Another way to make a little extra cash for our Disney funds

Hi all! Thanks for this post. I'm going to post videos tomorrow. I noticed that depending on what you review is what the money is based on. So if your first few reviews aren't very clever but are a minute long & of things like strollers/carseats do I still get the $10.00 even if I'm not a great reviewer?

I'm planning on doing maybe 5 to 10 tomorrow on: my new fridge, my baby's car seat & stroller, my new make-up, a few cleaning supplies, etc. Some are worht $2, some $5, some $10. Will this work? I'm both excited & nervous!

They can reject reviews for many reasons, so don't get upset if they turn one down. The item has to be in their database to get the max amount (my fridge wasn't, and it's a new Kenmore) or they just pay $2 with a link showing it's nationally available. Also pay attention to lighting (they like to see your face), audio, and make sure your review is informative (not just, I like it, I like it a lot.) But considering what you're reviewing, it should be easy to speak about all those things since you use them everyday.

Did anyone else get the email about them exceeding their DVD review limit?:confused3

My laziness just came back to bite me since I was planning on doing DVD reviews, but they have to be posted by noon today to qualify for the promotion. Not happening.

Any opinions on if they will drop the price to $2?

I think they'll either drop it to $2 or put a limit on how many you can submit per month. I see the problem, as you search the newest videos, only about one video to every 2 pages is NOT a movie. But too bad, they are the easiest to make!

I did 6 DVD reviews yesterday, but did not upload them. I saw the message when I went to upload this morning. They all got approved. I was planning on doing about 3 more for the month, so luckily I got those 6 done yesterday.

I still have about 15 videos for the month before my max is reached.

FYI- they cut it off early! its only 10:45 eastern standard time, and I've had 5 videos rejected until the first. I hope this is just a glitch!

I didn't get mine done in time, and I know I won't get them done in the next 40 minutes (if they didn't actually cut off early like iheartdisney said.)

I won't be surprised if the DVD rate goes down. The site is overrun with DVD reviews because they are almost neverending, easy to do, and a higher paying category. I'd hate to see that though, because then the quality of those reviews would go down too.

They fixed the glitch, so all mine got through... yippie!
I agree mean queen...I think the guys that really put the effort into DVD reviews won't bother for $2.

I hope they keep at $5 too. I still have a lot of them to do.

Have they ever done this type of thing before? Cutting off a specific submission type before the end of the month?

Oh no! I knew I shouldn't have procrastinated...so they've stopped dvds in the $5 category? Are there any other changes? Darn it!!

I just glanced at it and didn't pay any attention to the fact that it was 12:00pm, I was thinking it was midnight tonight since the other times they cut promotions short it was midnight. We only have about 5 more DVDs but we were going to those this evening. Oh well. I do agree that they aren't worth doing for $2. I just can't seem to get motivated anymore since we are out of $5 and $10 items. I do a few of the $2 items here and there but it'll take every ounce of motivation I've got to hit the 50 cap this month.

I'm still chugging away on the $2 reviews in hopes of getting some of the bonus money again. I had 7 chosen in December without really trying to make better videos. I'm hoping trying this month will get me even more bonus picks.

Thanks for reminding me. I keep forgetting about that bonus. I had 4 receive bonuses in Dec without trying and DH had 12 so I guess I need to keep at it!

I have been out of DVD's to review for a while now, I will NOT be surprised if they go down to $2. I am surprised they are still at $5. I find them boring to watch and can hardly find something that isn't a review of a dvd to watch.

I too have been out of $5 and $10 items for quite some time now it is extremely hard to keep motivated to make anything! I usually just don't sit down anymore to make them but if I am cooking or something and DH is around then sometimes I'll ask him to film me.

Newbie...

If my wife signs up can we both review the same products?? We only have so many $10 items!

Thanks

Unfortunately, no. While you can both have accounts, you can not review the same products. I do not agree with that, as DH and I have different opinions about many products. However, expo sticks very firmly by these rules.

GOOD LUCK!

okay, I just joined and tried to do a video adn this is what I got
The file "Whirlpool Gold.mov" exceeds the maximum file size of 50MB

Can you guys help me? I would love to just make 20-30 dollars a month and this looks like a great way to do it. But I may need some beginning help.

I always run my movies through Windows movie maker, if they need editing or not, to shrink them.
HTH!

For those of you who have filed your taxes:
How did you report your income? If we report it as box 7 (non-employee compensation), then we have to file SE taxes on it, which is another 15.3%! I think some on here have reported it as hobby income, prize winnings, ect. However, some people on the expo forum have insisted that it must be filed as non-employee compensation and that we MUST pay SE tax. So, what did you guys do? I don't want to get in trouble with the IRS, but I don't want to have to pay SE taxes if I don't have to. I truly don't feel self employed! TIA
