Animal Crossing-City Folk

I'm jealous! I think I got about 10 minutes of uninterrupted play in yesterday. ;) Oh well, we'll try again later today.

Don't be too jealous. ;) It didn't exactly work out as planned! I had her back in clamoring for a turn in barely over an hour. Dad wimped out after one tween aged girl themed movie. :confused3 :rotfl:

I had to take nearly a whole week of work off a few weeks ago due to being extremely ill with a mystery virus  and I am ashamed to tell you that as sick as I was, I'd do it all over again to have those long lazy days off, being the only one in the house. And yes - I'd spend those day playing AC. Really - I think I might need an intervention. :grouphug: :rotfl:

Lol. We will be getting the Wii speak soon. I just ordered it. It will be even more fun for them when we have it. I can hear your dog barking. Hehehe, I can hear you now too.

LOL -yes, THAT was embarrassing. Just so everyone else knows this - if you have a Wii Speak and the person you are playing with doesn't, they can still hear everything you are saying! I didn't know that! :scared:

Town fund question, I have been donating here and there, do they keep track of how much you donated, and when you reach 200,000 you get the bridge? or do you have to donate the 200,000 all at the same time?

I read in one of the online guides that you should donate it all at the same time and not a penny more because any extra does not "roll over" for the next project so that is how we did it. I was afraid to try it the other way.

Hello!
Just a couple of questions...
1. Can you please tell me how you time travel without ruining your town? We tried it the other day (by changing on the Wii and then also changing in the game) and we had weeds and cockroaches and lost a ton of flowers and even a neighbor moved out. :sad2: We said we would never time travel again...but if there was a safe way....we might be inclined.:rolleyes1

2. Will you find out right away if you donated enough to get a bridge? We know that in the past we have put in but not kept track of what we gave, but today we gave $150,000.00 and nothing was said that we had enough. So we were going to just start giving $1000.00 at a time since it does not carry over. Do you have to wait to get a letter or something to tell you you got the bridge?

3. We just got Nookway last week. Today we found out that it will be closed tomorrow to make improvements for its loyal customers. Does that mean we are going to be getting Nookingtons??? :goodvibes If we are ever asked about improvements...we are to just say we like variety right so that it does not go back to Nookway, Nook N Go or Nook's Cranny, correct?

Thanks!!!

Unfortunately, we haven't discovered a way to avoid that. We just try to get it all out of our systems at once then stomp on the cockroaches, pick all the weeds, replant the flowers, meet the new new neighbors and vow never to time travel again...until the next time. :rotfl: If you don't jump too far ahead or back, things don't get too bad. I frequently travel thru a week in one day to sell turnips and try to spend a few minutes each day I jump watering and weeding which helps some. People rarely move in that time.

Go back in the town hall and ask about the town fund. They will tell you what is being planned. Keep asking to get updates and voice your opinion on where the bridge is to be put, etc.

Yep!

1-Wait until after you have shaken all the trees to take the medicine, then you won't go through it as fast. (I have a pattern I shake all my trees in, so I do that, then take the medicine if necessary. I have noticed that the City Folk never say anything about my condition when I visit there, only my neighborhood animals have a problem with how I look after shaking trees. :lmao: )

2- Try time jumping by a few hours. We have to switch off playing at my house (as 3 want to play AC) and I have found that if I play first by the time I play again my swollen eye is usually gone. Sometimes I will play before Nook's opens to shake the trees, get stung (I have yet to catch one of those darn bees :confused3 ), then reset the time a few hours ahead and I look "normal" again.

HTH
You can also just open your gates..
I'm glad I went back to re-read some of the post.. some I have missed. We now have Nookington's and I want to stay with Nookington's. Do you remember what the options are as far as what my choices are on improvement to the store? I want to stick with Nookington's. I don't mind the hours, I just want varieties of furnitures and everything else.

Variety

My town is in April and we had easter over the weekend. It was so much fun. We were dying at the sarcastic comments from the bunny. :lmao:

LOL -yes, THAT was embarrassing. Just so everyone else knows this - if you have a Wii Speak and the person you are playing with doesn't, they can still hear everything you are saying! I didn't know that! :scared:

I usually keep my WII speak turned off when the entire family is around. I doubt you all want to hear the kids arguing, etc. :lmao:
Has anyone received the silver water can from "posey farms" in the mail? I did the other day and was very surprised. I had no idea that I had already bought that much seed from Nook's!

As soon as I figure out how to find my codes I'll post. I am so addicted to this game it's not even funny! :rotfl2:

Even DH can't believe it. Any spare time I get I try and play.

My city name is Ditny and my person name is Michelle.

I don't have Wii Speak (yet) but DH keeps "threatening" that he'll get it for me.

I got mine already. I always buy tons of flowers i like to have my town pretty.. :lmao:

Help! How do I use my shopping card?:confused3 I have it in my pocket whenever I am shopping but they just take my bells. Is there something I am supposed to be saying? Also, I can't wait for the flea market this weekend, I have so much stuff to sell.

