any Disney stockholders here?

Does anyone know about how far in advance we would get the official notification of the meeting and the voting material?

I called Shareholder services in California today. According to the recording, the annual report and the stockholders meeting info were mailed on January 23rd. That would put it in most mailboxes probably by the weekend.

WDSearcher,
The company has not had a meeting in Florida or California since all the serious anti-Ei$ner grumbling started approximately 7 years ago. The company announced they were having the meetings all over the country to allow more stockholders to attend. At the time, there were a lot of comments about Ei$ner just running away from the Cast Members in Florida and California.

How many shares do you need to vote? Are there enough shares owned by others than ME to acually accomplish voting him out? This will be interesting!:D

You got one share, you get to vote. Even if there is not enough shares to vote Eisner and crew out, the idea is to get a message out to him and wall street that something is wrong and now is the time change things.

Don't get into that mindset of what's the use there isn't enough votes to get rid of him.

My dad use to say the 100 percent way to not accomplish something is to decide not to try and do nothing. If you try, you may have a chance to accomplish it.

So, if you have even one share of stock and don't want Eisner around, vote against him. Who knows, it might happen. Don't vote and it won't.

GO FOR IT !!!!!!!!

Because, of course, there is absolutely no way for anyone from California or Florida to travel to Marceline or Philadelphia or Denver or Chicago. It's not like they're scheduling stockholder meetings in Hawaii, Alaska or some inaccessible town in the middle of nowhere, USA. If you feel strongly enough and have something to say, you can easily get to the meetings. If not, you have your proxy votes.

It might be a bit more inconvenient for me, living in Florida, to make it to a stockholder meeting in PA, but my friends and relatives in NYC, Maryland and Pennsylvania are sure happy about it!

:earsboy:

I won't be attending the meeting but did receive the email from Roy Disney. I will be voting NO to Ei$ner and the collaborators.

Especially now that we lost Pixar.

--->hummm....imagine what could happen if the CM's were paid a living wage! ;)

I called Disney shareholders number and was also told I shoudl receive my proxy next week. Both my husband and I have stock, in addition to our two daughters that were given Disney stocks from their great grandmother before she passed away. I will be voting NO.

I live on Long Island and will probably attend the stock holders mtg. I have not attended one in the past, but am very interested in the on goings for this one.

Philly is not to far away for me to drive. See you all there.

I do own Disney stock.

Go get'em Doom Buggy. Please vote "NO" on the re-election of Michael Eisner, George Mitchell, Judith Estrin, and John Bryson. It's time for a major overhaul. Save Disney! :(

lodgelady, was Roy's open letter to stockholders in the mial with the proxy and report? I was confused on that....
I emailed Roy's site and they said we wodul be getting the proxys soon along with Roy's letter.

Hi Shan! My understanding is that there is a proxy form you can download form Roy's site. There was also an indication that there would be proxys mailed, but I am not clear if that applies to every stockholder. Hope this helps!:wave2:

I am a shareholder but will not be at the meeting. I will be voting against those mentioned by Roy in the proxy. I do hope that some order will take place at the meeting and someone on the shareholders behalf will calmly ask these people to step down. It will mean so much more if it comes from someone whose emotions wont get the better of them. Eisner and the others know there is tons of opposition against them right now. Let them go peacefully and let us get our beloved Disney back to where it needs to be.

I called shareholder services again today. The latest word is that the Annual Reports and voting info was mailed out today.

Make sure that you vote your shares, any vote not cast is considered at "yes" vote to retain the Board of Directors.

That's not something unique to Disney stock. Any company you own stock in sends you proxy statements at voting time, and if you don't bother to send them back, they take that as a "yes." Silence implies consent. It's not convenient ... it's the standard.

:earsboy:

I'm afraid WDSearcher is right. Not voting is considered a yes vote. This is standard procedure in all companies.

So, what does this mean? Eisner is hoping that those against him do not vote.
