So good to hear from you again 4nana. You have been busy! I have been busy this weekend with babysitting and doing some shopping for myself and then with Karen today. We each made some single serving recipes and with Karen's friend. We all exchanged them and now I have enough food to last me all week into next! Now I have to think up some new recipes for next week. I don't have that many, so I'll have to look some from Rachael Ray.

Tomorrow is Karen's birthday and is also a school holiday, so I have to be there tomorrow by 6:30. EEEEKKK! Take care of the kids until they both come home from work around 5 and then we all go out to dinner at Longhorn for some steak!

Friday we took the kids to Red Robin for dinner with Karen's friend and her son and then we went to see Pan. That was really a good movie and all the kids enjoyed it.

I have things to do every day next week until Thursday and then I can rest that day. The week after I have to get busy with the weed whacker and get the outside ready for the winter.

Hello everyone. Hope you all are doing well. I have been very busy getting the outside ready for winter. I covered the air conditioner and brought in all the little statues from the back porch. I even did some weed whacking and leaf blowing. I still have the front of the house to do. I have to ask my neighbor to give me an estimate on how much to cut down all the bushes in the front, side and back. It has been three years since he did it and it really needs it. I should do it every other year, but just didn't get to it.

The grandkids are all very excited for Halloween. Zoey is going to be Strawberry Shortcake (complete with pink wig) and Jesse is going to be a Ninjago. They both look so cute in their costumes. I'll be giving out the candy as usual this year. I'll be bringing my blanket for my knees. I sit outside so it gets pretty chilly. The upside is I get first crack at the candy. There is usually a couple of Twix and KitKats that have my name on it.

I think we are going to Storybook Land tomorrow. The kids can get little toys at each station and we go through the maze. It's a lot of fun and they can do some rides too.

November 1, I will be putting away all the Halloween decorations and start putting out the Christmas decorations. I'm hoping to get my tree up before Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving I spend the whole day with the kids. I keep Jesse and Zoey occupied while Chuck and Karen put up their tree and decorate. This year, Karen wants the kids to have their own tree for all their ornaments so that the main tree will be just for the adults. I think that's a great idea. I always give the kids an ornament each year and so does Karen. So they already have a lot of their own ornaments.

I got the shot in my hip last week, but so far it hasn't helped a whole lot. It usually takes a week or more to really get going, but it's been two weeks and it still isn't the best. But, I'm still not using a cane, so that's the bright light for me.

It's just 97 days until we go away in February. Really getting excited about that. Of course I was excited 300 days ago.

Hey there! Greetings from WDW! We're in Animal Kingdom this AM. We had a wonderful time the past 4 days with our younger son, his wife & baby Jackson! They left yesterday & we switch from the Boardwalk to Bay Lake Towers today. We "Facetimed" with Ben yesterday. His daddy & momma says he misses me...I miss him too! They're taking a trip to Monterey this week, so that will distract him.

Weather is lovely!

That sounds wonderful minniecarousel. Glad you have had good weather. That always makes it more enjoyable.

We were at Storybook Land for Trick or Treating on Sunday. Here are some pictures.

This last picture Karen titled Grumpypants. She was being mean to me as usual and she snapped my picture. LOL

Haha! Grumpypants!

The kids costumes are great! That's fun that they have Story Book Land to go to. My sister would take my boys to Fairyland near her house. It's been there forever & my boys enjoyed it - it was one of the special places that she'd take them.

We're staying in tonight. We hope to go up to the lounge atop Bay Lake Tower to see Hallowishes @ 10 pm, if I don't fall asleep!

Thanks minniecarousel. Zoey just loves Strawberry Shortcake and Jesse does love his ninjas. I always have a lot of fun with Karen. We laugh so much.

