Any moms go alone with their kids?

I take my three year old to parks A LOT! We have APs to Disney, Sea World and Cypress Gardens. I'd say we go at least twice a week. Usually just a few hours. But...I never see other moms alone. Tell me I'm not the only mom out there that does this.

I think it is great that you are able and willing to take your child on your own! Many single parents do it as well. I remember a few trips with my dad after my parents' divorce (way back when...). I personally prefer a "one parent per child" defense in the theme parks but that is because

1- my kids are still quite young (4 and 6)
2- I have asthma. Humidity kills me and I sometimes need to hit the inhaler and regroup.
3- one of my kids has autism and requires serious supervision (she is a runner!)
4- odd-numbered groups don't work well on some rides

If it works for you, cool! :teeth: I would do it if I felt I could - maybe I will when they are older and slightly more predictable!

I can not imagine taking more than 1 kid!!! Will wears me out. He has Sensory Intergration Dysfunction so in many ways I use theme parks as therapy for him.

I am a single parent and have a DD6. I am taking her by myself on our upcoming trip (26 days and counting!!!) :thumbsup2

I just got back from a week trip just me and DS6 and DD12! Hubby couldnt it make the trip. It was fun! The odd number for rides was ok too, DD is old enough to go by herself. She did the single rider line at EE!

YES!

When I lived in SoCal I was at Disneyland at least 1-2 times per month with just the kids.

I even ventured a week long trip to WDW with the kids and no husband along!

We had a great time!

You must live really close to Disney. :cool1: We live in South Florida, so we are about a 2 1/2 hour drive. Not too bad. I would love to take my kids alone to Disney but my 2yo cant ride everything my 6 year old can. So DH or someone else has to always come.

Will you adopt me? popcorn::

If you are potty trained I will adopt you!
We are close. I live about 20 min from WDW. But sadly I move to GA in a week.

A friend of mine recently lost her husband and I was wondering if there are any single parent clubs that visit WDW as a group?

I take DD (3.5) all the time by ourselves. We have AP's to Disney and Sea World as well, but I'm not going to renew the Sea World passes until she's older (whenever we go there, we end up leaving after a couple of hours and going over to Disney...I guess it's just not for us).

We usually go once every week or two for a day trip. DH rarely comes along, he only likes to go if we are staying overnight.

We have a great time every time, neither of us could think of anywhere else to spend mom/daughter time.

You said you are moving to GA...I think we would die of withdrawal!

I only have the Sea world pass because they give them to teachers for free. We like Disney much better. My son calls it Mickey's house.
As for moving...it stinks. But my family is all here for we will be back often.

I went by myself for 5 days with my two year old and five year old. Well, I guess I wasn't alone since I went with a friend. But she had her two and five year olds too. We had a great time!

The 2 oldest kids and I had APs a couple of years ago and we went a few times a month while DH was at work. Now that we have the baby (18months now) I only go when DH can either watch the baby or go with us. If I ever tried to take all three of them alone (or all four after the new baby comes in November) it will be indisputable proof that I have finally lost my mind ;)
This year we have water park tickets...I'd never take the kids there without DH. I couldn't keep track of them :)
I've seen other moms alone with kids, but usually I'm paying too much attention to my own kids and all the fun stuff to notice the composition of other family's.

and I have taken my kids alone and sometimes I take someone with me.....I am taking them alone this Nov for 11 nights and they are DDs 10, 6, 3 and a DDs 9 months at the time of vacation!

Up until this past Fall, I was a single Mom to my DS with Autism. We've gone to WDW every year since he was 6. A couple of those years, we went with someone else (my Mom or my now husband) but for a few years, it was just the two of us. It was a really wonderful time for the two of us, filled with many, many magical memories!
:wizard:
freckles and boo --> I also have asthma and a child with ASD. Touring the parks definitely gets easier as they get older...although my DS now has a touring plan of his own that we must stick to!
:rotfl:
We still use our GAC to help make touring the parks a little easier for all of us.

Do I count as a Disney Dad that took the kids by self? .... at least for a couple days until wife flew in a couple days later
