Angelrose's Journey

Merry Christmas to you Angelrose! And to the rest of regulars here!

I'm sitting here watching a Christmas Story on TBS. I've got such a sore throat! I've got 25 family members arriving in 3-4 hours. Yuck! No hugs from me today.

Hello everyone. Hope your Christmas was wonderful. THought you would like to see a picture of Chuck and me with one of our Christmas presents. Karen's friend knows we are both Doctor Who fans and got us each this blanket. It is so soft and warm.

Cute pic Angelrose ~ love the matching blankies :thumbsup2! My SonIL#1 gave me a Santa one for C'mas that I love. Out of all my blankies, it is the most snuggly. :goodvibes

Minniecarousel, hope you're feeling better .

Happy New Year to all and may God Bless!

HAPPY NEW YEAR snappyd. We all went out on New Year's Eve day. We went to the aquarium in Atlantic City. I think I had more fun than the kids. We got to touch baby sharks and the BEST part was touching and then feeding the sting rays. They feel like velvet and their mouths are underneath and they just suck for fish from your fingers. I could have done that all day. After that we walked on the boardwalk. I had to sit down every couple of minutes because both my hips were giving me pain. I will be glad to get my shots this Wednesday. We had a nice lunch at Carmines. That's an Italian restaurant and the food was out of this world.

It was a wonderful way to enjoy the holiday and we all got home before any revelers were out and about.

Now I have a rotten sinus infection and am on antibiotics. I woke up this morning, had a cup of coffee and then promptly fell asleep for another two hours in my recliner. The coughing jags have finally stopped but my chest and tummy are so sore from the coughing. I think by tomorrow I may actually feel human again.

Aww...hopefully the antibiotics will do their job. I just got over my cold. My large extended family were all gone from my house by 3:45 on Christmas Day - bless them! I've been taking MucinexDM and drinking lots of tea. I had to get the Breathe Right strips for sensitive skin because I think I was peeling off skin in the mornings.

We have our plane tix to NY for the end of Feb for our grandson Jacksons first birthday. Turns out, we won't need them. My son has to come out here for a certification for his job & his wife and son will come with him! Gotta look into how to change the tix for late Spring.

Well, I have only two more days left of the antibiotic and so far I don't see any improvement. I just starting the Mucinex DM so hopefully that will help.

Glad you cold is over and you are feeling better. Enjoy you son and his family.

Hello everyone. I think I am finally getting better. Chuck is getting our fast passes by staying up until midnight and getting them. Guests who stay onsite can get them far in advance and it's really hard to get anything you want. But so far he has been successful.

Yesterday I was finally getting the ornaments off the tree. The sun was very bright and coming in my window. I took a break for lunch and noticed my face was really hot. I didn't think I had a fever, so I looked in the mirror.

I had sunburn! In the middle of January. Through the window! Now this just doesn't happen to normal people.

Pardon me while I laugh just a little! Sunburn through the window! Now I've heard it all.

Your trip is getting close. How exciting! We had such a great time when we went in Oct. We've got a few quick trips planned for Disneyland.

Glad I'm not the only one who is still undecorating. But I'm sure that you put out more decorations than I do.

Glad you're on the mend. It was smart to get your cold over and done with before the trip.

I heard you laughing minniecarousel! I told that to my son and he just shook his head. When I go to DW I never get sunburn. Just in New Jersey, in January, through the window.

I did get more decorations put away this morning. I only have 6 more tubs to go. YAYYYYY Then I only have the extra lights to take down and the tree, which Chuck will do for me. Then I just have the wreaths and the fridge magnets. I should be done by Easter.

AR, only you and our 3 sweet redhead grands could get sunburn through a window . Red hair and porceline skin are beautiful, but sadly can also be a dangerous curse. :worried:

Glad you're feeling better and enjoying the excitement of trip planning. Seems a nasty 10/14 day virus is making it's rounds in our area. Thankfully the OP's are good thus far. :worship:

Minnie, great your son and family will be visiting :thumbsup2! Know you can't wait to celebrate Jackson's 1st Birthday! :cloud9:

You're right 4nana. Which is why I go to the dermatologist twice a year.

