med and vitamin to dinner time. I wasn't sleeping well otherwise.

Feeling better today, though tired. I am still decongesting slowly so once in a while that gets me gaggy. Hopefully that will all go away soon!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say congrats to the new BFPs and wish the rest of you good luck this month!

Oh, and skuttle, I love your sig picture!! Makes me smile every time I see it. :)

Well, my surgery is 4 days away now (the "offical title" of what I'm doing is a laproscopy lysis of adhesions and hysteroscopic myomectomy). As weird as it sounds, I am very excited about it. Knowing that this is going to help get me pregnant almost makes me wanna do a little dance :woohoo:.

I have bloodwork in the morning, pre-op appointment Tuesday afternoon, and then I told the girls that I would be at work all day after I started my meds, and for about 3 hours on the day of the surgery (surgery floor is 2 floors up from my office). One of the girls who works behind me asked what I was taking for meds, and I told her they prescribed 2 bottles of something called magnesium citrate. Coworker turned almost white and said that there would be NO WAY I'd be at work after drinking that, and I certainly wouldn't be in on Thursday morning. I asked why. She said that it completely cleanses your bowels and that you'd be running to the bathroom every couple of minutes ESPECIALLY if I have to take 2 bottles of the stuff.

I was like this::scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I'm so glad that she told me, otherwise I would have chugged two bottles at my desk!! :drinking1 I'm serious!!

So, after the meds start, I can only have clear liquids until midnight (juice, broth, jell-o, popsicles) and then nothing to eat until after that. I know I'm going to be a grump. Surgery itself is at 2, but I have to be there at 11.

I picked up another bottle of baby aspirin and pre-nates tonight. Paperwork says that I have to abstain from BDing for 2 weeks after the surgery. It works out okay, because my period is supposed to start next week, then the week after should be my "prime time".

And that's my news so far ;)

Good luck with your surgery Gurgi! I hope this is the month for you :). Prime time :lmao:

Does anyone know if you have to take the robitusin when you have EWCM or throughout your whole cycle? I'm a little concerned because we BD'd a lot during "prime time" last cycle and nothing came of it. I think I'm going to take a proactive approach and do the robitussin/grapefruit juice thing.

You know, when I wrote out "prime time", I was totally thinking of this:

Now it will never be the same when I eat there. :sad2:

I think you're supposed to do the cough syrup the week that you're supposed to "o". I'm on the baby aspirin, folic acid and pre-nate regimen right now.....though I may switch to the cough syrup if one of you girls get pregnant with it!!

Gurgi..I hope your surgery goes well!

Vettechick.....thanks so much! I'm still amazed that I was able to get such a good shot of DS on the ride! Your baby girl is adorable. :)

I started taking the Mucinex on CD10. I read different things, but most of them said start about 5 days or so before your O day and take through O.

I'm on CD13 today and had a huge temp spike this morning, so I'm hoping this is it. We've been BD'ing every day for a while. Hopefully DH isn't tired because this looks like prime time is coming up, if not already here!

DH is on a co-ed softball team with his school. Yesterday, DS and I went to watch DH play. I said WATCH, which meant I had on a cute pair of summer shoes. We get there, and I'm begged to play because they are short on girls and if you don't have enough girls, you forfeit. So, I played in my cute shoes. And, the only extra glove they could find was a lefty, so I'm sitting at 3rd base with a left handed glove, cute shoes, and no hat/sunglasses! I actually hit the ball all three times I had to bat and made it to 1st base twice! One of those times I actually scored a run. I was pretty proud of myself. Of course, there was the pop up foul ball that I should have caught but didn't think about it until it was too late. :rolleyes1 And then, towards the end of the game, a girl hit a ball right at me. It was rolling on the ground. I bent down to grab it, but with the lefty glove it was awkward and it HIT me on the ankle. My ankle was swollen yesterday, but looks better today. I'm not limping as much, but it's still very sore!

This is just another reason for me to get that BFP soon! This was their 4th game...and they ONLY one they have won! So now DH says I'm their good luck charm and I have to keep playing. At least next time I'll be better prepared. I can imagine what the other team was saying about me with my cute shoes and make-up on!

Hi Skuttle! Nice job in the softball game!! :thumbsup2 My DH is also on a team....his first game is tomorrow night. ;)

Just wanted to pop in and share....I know everyone's doc says something different about when to BD, etc... and I am certaintly not an expert. But, when I wasn't getting pg, I made an app't with my doc to discuss what was going on. She advised that as soon as I saw EWCM, to wait 36-48 hours to BD. We were BD'ing every day or so - she said that may have been depleting DH's nice high count. She said EWCM is simply the physical "sign" that you will soon O. So when you saw it, to wait the 36-48 hours before you BD. The month I did this, I got pg. Who knows if this was why....but I know DH and I were BD'ig like crazy before trying to hit it exactly at the right time, and nothing was happening. Just wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone.... :goodvibes I know I was willing to try anything to see if it worked!

