...and a happy New Year! 12/30/2010

Received our documents via Fedex today. Still waiting for the kid's document. One step closer to the big day!

On my last cruise, everyone from Canada got theirs first... ;) I think my TA gets mine first and then she sends them to me.

BTW... did everyone see they now have new WDW room rates starting 1/2/2011 - April, but Jan 6-8th is blocked

DCL knows the Cdn mail system. Snails can deliver faster then our postal service. It takes one day to get to the border and 5 days to get to a city 60 miles from the custom postal station. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Guess what came in the mail today for me!!! Our cruise docs! :yay:

I like the new look and they have all of our reservations in there. Handy little booklet.

Guess What?!? We have made a spur-of-the-moment decision to NOT leave the ship on January 6th. We are going to take the Panama Canal cruise back to Los Angeles!!!:scared1::cool1:

We did the Panama Canal cruised on the Magic and it was unbelievable. We were out on deck most of the day just watching everything that was happening. Sometimes we would run down to deck 4 while in the locks, and it looked like we could step straight across on to the dock, and then the ship rises and we were looking down at the dock. Hope you have a great time! Alex

A while back there was talk about a cut off date for participating in the FE gifts. Have we reached that date yet? If not, when should the cut off date be? We are a month and a week away for sailing.

I would LOVE to do that! DH and I wanted to book that when it first was announced, but DS has school...

Have a wonderful time!!!:goodvibes

Blocked due to the Disney Marathon weekend... if you are running in any of the events they do offer discounts on the rooms.

Not answering the FE cutoff question, but throwing another into the mix...

Are we having guidelines on the FE? Like one cabin gift, one kid gift, and one adult gift? Or are we just having it be what we want to FE? Either way is good, I am just starting to plan since we will be traveling for 2 weeks before the cruise and home for 36 hours before we leave again. :goodvibes

I believe Kathy set the cutoff date for End of November. It might be posted on Post #2.

Connie - Wow Wow Wow. Can I go back with you? ;) Wanted to do this, but just too much for us at this time.

Will you get to keep the same cabin?

I logged onto the DCL site just now and saw we got our room assignment!

2604... so cat 9 upgrade from cat 12, not too shabby!

Cannot wait for the cruise and to surprise the kids on Christmas! :)

Hello! We'll be neighbors! We're in 2603! I have a DS11 and a DD6 along with my DH. We are also participating in the FE so we won't have too far to walk! We are also surprising kids on Christmas morning. I think we settled on letting them unwrap a huge box of packing peanuts. Inside they will find a DVD that says "Watch Me!" on it. When they pop it in they will see something like...."In 63 hours...." then a black screen. And then nothing. We like to tease! :rotfl2: The last thing will be a recording of the ship's horn. They've heard it so many times they will know exactly what it will mean. And we will video the whole thing! The closer it gets, the harder it is to keep the secret!!:santa:

Hi Neighbor! I like your surprise idea! I was thinking of wrapping up DD's DCL Minnie and having her hold a picture of the ship but then I have to pack and fly with another stuffed Minnie Mouse so I am back to square one.

Last cruise I ordered pillowcases and got them signed as a total surprise for the kids and this year I ordered vinylmations and will have those as a surprise! It is so cute... both kids think they are gifts from Mickey!

Although, DS last cruise asked how Mickey could be on the ship and at WDW at the same time (we had just left WDW) so we talked a bit about it and he decided that they were people dressed up, but that it was fun to pretend they were real and not to tell DD.

OK, We had put November 30 out there for the FE cutoff and nobody had any objections, so that is how it was left, so time is getting close if anyone wants to join you better speak up or forever hold your peace. . . . as it is said wherever!!!

The guidelines are whatever you want to do. We have received it both ways and I believe you should go with whatever is comfortable for you and your luggage :rolleyes1 since a lot of us are flying in and have to watch the suitcases.

So as was said before there is one week left to join the FE gift exchange for our cruise. :thumbsup2 And then we only have a month left to wait for our WONDERful trip!! :woohoo::cheer2::cool1::dance3::yay::flower3:

I've been toying with the idea too, but I think I'd actually have to pull the kids from school and home school them if I did that.:) They just missed 2 weeks at the begining of October for our last cruise and now a week for this one, I'm going to have to promise their teachers that I won't take any more trips this year!

Of course you can come! The more, the merrier! :grouphug:

No, I wish we could get the same cabin, because we are in cat7 for this cruise. Then we'd have a balcony to watch while we were passing through the canal.

We are in a cat 10C, no windows. :sad1: Our TA promised to keep an eye on our ressies personally. If anything comes available for upgrade, then he will try to grab it for us.

I don't expect pixie dust, but a little good luck would do. :wizard: On the brighter side, we are on deck 1. There are only a few cabins, and it's on the same deck as the tender lobby/gangway. Getting on and off the ship will be a breeze.

Awesome! We've never done this before. I am totally looking forward to it. We didn't realize DCL was doing a WB repo this early. I found it almost by accident.

My husband is going to love love love going through the canal. He likes that technical stuff. I can see us now. He will say "wow, look at that man made accomplishment", and I will say "ooh, look at the pretty bird/flower/tree/monkey" :rotfl: What a pair.

I say, look at their grades. ;) They're doing well? Yank 'em out. Take them to Panama. It's a wonderful life experience. They will remember it forever!!! But act quickly. There weren't many cabins left the other day.

So what is the first thing you want to do when you get on the Wonder?

We will probably head to Lunch at PC and then check out the differences between the Wonder and the Magic, since we have only been on the Magic.

We have our Palo's reservations so we don't need to make changes. Don't think we need any SPA treatments, but that could change.

Might get Galley or one of the drink tasting tickets. We have done the Alice Tea party so will probably do get tickets for this trip.

Anything that we might need to get or do before heading off to our room at 1:30?

Laura