On a brighter note, I have almost all of the decorations off the tree. YAYYY. Chuck will have to get the rest, hopefully next weekend. Unfortunately the weather forecast is calling for 5 to 8 inches of snow next Friday and more on Saturday. We were supposed to get snow showers today. Well, I have two inches of "snow showers" to clear off my back porch before I head to the dr's office tomorrow morning. Luckily the roads are clear. But I am NOT happy about it.

I have my limo reservations! I finally found one that I hope will be better than the last one. I also have my Rewards card all set. It's getting close, my friends. Only 20 more days!

It looks like we will luck out with this blizzard. Our temperatures will be above freezing, so we will just get 1 to 3 inches of wet snow turning to rain and then back to snow before stopping. I can deal with that.

How exciting your trip is so close...I think all the planning is half the fun!! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Sadly we're not missing out this time - Mother Nature calling for 8-12" and possibly more. We've prepared as much as possible - Jeep full of gas, plenty food and necessities, reserved water, flash lights and oil lamps ready if power goes off. Busses and Metro have already cancel their routes for wk-end in anticipation of possible blizzard conditions. I can deal unless it turn into 3ft like we had few yrs back and evythg shut down. We are such sissies compared to some states who live daily w/snow, ice n wind.

Prayer for all those in the blizzard's path - God Bless the many on duty and those who have to work outside :cold:. Stay safe!

Yikes! I don't know how you all handle snow! We're getting plenty of rain here & the Sierras are getting lots of snow, which is needed for our water supply. Not out of the drought hole yet, but we're getting there.

20 days 'til your trip! Yay!

We're starting to plan for our NY kids visit. Lined up a photographer for family pix. I've got to call some local bakeries & see who will make the Mickey Mouse cake for Jackson's first birthday cake. We'll have a hot dog bar for that party.

We have a quick trip to Carmel right before the SuperBowl. Thinking of going into SF for some of the free festivities. We can take a ferry across the Bay, but not sure i can talk hubby into it.

Have a safe week-end, East Coast friends!

Unfortunately it didn't miss us. It's been snowing for a little over an hour now. They are forecasting 5 to 8 inches now and very windy. So far I haven't heard any wind, but that could come overnight.

I did have a fun day with Joan. We had our red velvet pancakes this morning and did some grocery shopping at Walmart and Acme. We stopped at Bed, Bath and Beyond and got a couple of things. Then we went to see The Revenant. OMG what a horrible picture. I had no idea it was so violent and gory. Plus it had a dumb ending. I told Joan to please kick me if I ever pick a movie again. LOL The acting was supurb, but that's 2 and a half hours we will never get back.

Chuck and Karen are going to be starting to pack this weekend. It's still too early for me to pack my clothes yet, but I can decide which t shirts I'm going to bring. Here's hoping the weather settles down both here and there.

Minnie, that sounds a lot of fun for BD boy's upcoming 1st! Plus a Mickey cake and family photo shoot - priceless! :lovestruc

AR, glad you got out and yummy on the red velvet pancakes we both love :teeth:! SonIL keeps me supplied in Cracker Barrel pancake mix/syrup, as he's on the road a lot and knows I love me some Cracker Barrel. One of my C'mas gifts was a nice griddle, so will try some pumpkin pancakes tomorrow. Currently have a big pot of yummy beef stew and corn bread on. Think I'll bake some gingerbread too! :goodvibes

Sorry to hear you're getting hit too - pls be careful! Thus far we have 14"+ and upped it to 24" according to news :cold:. Thankfully our 2 local kids help us out and our nice neighbor will plow us out once snow quits. We took our time and did manage to shovel a lil horse shoe path for our faithful fur baby to do his business. :dog2:
Everyone please pray power stays on for all those in blizzard conditions. :worship:

PLEASE be careful everyone, sadly we've already lost a 60yo in our area to H/A due to shoveling. :sad1:

Have I mentioned that I HATE SNOW?? We have about a foot right now and it's not supposed to stop until midnight.

I got a call from Karen this morning forbidding me to even think about shoveling. It's a very wet snow, so very heavy and now it's all going to freeze again tonight. Chuck will come over sometime tomorrow and shovel off my back porch. I've already called my neighbor to see if he can use the snowblower on my driveway. I had to leave a message so hope he will get back to me tomorrow.

I used my time today, by putting away the Christmas decorations up here and getting some of the light strings in bags. The rest will have to wait until Chuck can do the tree.

I also finished my clothes packing. All I need now is to wait. That's the hard part. I hope I'll be unfrozen by then.
