ok, if I get a room rate only with the AP and want to add the Dream Makers Silver Plan can I do that with out a problem? There will be 5 Adults and 2 kids traveling. If I'm the only one with the AP can the rest of them get the silver plan and can I get the silver plan also? I guess I will assume I will need to purchase the silver plan also and then I'll have 2 passes for myself. Does this sound correct? Now I wondering if my son decides to take a friend could that friend use one of the passes but not be on the silver plan package with us and pay himself for the things that we decide to do with the points. Hope I'm making sense?

The silver plan is just like the discovery magic plan from last year.

Where you get 2 points per person per night that you stay. If you go to www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and on the left side of the page go to WDW and then down to packages it will explain everything. We did this plan last year and loved it. We now think it is the only way to go.

I have an email out to Disney on this same topic. DH and I both have AP and we want to do the Silver Plan, but obviously do not want to pay for the hopper pass that we will not need. As soon as I get a response, I will post it.

Well a bump here because we use to always do the gold plan before we started going more than once a year. Would love to add it on if possible.

I have been told that no you cannot take the UPH off of a package but I do know that you can get a discount on the silver plan if you have an AP. As with anything Disney if one cm says you can't try try again. Ahnalira from ourlaughingplace.com just did the Silver Plan (not called that in 2002) in December and she was able to get a discount as she is an annual pass holder but they wouldn't take the UPH off.

It depends, if you add your son's friend to the reservation right from the start he would have to be on the same plan as everyone else. If you add him on when you get there (just make sure you have enough beds for everyone) they will work with you on it. This may have changed so check a few times with Disney to see what kind of answers you get.

From what I've been told, you can not get the Dreammaker silver plan WITHOUT the passes. As well as getting an AP room discount. Also, I think you can get UPH tickets for other members of your family, if some have an AP, but I do not believe you can get packages, since everyone in the same room has to be on the same package. Disney used to have years ago, where you could add meals to any room for a price, I believe it was called Disney Style dining or something like that. It didn't get a very good response so they stopped that program. If you want a silver package, you'll have to book it for everyone in the room, and not have your room booked on an AP rate.

I wish you could still add meal plans to rooms. Disney used to do the Food -N- Fun program-it was great. We did it twice. The first year I did it you got breakfast and dinner each day plus 2 coupons (per day per person) for "fun" options. You could use the coupons for boat rentals (water mice, speedboats, pontoons, etc.), horse back riding, golf and even Breathless and pontoon rentals to see Illuminations!!! The second time we used it you could choose breakfast, lunch or dinner (any 2 meals) each day along with your fun options. At your meals you got a drink, apptizer, meal, dessert and coffee. Tip was included so the servers encouraged you to order non-alcoholic frozen drinks and the pricey meals. They were very helpful in choosing:) I think Disney was loosing a LOT on the program so they dropped it. TOO BAD! It cost about $45pp per night extra. Now when JUST an entree at California Grill costs $35 you can see what a deal it was! If you wanted to try the nicer restaurants (all were included except Victoria and Alberts) PLUS get an Illuminations cruise ($85) rent a boat (about $20 for 1/2 an hour) it was awsome.

Just bumping this up since I also have an AP and would like to do the silver or gold plan.

You cannot get the Silver Plan without the passes and no discount on the plan for AP holders. Sorry. We were very disappointed.

Thanks for letting us know that nothing has changed this year. I agree...sad news:( !

Patricia- that sounds really awesome, especially for someone that has an AP and really has no desire to add a package paying for UPH for someone who already has an AP (that is completely like throwing money out the window... if you can already get in because you have an AP yet pay for a UPH for that person). But I can certainly see why they would stop such a thing- sounds like it cost them a lot of money!!!
Kinda sounds like vouchers (like from connections -is there any other place to get them?) except that it worked for more restaurants or a little more freedom on where to eat?

Yes, Food -N- Fun was a bit like the Connections vouchers. It was actually coded on your room card though so all you had to do was hand that over. I am pretty sure you could add it with just the room and no passes too-anyone remember? We ate at a lot of the nicer restaurants on it!