Yeah, I learned my lesson with the last flea market -- I've been holding on to stuff that I've found in the recycling bin, lost & found, etc., and I've already set up my first floor with just items I wish to sell. It'll probably mess up my room rating with the HRA, but at least this time I won't have to deal with upset villagers :rotfl:

Oh, and I got my silver watering can yesterday. I didn't think I had bought that many flowers, but we have gotten a few cool hybrids (pink tulips, purple roses and orange pansies, so far). Also shot down the gold slingshot, but DD beat me to Nookington's when they had a silver fishing rod. At least I finally caught another popeyed goldfish to replace the one that went to the museum.

i want to time travel so bad.. but "spork" moved in our town and that's my daughter's favorite animal. i would hate to play with time cause i am just afraid that spork and my miranda would leave town.

i have no idea what i'm going to do when "festivale" comes to town. i have no candy whatsoever to give this peacock (or whoever she is) when feb 23 comes. i think easter should come first before festivale, this way everyone would have candies to give to that peacock.

i got my silver rod... yaaaay! i honestly don't see any difference with the regular rod. it still takes the same amount of time fishing and i never caught any tuna or stringfish yet with this silver rod.

i need to shot a few more balloon before i see those gold balloon to get my gold slingshot.

sigh... it's going to be awhile before we get our 4th bridge. i have awhile to get me to an upgrade to get to the second level floor. we're slow here.

I think you will get candy as part of Festival. I'm pretty sure that's the holiday when animals will play games with you and if you win you get candy, but if you lose they get bells or something from your pocket. Then you take the candy to Pave to get furniture.

As far as time traveling - the rule in our town is no time traveling, ever. We never used time traveling in the Gamecube version and we loved that game. I did time travel in the DS version and I found that I just didn't enjoy the game as much that way. There just wasn't as much to look forward to after a while. Since time is such an important part of the game, we prefer to play it as it unfolds instead of skipping around all the time.

Do you water them often? Seems like they are a lot of maintenance. I do plant them, but not frequently.

Have fun with the flea market :) I use my ACC guide book to help me determine what price to sell for.

Thanks for the info. I'll be sure to play with the others to get some candies. I would love to get the Festivale furnitures. They are nice furnitures.

I did time travel once and it was fun for a little while up until I saw the consequences. Then it wasn't fun anymore and my bf said that I was taking the fun out of the game and there's nothing to look forward to. And this is the reason why I rebuilt the town.. new friends/neighbors. Of course, this doesn't make me a veteran player (know it all and even with the book, there's always questions that arises). I promise the family not to time travel again. Of course there's always this itch to do it again.. but for the sake of my family, I won't.

We finally got our fountain. I threw in the axe and this really cute animal appeared t the top of the fountain. She asked me some questions and she got ticked off and kept my axe. Everyday one of us tries to get the golden axe. None of us has succeeded. She is not the nicest Animal on the block, but I guess if people threw axes at me, I'd be ticked off too. LOL

Hi again!

I am posting again with our codes. We are in Central Time zone and normally play in the evenings (6-9-ish and often play on and off all day on the weekends. We have a long weekend this week (yay!!) and will probably be playing a lot!! I'll hook up the Wii Speak later today.

Here is our info: (EDITED BECAUSE OF CODE ERROR!)
Town Seattle

Keri (me - 41. I work at an elementary school and promise a safe kid friendly environment. Code: 2364-0911-7373

Annika (DD12) One caveat to kid safe promise above: She is a very sweet and unsophisticated 12 yo, but she is currently saying "crap" a lot. I have asked her to be careful about this if visiting other towns with kids or while friends are over. I have also warned her to be careful about running near water and around flowers is she is visiting.
Code: 4726-2218-8752

Nick (Annika's other character - she wanted a 2nd character and accidentally made it a boy. We call him her pesky little brother LOL!!) If Nick is playing, it will really be Annika or possibly me. Code: 4339-7705-4698

Fruits: Cherries native, and we have all the others (apples, pears, peaches and coconuts) from mailing neighbors cherries and getting other fruits back. You can fish, pick as much fruit as you want (fill your pockets multiple times with any of the fruits if you'd like), buy/sell turnips at Nookington's, take stuff from Lost and Found and the Recycling Bin, visit our houses....really whatever you'd like as long as you don't chop down trees or pick flowers without asking. I have a brown thumb in real life and it seems to have carried over to the game so each flower that is alive for more than 3 days is a triumph! Feel free to pick weeds too. :rotfl: I try to stay on top of them but sometimes the urge to time travel to play the stalk market takes control of me and then I get stuck with a bunch more! :confused3

Please PM me if you'd like to add us and send us your code - I have PM'd several people as well. :-) Also, let us know any special rules you might have. We won't chop trees or pick flowers but let me know if there are any other things you don't want us to do - dig, fish, shop, etc.

Hope to see you around!

Keri and Annika

I sent you a pm! I'm also in central time zone and play evenings! :goodvibes

just curious for those who welcomes "out of towners" to your town and say you can fish all you want and take all the fruits all you want. do they ever take ALL the fruits and leave you with nothing? i mean they keep filling up their pockets and go back to their town to sell the fruits and keeps coming back to your town to pick more fruits and just keep going back and forth to get all the fruits until there's no more fruits left to pick? did that ever happen to you? if so, did you get upset? i think it takes about 3 or 4 days for the fruits to grow back.
