Okay, I was just reading another thread regarding add-ons. DH and I are looking to add on 100 SSR points. Is the price per point $91? Also, are there any closing fees?

We had found a 100pt contract at Timeshare store. It was for $85 a pt, 48 2006 pts remain, with closing , dues, the end price would be $9309.00

If we purchase 100 pts thru DVC @ $91 = $9100. all 2006 pts available. If the closing fees are roughly $300 that would be $9400.00 Only $90. difference and I wouldn't have to worry about ROFR, points would be in our acct. immediately, etc. Right??? I guess I would have to add the MF for 07 into this price as well which would be *I don't know* $300 or so, I guess that could bump it up to $9700.00

Am I making sense or do I have it all wrong? I've got a call into our guide but he won't be in until Monday and I would like to be able to discuss this w/ DH over the weekend and call Timeshare store or DVC on Monday.

How much do you think it would cost to add-on thru DVC for 100 pts. @ SSR.

Thanks for any help.

If you purchase direct through Disney there are no closing costs - they pay them.

we just added on 65 points at SSR...talked to our guide Tuesday..by Wednesday the points showed up on-line and by Friday we had the paperwork. No closing costs.

Good luck :)

No closing costs through Disney. Your dues will be pro-rated from your purchase date. If you purchased today, you would owe 254 days worth of dues, about $287 ($4.12 * 100 * 254 / 365) That figure drops about $1.12 per day. You get the points right away but do not have to pay the 2007 dues until you close.

Thanks for the quick replies. Is $91/pt right as well? If so, it looks like it's cheaper (well, no more expensive) & easier to go thru DVC for the add on.

For this number of points it will likely be cheaper through DVC directly and certainly not enough savings to make it worthwhile. One point is that those buying retail from DVC as a new purchase (not already members) are paying some closing costs but generally less than resale.

Hey Summer...what was the per point cost for that 65 point contract? If you don't mind me asking? I'm thinking of doing he exact same thing and was wondering if after the closing costs that a resale was just as expensive as buying direct.

Yes I believe the current price for SSR is $101 with a $10/pt incentive if you purchase at least 50 points. The price is going up June 4th (or 5th) to $104. It's not clear if the incentive is also expiring at that time.

Good luck!

Thanks, I don't have to worry about June 4th, I can't wait that long:teeth:. My guide is suppose to call me on Monday. I've already taken care of the toughest part - DH.:)
