I had a great time at the after-season party at our owner's new home yesterday.
We had two buses drive us to his house. It took close to 2 hours to get there. That includes time spent while we were lost on the back roads!

Can you imagine the look on the residents' faces when two huge tour buses came driving down their dirt and gravel lanes? We had to turn around at one point and back up, and the driver stalled the bus.

I give him credit though for getting us there in one piece.
The home was absolutely beautiful. It sat high on a hill in the Laurel Mountains. When you sat on the back deck, all you saw were mountains and trees. You couldn't see ANY other houses at all.
The house was a log home, and it was huge. I lost track of all of the bedrooms and bathrooms. I think there were at least 6 bedrooms, all complete with full bathrooms.
The decorating was all wood/hunting themed. The end tables, many of the lamps and chandeliers, and the chairs all had antlers. Everything went together so well. The wall colors were all rich colors and accented everything perfectly. It's so hard to describe everything.
The bottom floor was a true game room. One room housed a custom made pool table. There was a huge walk in wine room. There were three plasma TVs on the wall, all set to different stations. (Must be a guy thing - all sports!) There were huge plasma TVs in just about every room. The downstairs also had a beautiful marble-topped bar. He had a shuffleboard table that sat up high and you moved the discs with your hand. Lots of people enjoyed playing it.
The kitchen was also grand with stainless steel everything. More beautiful granite (or marble?) countertops here.
Outside there was an inground pool with a separate jacuzzi. He also had a huge fire pit with large lava rocks that turns on with the flick of a switch. That threw out a ton of heat!
The food was excellent. We were stuffed on the appetizers which included swedish meatballs, stuffed mushrooms, and ribs, and didn't realize we were still getting a huge meal later!

The main meal consisted of pasta, shrimp and meat shishkabobs, chicken, green beans almondine, and a broccoli dish. Later on there was cheesecake for dessert. Mmmmmm....
I had a wonderful time. That was very gracious of him to open up his home to all of us.
