:wizard: We have a trip planned in late September for French Quarter which has been our "go to" resort for years. I understand the refurb began back in May and was certain by September the rooms in many buildings would be complete. At this point that doesn't seem realistic. Does anyone have an information, other than what Disney has posted, about the progress on the refurbs? Trying to decide whether we should keep our reservations of change to another resort. Thanks!

I can’t believe nothing has come out yet. No specs or rumors of what new rooms will even look like. Also surprised if they started in May they don’t have any rooms completed by now. Also waiting to hear!

I heard they were working on buildings 1 and 2 an likely wouldn't release any rooms until those two are done. Not sure if it's true or not.

My family member requested a room in building 4 via TP’s room request service for a trip the end of this month. She got a call from the resort a few days later. The CM told her that building 4 would be under construction at the time of her trip & asked if she had a different request instead. Hopefully that means buildings 1 & 2 might be opening soon. 🤞🏻

Someone on the Port Orleans FB group posted that building 1 is almost complete and that he’d got a glimpse inside. Apparently building 3 is empty.

Is this the kind of thing they might release info about at D23? Might explain why there hasn’t been any so far?

I have a trip 8/17-8/31, also requested building 4 through TP and haven’t heard anything. I’ll report back on check in day.

I arrive 9/1. I am going to ask at check in for a new room. 🤞🏻

As will everyone who checks in once a building is reopened. I wouldn't let getting one make or break your trip because odds are slim if its only one building done.

For anyone wanting to change to another resort, others have previously stated in the main POFQ thread that with 2 buildings closed there are 30% less people at the resort, at the bus stop, at the pool, etc.
Excellent point!!!

No, this is too tiny for D23. Disney holds back on releasing renovated room info, pics usually hit blogs before Disney says anything. Once Disney stays something then everyone knows and will expect they will get a renovated room.

That makes sense. It would be nice to see them but I suppose we’ll have to wait until someone stays in them. We go in just over 3 weeks so not expecting a new room. I love the rooms anyway so not overly bothered.

Ya I have another trip in Oct at POR that I could move to POFQ if i don’t get it.

I missed getting a new room several times at BWI when they started to be available. It happens.

We are staying at Riverside. We took the boat to ds yesterday. They were working on a few buildings. Building 3 and 5 for what we could see. When we walk there last week there was no construction on building 4-6-7 yet.
Thanks for the information!

We were just at Riverside and noticed how small the numbers of French quarter people were taking the bus. At animal kingdom close 3 FQ busses came (and no riverside busses in that time). 2 or 3 people got on each French quarter bus while the Riverside queue was full. I said we should just have taken a FQ bus and walked to Riverside. Finally a bus came for us and it also picked up French quarter apparently because it stopped there on the way back to Riverside. I am guessing because the transportation supervisor finally came over and had them combine. But it was obvious how few people were at FQ

I'm curious if buildings 1,2 and 3 are all closed right now. If so, then FQ is at half capacity?
