Any other daycare's that have a "no pullups" rule?

1st DS - director of daycare (small daycare) wanted pullups until he was completely trained. She wasn't encouraging him to go to the bathroom. He was fully trained at home, but not at daycare. Disaster. Took forever.

2nd DS - No pull-ups rule. He had the training pants and rubber pants. Worked like a charm.

Get the thick training pants and the rubber pants. Much, much cheaper, also.

This was 11 years ago. I don't think training pants are an issue.

:rotfl2: What's up with all the zombie threads lately?

I was surprised to see that I was one of the first to post since my dd is now 25 and having her own baby. When she was 14, I had a much clearer memory of the whole potty training thing.

Apparently these people pulling up old threads don't have ad blockers and are seeing 'suggested threads' at the bottom of the screen..this is one of the older one's I've seen though. I would think the kids would be potty trained by now?

I have never potty trained kids, but I have worked with kids who take a long time to stay dry through the night. Also, kids who are dealing with adults who can't come to a consensus on potty training, and are doing things differently at dad's house, mom's house and grand mom's house seem to have a hard time. Adding another type of fancy diaper (and it is just a diaper, just like Depends are diapers) that these companies push to try to keep kids in diapers as long as possible seems like it would be confusing to a child. Kids are pretty concrete in their thinking.

After I read this, I downloaded an ad blocker. I can't believe how much faster the boards run!

DD's has the same policy. I think it's a good idea because pullups actually can delay many kids. IMO they just give kids carte blanche to go in it rather than try to get to the bathroom. With underpants the child will be uncomfortable if he/she has an accident and may try harder the next time to get to the bathroom. The thick training underpants are really absorbent by the way.

BTW, your DS is a real cutie pie :D .

LOL! I wish the two year olds in the daycare I work at felt that way! They absolutely do not care (and believe me, I've dealt with many, many kids who feel that way). Pull-Ups can be a lifesaver when you are trying to potty train 15-17 2 year olds.

It's the scrolling "Suggested Threads" at the bottom of the page. Many old threads pop up there, and people click on them, and reply, thinking they are current. We all have to be more diligent about checking those original posting dates.

I don't think so, as I had just visited Long Island day care centre, but I did not found any such rule. They provide all the facilities which are essential and important for kids. As I am a working mom, I think day care centres are the best choice.

Diligence is good but I think we should tell the Dis to stop running it. What's the point of them advertising such ancient threads when we are ON the board those ancient threads are on, talking about more current things? It makes no sense.

Agree 100%. I think the point of them is to keep you on the site longer, which is fine, but for crying out loud, can't they cap the suggested posts to ones within the last several months??

In other updates, today, in the year 2015--PullUps have velcro on the sides--easy on, easy off.

That's a good rule. Pull ups are just a crutch that delays potty training. We started using them with our first child -- they were very expensive, and she didn't have any problem with simply not going to the bathroom; after all, she was wearing a fancy diaper. When we quit the pull ups, she was completely potty trained within a week or so.

I liked your first reply better 11 years ago, on page 1 of this thread. LOL