Hello friends :flower3:! Happy November, as we enjoy the cooler temps and end of the beautiful foliage here in Md. :teeth:

AR aka Grumpypants ;), love the Halloween costumes and photos of Jesse and Zoey! Storybook Land indeed looks a ton of fun during holidays and so wonderful you enjoy time with your sweet grands on all the special occasions :lovestruc. We did our annual trip to the Pumpkin farm, enjoyed the fall foodies incl pumpkin donuts and apple cider slushie drinks, corn maze, hay ride, and of course pumpkin patch :D. Sadly, it's down to 3 local grands now, as other are too old and busy with college and all their activities. Last nite went to their houses for dinner/dessert and had fun watching all the cute trick or treaters. :firefight pirate: :yoda: :charac4:  :earsgirl:

AR, hope you feel better and shot kicks in so you can put up all your C'mas decor without issues. Little early for me yet , that comes after all December family BD's, about 2nd week I get in the C'mas spirit. Now that it's cooler, anxious to get back in the Aquatic Center's warm pool for exercise. :goodvibes

All too soon will be time to think about Thanksgiving and count our many blessings :grouphug:. Minniecarousel, glad you had a wonderful trip and know you enjoyed time with sweet Jackson :cloud9:. My, isn't all the technology wonderful with out of state grands! puckerup:

BTW ~ our OP (old people) Buick finally gave up, so had to get another car. Went shopping for a Ford Fusion and was very disappointed. Test drove a Ford Taurus and it was like a dream! Not as good on gas mileage as the Fusion, but the luxury and comfort can't be beat, plus bells n whistles of leather heat/AC seats, remote start, navigation system, etc., stole our hearts. Love it!

Our Taurus Limited :car: - her name is Sunset, as that's her color! :thumbsup2

Oh 4nana, I love your new car. It's so pretty.

The reason I start the Christmas decorations so early is because I have a LOT of decorations and a lot of rooms to put them in. Today I got a lot done. I finished the dining room and most of the living room, minus the tree. Tomorrow I start on the big living room but have to wait for Chuck to get some things done and hung before I can finish that. I figure by Thanksgiving I should have everything mostly done. Probably just finish the tree by then or soon after. Then I have to get to the baking! I love this time of year!

I have some pictures from trick or treating on Halloween.

Karen is dressed as a flamingo and other two boys are friends of the kids and Karen's friend is in the back.

Zoey got tired of wearing her wig.

That's the normal pictures, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand then there is Chuck

ry%3D400

I'm afraid Chuck got his weird sense of humor from me. Can't blame that on Ron. LOL

Oh Angelrose ~ like mother, like son :P! What a hoot, really enjoy seeing all the fun your young spirited family has! :woohoo:

Thanks 4nana. I'm telling you when the three of us get together there is non stop laughing. Chuck with his lame jokes and me laughing at them and Karen telling me not to encourage him. But she is just as bad! Sometimes I think we should take our show on the road. LOL

Hello my friends. So many leaves! Chuck came over to help me with some decorations and he blew off the whole driveway for me. There were so many leaves that coming home in the dark, I couldn't find my driveway and drove a bit into the woods. LOL I can find my driveway with no problem.

I finished most of the Christmas decorating. The tree is decorated except for the very top and Chuck does that. Tomorrow I'm going to do my computer room and then all I have to do is the stuff under the tree.

Jesse fell in gym class and badly sprained his ankle. Poor kid was on crutches for a couple of days. That happened on Thursday. Today he is off the crutches and is walking around with a limp but pretty good for less than a week.

Karen is home with a bad sinus infection and bad allergies. She has to stay in bed for 3 days and is on antibiotics for 10 days.

Jesse's birthday party was on Friday. He had 5 boys over for a sleep over. We were worried that one of the boys would accidentally hurt his foot, but they were super careful and helped him whenever they could. So he had a great birthday in spite of the ankle.

So that is what has been happening around here. I can't believe that Thanksgiving is NEXT week! November sure went by fast.

Only 85 more days until we go to WDW.

I love that you decorate for Christmas early. I'd love to, but since I host Thanksgiving there isn't room. We sit down for T'giving. Christmas food is more of a "grazing" all day kinda thing. I'll have to be very selective what decorations I put in the family room. Ben is confined to the kitchen/family room. (Gotta love baby gates!)

