Has anybody used mousepinsonline.com? They have really good deals, but I'm a little suspicious because I got an unsolicited pm from someone with 0 posts suggesting it. I'd like to know if it's legit.

Thanks!

It looks legit that's the good news now the not so good news it looks like the motherlode of Sedesma pins :sad2:

I was the one who sent you the pm about mousepinsonline. I actually have never posted publically before, but I am a lurker from way back. I wouldn't be posting publically now except for the comment about the pins from mousepins being Sedesma pins. I don't know what would have led the other poster to draw that conclusion, and I didn't think it was fair to the site to let that comment stand uncorrected.

I can tell you that the pins we received were definitely not Sedesma pins. I know Sedesma pins because we received some through Ebay and were not happy with them.

From our communications with the owners of the mousepins site, none of their pins are Sedesma pins (we checked before ordering). They are all ProPins which are from a different company altogether.

We ordered the grab bag, and received a really nice assortment of high quality pins. They even threw a couple of extra pieces of ProPin merchandise in with our order. All of the pins we got say ProPin on the back along with the Disney stamp. If you look at PinPics.com, you will see that ProPin is a German company whereas Sedesma pins are made in Spain.

My dh and I are WDW fanatics --- so much so that we just had to join the DVC in 1999, and have been annual passholders since then. Our dds began pin trading a couple of years ago, and we are always looking for less expensive ways to support their habit. My husband had gotten fed up with Ebay when we received the Sedesma pins. We came across mousepinsonline and decided to give it a try. We were really pleased. I assure you the site is legitimate. I can also assure you that none of the pins we received were Sedesma pins.

Not to "gild the lily", but the pins we received were as nice as any we have bought for three or four times the price at WDW. We were impressed enough that we just ordered more pins from the site for our upcoming May trip!!!!

Hope this clears up any questions you might have.

I never said they were Sedesma pins I said it "looks like" Sedesma pins.

To me there is little difference between the two pin makers. I quess it's not my cup of tea.

what is a sedesma pin and why are they bad?

Let me just say they are NOT bad pins I'm just saying they are not my personal favorites. In fact some people just love them.

Thanks for the further info. Mouseypins, I didn't mean to impugn your integrity, but I'm very suspicious of things that come across the internet these days, so I wanted to check it tout. I do appreciate the tip and I plan to try out the site. Thanks.

I didn't mean to sound so defensive. I didn't want the site to get a negative reputation that it didn't deserve. Hope the information is useful to you and other readers looking for a good site to buy inexpensive pins for trading. Now back to lurking.

I looked at their site and found they are using pins from Germany from a company called ProPins. I have some of their pins; they tend to be much smaller than those sold by Disney and the quality does not appear to be much higher than those made by Sedesma in Spain. Also, it looks as if they have been buying sets and then breaking them apart. For example, I noticed that have some Beagle Boys pins, which, according to www.Pinpics.com , were only sold in sets.

I don't have any problems with ProPins- I've had some and they're not as nice as pins bought at WDW but they trade as good as any others. I just wanted to make sure I'll get what I order; that it's a legit site.

I’m like mouseypins, I like to stay in the background and read. But after reading what cheshire figment posted I got my kids pins out. I know they have some sedesma pins but I was looking to see if they had any pins made by propin and they did. After looking at the pins I’m puzzled why cheshire would make such a statement. To my eyes the size difference was insignificant but as far as quality, I see a big difference. It’s not hard to see that the propins are far superior in how they look and feel. I even put the propin pins next to some other Disney pins we have purchased at WDW through the years and I didn’t see any significant difference. I haven’t ordered from mousepinsonline (yet) but if I can save money buying pins for my kids to trade, or keep if they choose, whose not for that? But even though, after comparing pins, I think cheshire view is wrong I must give credit to cheshire for making me do something I said I would never do, post on DIS.

Well, this is a pretty significant thread, then, having lured not one but TWO lurkers out of hiding ;) Welcome to DIS and beware- more than one of us who thought we'd never post are now up over a thousand :)

I have found better deals on the real disney pins. I don't see these (or the deal at "mouspins") as being all that special.

Just wanted to post and let anyone who is interested know that we did order two grab bags of trading pins from mousepinsonline.com for our kids to trade on our upcoming WDW trip. We received the pins, and are very pleased with them. We received only pins that were shown on the website and only one duplication. They must have mailed the order the day we placed it because we got the order really quickly. Everything went without a hitch. They even threw in a hand-held fan with the order for free! The pins are really cute -- our kids immediately claimed some of them. Nice to find an inexpensive alternative to e-bay.

For anyone who may need pins and lanyard. I went to mousepinsonline.com to purchase some pins for my sister and her family who have decided to go to Disney with us and saw that mousepins has a pin traders special listed now.
