Another big thunder crash

I can't accept operator error. If the switch plate was in the wrong position, then the rear train should have been locked down. Disney opened this attraction back up without everything being resolved.

The fact that the injuries were minor is pure luck. It could have been much worse.

Shut the ride down permanently. I won't be going back to DL. WDW gets my cash instead.

The first, tragic crash, was due to lack of training and improper procedures being followed for maintanence. The second was blamed on operator error. This third, during normal operations, simply cannot be explained away.

I am really upset with Disneyland Management.

That's fine, but next time I'm at DL with the ride open, I'll be on it. The injuries wouldn't have been more than minor considering where the accident happened--the trains aren't moving very fast in this area. I figured it was either Op-Error or a computer malfunction.

Oh please. It all goes to the same place.

Actually the new Disneyland management has been doing incredible things for the resort lately. Let's wait before we place blame. I'm just confused because the state signed the ride off as being safe after the first incident.

This is very sad :( As much as I hope it will be open for my trip in a couple of weeks, I do understand if it needs to be kept shut down.

I admit it does bother me a little that three accidents can happen (minor or not) in such a short time....

We usually hit this ride really late at night since it's my daughter's favorite (with space mountain closed, anyway) and she likes to ride it OVER AND OVER. I think one night we managed to ride it 8 times

The last time we rode it was on the night of July 6th. Everytime I ride BTMRR now I think about the young man that died back in September. I didn't notice that the CMs do anything *differently* when loading that ride. I don't really know what I expected, but I definitely didn't feel any *safer* riding it than before. And I have to admit that, when were told to go sit up front (behind the locomotive that killed the guy back in September), I actually said, "Can we sit in the back instead"? I just didn't trust it.

Then the day after we got home we heard about this accident. I think knowing it was operator error IS WORSE than it being a malfunction. BTMRR reopened only AFTER Disneyland retrained the staff and maint team that works on that attraction per OSHA. So what does this say, that Disney doesn't know how to train their CM's properly???????

It actually wasn't operator error. It was a computer glitch.

I have read other places that did name who was writing the article that it seems to be a computer failure. I did list where I got my info. The unnamed person has a tendency to bother me. I am assuming it was a CM who wrote it and still wanted thier job. I just hope that Disneyland and the Ocupational folks from the state get it right for good and in a timely manner.
