Annual Passes and Magic bands

We recently purchased Annual passes at the Disney store for our trip in August. Can I order Magic bands for our trip or do I have to wait till the tickets are activated at the park one our first day. I already linked them to my "My Disney Experience" account but they only show up as cards not bands. Thanks in advance. I am so confused, please help!

You should be able to go under "my Magicbands and Cards" and there will soon be a pending MB order you can customize and enter an address where you want them shipped. I'm not sure how long it takes to show up as we had ours for a while before you started getting MBs for them.

Those should be AP vouchers that you have to redeem at Guest Services. You have to redeem them (and start the clock on your year of use) prior to you being able to receive the magic bands.

I have the same issue and am going at the same time. I had another thread on this, and the consensus was that you could NOT order Magic Bands via MDE until those passes were activated. Instead, you activate them at the gate, and then they will ship them to your house. Which is ludicrous. I dropped $2500 on Annual Passes, and will only be able to use them next year.

It wasn't 100% clear, but people thought you might be able to get generic maigc bands at the time you activate them at the gate, although that might require a trip to Guest Services at the park.

Yet another piece of evidence to suggest that Disney's "vision" as pertains to this technology is poorly thought out.

If you are staying on property, you can link the AP to the band after it has been activated and use the band for your admission media. If you don't have access to the Internet, I know the lobby concierge can help,and probably guest relations too.
