Animal Kingdom to Epcot?

After a few hours at Animal Kingdom, we plan to hop to Epcot to do World Showcase. I was thinking it would be best to take a Beach Club bus from AK and enter through the World Showcase entrance rather than taking the Epcot bus and having to walk all the way through Future World. Is this a good plan or am I missing something?

I was quite proud of myself for coming up with this, lol, but I've messed things up REALLY badly in the past trying to get from Point A to Point B, so I thought I'd check!

You'll have to walk all the way through the beach club and then to Epcot, so I don't think it's going to save you much walking. Also, the Epcot resorts usually share buses, so the bus ride is probably going to take quite a bit longer than if you just take the bus directly to Epcot.

Taking the bus directly from AK to Epcot will take about 30 minutes. Taking the bus to the beach club will take 45 minutes to an hour.

I agree it's a great plan, but also agree with Alesia, you won't save any time or save walking by doing it. The BC bus (shared with other Epcot Area Resorts - how many others depends on how busy it is) drops you way out front of BC - you need to walk into BC, out the back of BC, then along the lake & over the bridge to the IG. It's not far - but not any closer than heading to WS from the front of Epcot. I will be nice though, to be able to walk around BC, it's a beautiful resort!

Where does the Animal Kindgdom to Epcot bus drop you? Is it any closer than the AKL to Epcot bus? Because when we stayed at AKL in the spring, it was a LONG walk from the bus stop to the Epcot gate, then we'd still have to walk through Future World. We'll have my 80 year old mother with us...I'm trying to save as many steps as possible, even if it takes a little more time on the bus. (Hmmm, walking through Beach Club might necessitate a stop at Beaches and Cream as well...)

Taking the bus like you thought is the best way. If you stay on the bus to the BC you will have to take a short walk up a sidewalk and go through the lobby out the back and up the walkway. If you don't want to stay on the bus while it stops at S/D and then YC, get off at the first stop at the S/D and walk by the waterway between the S/D and over the bridge and walk past the BW or the Y/BC and over to Epcot. Since we stay at the Epcot Resorts this is usually what we do. I think any of these ways would be quicker than the bus to the front of Epcot and having to walk through the front of the park.

There's your answer. Definitely take the bus to BC!!!!!!!!

The AK to Epcot bus drops you in the same area as all the other Disey buses, not any closer.
