I guess for us newbies. 2 dollars sounds great for a DVD. I mean it takes a minute to shoot. So i am happy for two bucks. But if I had been getting paid more for awhile I may be upset.
Naaaa, not upset at all. Things change, things get old, it's no big deal. I almost look forward to not doing expo at all, if that makes sense, so if they reduce the DVDs to $2, ok, next! lol
I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but I've been shooting expo reviews for myself and family members since July and it just gets to the point that if it's not a $5 payout, it's just not worth it for us.
You'll see the longer you do expo, that it really does require more than one minute. We set up the shot, take the shot, transfer the shot, upload the shot, make sure the house is quiet, make sure no planes are flying overhead, make sure no horns are honking outside, no construction, no birds are chirping (yes, someone got mass rejections for that!) and then wait to see if it gets rejected for heaven knows what other reason. Oh yes, here's one - "review spoils plot".... lol... It just wears you down after a while.
There are expenses involved as well: batteries, camera, wear on camera, battery chargers, AC adapters,
your valuable time, and more. In the beginning we were very excited. I think more than anything, it's the c*ap shoot of getting your review rejected when you know you've done a great job and followed the rules. Expo is like calling Disney CRO for reservations or codes - you are at the mercy of whoever answers the phone at Disney and at expo, you are at the mercy of whoever reviews your review.
Like I said, not trying to diminish the excitement for newbies, but as an oldie, lol, that's how I feel.
