Any major Member Events besides cruises?

We had a great time at the SSR grand opening event (I think it was 3 days) back in May 2004. I haven't seen any grand opening events since, for any of the new resorts. Is the cruise the only annual event? It doesn't work for us members with school-age kids, taking them out the second or third week of school. Do you think I will have to wait until 2020 when my son is in college before I can experience another member event?

yea it is about time that they planned an event for those of us who did not cruise.

They also have the Merry Mixer during December - this year is was on Thursday - it had been our first year and we had a great time. Each family gets a keepsake ornament, there are drinks and a treat (rice krispy version) for each person. TONS of activites for the kids - my girls had a BLAST and a pin for sale - avaliable only during the event - I think. There is also character meet and greets. We really enjoyed this perk to our membership!!!

Thanks for the tip - maybe I'll have to plan a Dec trip! I am hoping for a grand opening in Hawaii...