Oh....and I was also taking Mucinex during the first part of my cycle, and eating plenty of pineapple during the 2WW!

Baby dust and sticky baby dust to all...:goodvibes :goodvibes

I might buy into what your doctor said as well. When I got PG this time DH was out of town for three weeks. I had EWCM in the middle of the week and saw him that Saturday for a day. We concieved DS then ... the only time I was with him the whole month. That was our 8th month of trying.

You STILL haven't had that baby yet? You poor thing. How are you holding up?

Howdy to everyone else. I have been out of town, and have returned to beautiful weather, which makes everyone feel better.

I also came back to a bunch of work on my desk, so I gotta run!

I guess I wouldn't buy into it. My DH and I were BDing about every other day (sometimes every day) for two weeks this last month. I even asked my doctor about what is best about a year ago and she said doing it every other day should not decrease sperm count at all. I've heard daily might, but not every other day. Though supposedly doing it often enough will increase motility since the sperm is "new" Not sure which I believe, but BDing often sure didn't hurt us (we just didn't stop BDing early enough to avoid the last month)

One thing for sure I have been told is that you should try to do it starting at least 4 days before ovulation because sperm can live longer than the egg. The doc told me that temping can actually be detrimental at times since people are waiting to BD on the "right day" and sometimes at that point they actually miss the fertile days. Just my docs opinion though.

Vettechick, you have an adorable sig pic as well!

DMickey, I sure hope your son comes soon. How long will your doc make you wait before pushing for more?

Gurgi, good luck with the surgery!

Allison, I hope for your sake you get that BFP soon ;) I am not sure I would have been quite so willing to play. Then again I suck at baseball and softball :p

No DS yet!! I have my next appointment Wednesday Morning and he will do a U/S and talk induction at that point.

As of last Wednesday I was 80% effaced, 1CM dialated and 0 station. Progress from 70% effaced, Fingertip dialated and -1 Station the Thursday before. I have been walking like crazy so I am hoping for more progress this week. Based on the Bishop Scoring, I feel somewhat comfortable with an induction. I am really scared of going too long ... My Placenta was starting calcify (is that the right word?) two weeks ago and my fluid levels where fine. How do you know what the right balance is between waiting to go natural and induction??? It's such a FINE balance ... I sometimes think the worry at the end is just as bad as the worry in the beginning. You have gone so far and am so fearful that something could go wrong at this stage.

Wish me luck ... maybe all the cleaning this AM will do something ...

GOOD LUCK GIRLS ...

Know what's weird for me? I never got to talk to a doctor about anything. I originally had an appointment on March 20th but had to cancel because of work. So I moved it to April 10th. Instead of talking about getting pregnant and what to do, I WAS pregnant and couldn't believe it! I can remember the first time DH and I BD'd. On the 11th of March that was one of my fertile days and the 12th of March was my very fertile day! We'd BD'd then and on the 14th I believe. I had lowered my caffeine intake a month or so prior and was taking a multivitamin about a month and a half prior to becoming pregnant. One cycle was all it took for me. I hope I'm blessed to get pregnant that easy again on the next one. We do want two. DH said maybe this is twins. I told him STOP THAT! :faint: When I found out I was pregnant I told DH that he's pretty good. :rotfl: His "little friend" didn't waste anytime at all getting the job done! ;)
Now....MAKE THIS MORNING SICKNESS STOP!! :headache:
I hope all you girls are doing well! Looking for some BFPs soon. Haven't had any in a while.

Blessings always to all of you! :flower3:

DMickey, a friend of mine had the same issues with the idea of inducing. Hers was medically brought on though (severe toxemia) and she wound up being induced (much against her hopes) a month early. She said in the end it was the best choice and doesn't regret it at all. The part that upset her most was having to have pain killers since the inducing makes it more painful. I'm not sure how long I could wait myself, but as long as the baby is fine and not too big, I might let it go a bit longer.

Denise, sorry you feel so sick. I do okay as long as I eat enough (which honestly isn't a lot lately) and stick to carbs only pretty much. Drinking gingerale helps me too (room temp is even better). You can try the preggie drops that they sell, but I totally hated the pops version of it all. They were mostly nasty and made me gag. Supposedly per my doc B6 helps as well as the sea bands and unisom. You have your doc appt tomorrow though, right? Good luck with it and I hope they also have ideas to make you feel better.

DMickey - I am hoping against hope that you do not have to be induced. I had one labor induced, and one not, and I much prefered the one not induced. I didn't even know I was in labor until about 2 hours before Emily was born. Although my contractions were strong once I realized that is what they were, it was quick.

I never would have gotten through my induced labor without en epidural. They couldn't get my very painful contractions to do anything until they turned the pitocin way up, and I couldn't stand that until I had an epidural. It was really awful. (that being said, there are many women who have had not problem with their inductions!)
