...and a happy New Year! 12/30/2010

Glad you are thinking about joining the FE. I don't think creative is a pre-requisite. On our last cruise we got things as simple as candy or lip gloss, notebooks, just whatever you desire. It is like Christmas, whatever the giver wants to give - it's the thought that counts!!!

Right now we have 11 families committed to the FE. The complete list is on post #2 on page 1 of this thread. As we get past the deadline, I will make sure everyone has the complete list. :surfweb:

Kathy,
Well, I definitely feel more at ease. Count me IN. I never want to have any regrets or say, "should've, could've, would've." Plus, I think it will only enhance the trip for my kids. I'm in room 7131 & 7129, but they're not connecting rooms with an interior door, so my plan is to get to the ship early and see if I can request a connecting room. But I can confirm the room number when we all meet the first day, right?

Absolutely, plus if for some reason you don't make that then you will have my room # on the ship and can call and I will make sure the info gets to all concerned.

I agree you don't want any regrets or "should've, could've, would've". I felt that way on our May cruise and just jumped into the FE and was so glad we did. My Mom absolutely enjoyed the distribution end and exploring the ship. I had a blast planning and deciding on the gifts, plus this time my DD is really helping me big time!!

I saw that someone just posted new Eastern navigators.

While it is on the magic and I am sure there will be differences since we are on the Wonder. They might be interesting to look at. I am sure ours will be very unique as we will be having a holiday on the cruise.

FYI. I like the new look of the navigator and the week at a glance one.

:welcome: Mike and Family and Darren Glad to have you joining this cruise.

I know we are a small group, but we are planning on meeting on embarkment day at 3pm in the Promenade lounge on Deck 3.

FE exchange is going on as well and you can look on post #2 of this thread that indicates who is traveling and who is participating in FE.

Mike, I see you are from FL, have you seen the great Florida rates for cat 5?

Thanks for the warm welcome! Sounds great about the meet in the Promenade Lounge. We will definitely be there. We have seen the FL Resident rates, that is what we used to book last minute :cool1::cool1:. What an awesome price.

:welcome: Mike, Paul & Joan. . . . so glad ya'll could join us. Let me know if you want to be included in the FE and I will get you on the list!! ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome! Unfortunately, we won't be able to do the FE this time. Having two cruises within a week of each other is going to keep us a little bit too busy, but thanks for the invite!

That is a great asssignment.

You are so much better on the gifts... I have ideas. Waiting until the cut off before I start working on them, because it determines which ones I select.
I am thinking some thing from Arizona.

BTW... We got our room assignment 5522 !!!!! (which I believe is next to some our our DIS Neighbors and a secret porthole room) We are pretty excited to be up on deck 5.

Laura

Hey! You're right next to us--we're in 5520, the SPH!

Hi Kari:wave2::wave2:

We will be quiet! We are going to have a nice secluded hallway.

Did ya'll see this? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2599324
I guess these will be on our cruise, I'm so excited because the walkie talkies we brought on our Carnival cruise didn't reach very far on the ship. I am so happy to have something to use to keep in touch with the kids when they are out and about. :thumbsup2

This is pretty cool. I figured they would charge for this, but I wonder how they deal with lost equipment or misplaced equipment. Not sure I would give one to my 8 year old. :scared1:

We live in Lake Mary too! We are off Old Lake Mary Rd, north of Lake Mary Blvd and Country Club Rd.. Carolyn works in the church office at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Sun Drive. We got the FL resident rate as well. Alex

Hi everyone! we just booked today! :cool1: We took the gty 12 and found cheap airfare from Montreal, so we are in!!! We had 5520 in March and loved the SPH, but for the price we are just happy to be on the ship.

We sailed on the Wonder last March and got hooked!

I am in for the FE and will let you all know my room when we know.

Who we are:
Me (Katie), DH (Ted), DS (7), and DD (3)

So much to do! Anyone happen to know when Formal night and Pirate night are? I want to book Palo, but brunch is gone... can I possibly book the brunch on the ship?

Kids just got their room assigned. They are Rm. 2136. Got upgraded from the category 12 to category 9. Still need to ask DD(21) if she wants to be part of the FE. I should probably think this through. I will some how be influenced in a way .... "oh mom, I have exams until Dec. 21, just had no time to make anything ... can you do it for me?"

Did you get the West Jet prices ... more sales were on today. You should be able to book Palo's when you get on board. I have been told to get on early, and go straight to book.

This is awesome! I'm so excited to hear this as I was feeling a bit uncomfortable thinking I might like to go out and about on the ship while the kids might want to still stay in bed or hang out in the cabin, etc. Now we can stay in touch. I'm kind of a protective mama...so YIPPEE for Disney!
Another reason I keep giving them all my vacation dollars. :) They always pay attention to the details and make things so much more relaxing for single parents traveling with kids.

Yep, we got West Jet! I saw $75 for the way down, but it was sold out by the time I booked so it was $89 down and $148 home... cheaper than Burlington!!!

The only thing is that we are flying in that day and landing at 10:30 assuming all is on time and taking the Disney bus... Maybe I will book a dinner to be safe and see about changing when we get there.

And I thought I got a good price last week. I would have save about $150/person if I would have booked this week. We are going down prior to Christmas and back after the Disney 5K run.

Ohio - that is where my DH father is from ... Dayton area.

I did the Princess 1/2 last March. Are you going to do the CC 5K? I am thinking about it. I was actually kicking myself for not realizing the DS still was off for the Disney Marathon weekend... I might have pushed myself to run the 1/2. Although, the snow and sleet from last year scared me a bit. I am a fair weather runner!

I was born in Columbus, but grew up in Xenia, also not far from Dayton!
