we will travel with my daughter and her family
of course we are assigned / linked at the same table

someone told me if we were to come in the same véhicule you port and one of us is positive
all of us would be turned away
is that so ?
we will use dcl transportation so if I follow that lead all the bus would be turned away ?

I think it’s if you all fly together and have been around each other for a day or two before the cruise. I don’t think taking DCL shuttle there all together will cause you to be turned away.

DCL transportation is not considered the same as a private vehicle. So no, if someone else arriving on your bus tests positive that will not impact everyone else on the bus. Last I knew, masks are required on the bus, that may be why.

However, if you and your daughter's family are traveling together, you will be considered one "travel party" regardless of how many staterooms are booked onboard. So yes if any one of you tests positive, all will be denied boarding.

Yeah me and my good friend and our daughters are cruising together. But since this is still in effect we opted to use the DCL bus to get from the airport to the port instead of hiring a private vehicle for the 4 of us. Just in case.

I was thinking about this with our upcoming trip. We are a family, but we are flying in separately from different states and will be staying in different rooms the night before the cruise. If we travel separately, or on big group transport, if one person tested positive, would we all be denied boarding just because our reservations are linked?

As long as you don't hang out together before the cruise (hotel) and you travel separately (OR via DCL bus) then you're ok. Just think of it like at home (well in Canada this is how it was until recently), if you tested positive you'd let people know who you had close contact with to also quarantine as they should assume they caught it from you. So if you spent time together before the cruise and then someone tests positive at the port they would deny all of you boarding. It isn't an automatic because you're linked so don't worry about that.

Yes, I believe that's true. But in the same vein -- unless the kids are under age 5, they won't be tested onboard unless they develop symptoms (same as an adult). Since all kids 5+ need to be vaccinated, I wouldn't really worry that "kids" in general will have a higher likelihood of testing positive onboard. Children <5 will be tested on the next-to-last day if the cruise is at least 5 nights long.

Probably because it's an hours-long hold to get through to DCL by phone. And lots of helpful people here can report recent experiences.

As noted, if you arrive at the port via DCL transfers, and one person tests positive, not everyone will be denied. Now, I think that all persons in the positive person's room will be denied, but the other room's occupants wouldn't be.

I could be wrong on the last thing.