We had a fun few days. We went to our time-share in Carmel Thurs-Sun. It so happens that my only out of the area brother was driving up the Coast after visiting Disneyland. We had dinner in Carmel with him & his wife, her sister & my niece. Then they came to our area so my brother could go to his 50th HS reunion. Everything just fell into place. We came home early on Sunday & had my family for dinner (we had BBQ delivered - great idea!)

Love your countdown to WDW!

I have been decorating early for years. Ron and I used to go to Disney every year the second week in December, so we had to have the tree up at least. We tried doing it after we came back, but we were too tired to do all that for just a couple of weeks. So I started doing it a week before Thanksgiving. But that still wasn't enough time. So now I start on November1. It takes a bit longer because Ron isn't here to help me. But I get it all done. I am finished with the computer room today and all I ahve left is the under the tree stuff which I will do this weekend or on Monday.

We have Thanksgiving dinner at Chuck's house, but I get there early and we have time to chat and take some pictures before dinner. I will be there the day before because it's half day for the kids. That will be a long day.

Karen gives me the job of wrapping ALLLLLL the Christmas books again this year. LOL There must be at least 20 and she is ordering more books. They each unwrap one book every day starting December 1st. Last year, they remembered a few of the books from previous years. LOL

Jesse is walking very well now. He still limps a bit but it is healing up nicely.

Karen is feeling better and will probably go back to work tomorrow. Her fever has broken and she is feeling a bit better.

I'm happy to hear that you got a chance to have dinner with your brother.

Glad to hear that both Jesse & Karen are healing.

I love the book idea! I'm always looking at the Half Price bookstore for books for Ben. Amazon also has some reasonably priced board books (he still doesn't get to handle paper page books on his own.)

We're going to start putting up decorations the day after Thanksgiving.

Hello my friends. My cousin Joan and I usually go out on Fridays for shopping, laughs and pancakes. We were all set to go out last Friday. I went to sleep Thursday around 11:30. I wake up an hour later to the phone ringing. UHOH That's never good. It was Joan telling me that she couldn't go out with me. I asked why and she very calmly told me that she was in the hospital. She had been in a bad auto accident and had broken her left arm in two places. (The reason she was so calm is because she was on morphine.) She was going to be operated on Friday. Well, that made me so upset. We are very close and I think of her as my little sister.

I worried all day Friday and finally called her husband when I knew he would be home. The operation went well. She has a large plate and a small one. But she won't get all of her mobility back. She will get back most, but not all. She will have to go through intense PT as soon as the cast is off.

The idiot who hit her, came to her window to ask if she was alright. She was in and out of consiousness. He told her it was her fault that she hit him and another car. When the police came, he couldn't find his license or registration. He did finally find it. Joan told the officer that she couldn't move her arm that he would have to get it out of her wallet and the registration was in the glove box.

They had to take her out on a back board with the neck brace because she had lost consiousness. I know I spelled that wrong, but nothing looks right. Anyway. The officer told her that she must have an angel watching out for her because the way she was hit, she should be dead. It was her mom's birthday! She sure did have an angel looking out for her.

She is home now and is pain meds. She is not allowed to drive for two weeks, but she is afraid to get back behind the wheel at all. I'm sure that will change. I'm sure her boys and husband will make her when the time is right. I can always say she has to drive me because I forgot how to get to the mall. LOL But I'm happy to say she is on the mend. Now she has to deal with the insurance companies and that's always fun and never ending. It's just blessings from above that she wasn't badly hurt.

Oh yes I forgot to mention that he was making a left turn when hit t boned her, so it was definitely his fault. In NJ when making a turn you have to have control of your car. If you hit someone, it's automatically your fault. I hope he has many sleepless nights, just for being such a jerk after the accident. Do I sound witchy? I am very protective of my little sister (cousin).

Oh, wow! Glad Joan is OK. What a rough road she will have. So scary!

On another note: Happy Thanksgiving!
