Animal Crossing-City Folk

Thanks for the suggestions! We have been working on trying to plant a bunch of fruit trees. The other day we had about 11 trees that died. :guilty: We were not sure if it was because we used time travel fruit to plant or what. We were sad. We were trying to line our paths with all trees in the town.

We will start writing more letters to our neighbors. My DS is great about hitting the rocks.

Now I don't feel so bad about not paying off our house yet!! We decided that we wanted to get the bridges, fountain and we want the lighthouse so we can make it like Old Key West!!:thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about your trees! YIKES! 11 of them! That is sad.... I don't know why they died, I have only time traveled one time and didn't have good results so I stopped. Others on here can do it though! I have found that if I cut a native fruit tree down and plant another fruit right in it's spot, I have the best luck of them living.

I wish I had lined my paths with trees! :thumbsup2 That sounds like a good idea to keep your snow/grass areas pretty!! Mine are all brown now... :sad2:

Oh yeah, I thought of another way to make bells. You can do the turnip thing, where you buy turnips on Sunday mornings and sell them for a profit (hopefully) during the week. You have to sell them within a week though or they rot. She might also sell a red turnip seed, but you have to make sure to water it every day for a week or it will die! But, if you do, then after a week of watering you can sell it for 1600 bells!

The butterflies are out, and I also caught a few lady bugs. I am not great with the net. I caught a different type of fish yesterday, now I cannot remember the name.

Just curious.. are you time traveling? I don't see no butterflies, nor lady bugs. :confused3 I'm on today's date. It would be awesome if there are butterflies around!

Turnips are a good way to make money, but you can also lose money on them. Last week, we bought turnips at 104 bells each, and ole Tom never offered us more than 97 bells apiece to sell them. This week they cost us 103 bells and Tom is paying a whopping 417 bells each! Oh, and if you time travel at all during the week, Joan will not have a red turnip seed, so that has killed time travel for us for a while. Time travel backwards will cause any turnips you have to rot immediately, the same thing happens if you time travel forward past Saturday.

Our trees are green underneath the snow today! I'm still lurking around, enjoying all your posts. Our Nookway is closed tomorrow! I can't wait to see Nookington's.

I planted a CRAP LOAD of fruits that were not native to my town. I get about 70,000 bells every three days from these fruit trees. I had peaches and now I have coconuts, pears and cherries. I also fish alot. Red Snappers are 3000 bells and sea horses are 1100 bells, etc. I have my bridge, my fountian, my two story house and I am almost able to pay for my windmill. I am then going to save money for some Gracie Grace furniture. Once I get the firewall off my linksys, I can make friends.

What do the rest of you do to make your town perfect? I have a lot of trees, I need to plant more flowers and I keep weeds up and trash up.

Yes, I time travel, but just one day at a time. For example, if I do all the things I normally do on any day, I then change the day to the next day and so on. I have had no trouble at all. I think when you time travel by months, that is when you run into trouble.
PM me for my friend code.

My town name is Ditny, name is Michelle, native fruit is pears.

Welcome I will PM you soon :)

Oh wow, with all of the time I've spent on the DisBoards, I had no idea Animal Crossing had it's own little home here. I am so exicted. :cool1:

I just happened to do a google search on why my perfect snowman I just built disappeared when I came back to see it a few minutes later. And it led me here.

Ok, going back to read from the beginning of the thread! Glad to see there are others out here that play this game too. :goodvibes

Hi! I'm new to the thread. I've played Animal Crossing on the DS for a while, but just started on the Wii. I don't play a lot, but I was hoping to find a few friends for the game.

My friend code: 4683-3832-8222
Character: Shay(heart symbol)
Town: Bay Lake (yes, like the new DVC resort)
Native fruit: cherry
Other fruit: oranges & coconuts

I'm glad to see so many other adults addicted to this game. I wish it was as easy to sneak play this game like I do with the DS one. My kids constantly interrupt me (hey, go catch fish, make her go here.)

I decided to try my hand at time travel last night. Dh and I decided going back to Halloween night would might be fun. I may suggest if going back in time, you know exactly what your getting yourself into.:rolleyes1 I of course didn't have any candy to pass out so one of my neighbors slapped a pumpkin on my head, all the rest of my neighbors beat the crap out of me while I was running for my life back to my safe house. Some guy Jack stole everything in my pockets and turned them into jack in the boxes. Then when I finally got back to normal time, I still had a pumpkin on my head, roaches running around my house :scared1: and weeds everywhere. I went to buy back my fishing pole, net and shovel only to find the sling shot I've been wanting but now no fishing pole. :sad2: Ugh! I was just beginning to think life in AC wasn't so bad.:lmao: :rotfl2: Now I have to go on and kill the roaches, pull the weeds, figure out how to get rid of the pumpkin head, and hopefully buy another fishing pole.:upsidedow Oh and in my time travel I somehow lost my coconut tree that I planted yesterday morning so I have to wait for another coconut to wash up.

Ok I'm sorry, but this story was absolutely hilarious. :rotfl2: I never time traveled with my City Folk game, but tried it once with my Wild World game on the DS, I tried to go fast forward to summer. When I went back, weeds everywhere and roaches in my house. I was not a happy camper and will never try it that far ahead again. :sad2:

Those are the funniest things I've read! OMG - I really don't want roaches!!!

just curious for those who welcomes "out of towners" to your town and say you can fish all you want and take all the fruits all you want. do they ever take ALL the fruits and leave you with nothing? .

Seriously, I wish people would come and take all our fruit - we have tons of trees and fruit on the ground even. We were selling it like mad until I discovered selling turnips. I got totally addicted to the stalk market. Now I have our house paid off, the bridge, the fountain, the windmill and about 4 million bells banked for a rainy day (or a great line of furniture at Gracie Grace!). I have lost my motivation to pick fruit. LOL! Every so often I pick up a few pockets full and sell it to tidy things up and I should really spend some more time doing that this weekend. But to keep my pocket full of spending money, I prefer fishing and rock hitting. You can get up to 8,100 bells a day from the rocks with the golden shovel.

Fossils and rare fish make lots of money but we make sure to see if the museum needs them before we sell them - it took us awhile to figure out to do that though so we still have some gaps in our collections. The art is especially hard to find!

Another thing to do is to clear your beach of all shells and sell them several times a day. Pretty soon you will get rarer shells. Save all the scallops (NOT the white ones, just the ones called "scallops") and you can trade them for stuff with a guy named pascal who shows up on your bridges every so often. We now get special dhells like conch shells and even pearl oysters that sell for 1,200 bells. It's not a huge money maker but it's super easy and really fun to see what washes back up onto your empty beach.

Woohooo!! I just suckered...errrr...I mean convinced DH and DD to have a "special movie night" so I can have a few uninterrupted hours of AC. :cheer2:

So my gates will be open for visitors all evening. LOADS of all the fruits for the taking, a free silver slingshot whoever might want one and I do have Wii Speak.

I will try to pop down to the computer at some point to see if anyone wants to give me their code. Here is mine again:

I just went through and added you guys. :)

Just jumping into this thread as my kids just got this and I have seen this thread on occasion.

They want to know how do you time travel?

Thank you!

ETA: My dd just figured it out, but thanks anyway!

Y'all have fun playing ACCF! I'm off to WDW for a week!! :woohoo: I'm going to miss playing though... I'll check in when I get back to see what everyone did while I was gone. I still don't know if I will get a windmill or lighthouse (I voted for a lighthouse), but I guess I'll see when I get back.

I'm going to miss the Pave' Festival on Tuesday and the flea market tomorrow... :guilty:

Someone was trying to come to my town earlier and it wouldn't let them for some reason. Sorry!:flower3: I think I have it fixed now.

To time travel, when you are starting the game, go to other things. Then it will ask you what you want to do. Say change date...then you can change the date and time. I'm actually on Monday right now, we couldn't wait for the festival.:rolleyes1

Oooh, have fun in Disney! I think I'd rather be there than here in the snowy cold playing ACCF!;) You could always go forward in time to monday. It's not that far ahead, so it shouldn't cause too many problems in your town.

By the way, we had a dog move into our town today. I swear the darn thing is possessed! It has no eyes, just white circles.:scared: His name is Biscuit I forgot who's town he moved from, but if your Biscuit recently moved, he moved to our town.:upsidedow

Glad your DD got it figured out! If you have wifi and any of your kids are interested in having other kids to play with, let me know. My DD12 loves having visitors and visiting other kids and we'd be happy to swap friend codes with you.

I really wish this were a multiple player game - that she and I could play at the same time - ya know? Would really add a lot of fun to the game!
