I was able to get an associate rate for this hotel, on Dec.3-6th. Has anyone stayed there before, if so what are your thoughts/opinions? Thanks!:)

I have only seen it from the outside. It is brand new and looks very nice. A few reviews I have read said it was great. It is not the most convenient to the parks but you will have access to the ART shuttle which costs $2.00 a day to get you to and from the parks.

This hotel is very nice! We stayed here in March of 2003. They actually share a shuttle with the Hyatt and Crowne Plaza, which are all right near each other and the shuttle is free. The rooms were great-suite room with bedroom and living area with sofa bed. It was great with kids! There's a Starbucks at the hotel and the pool/spa was nice. The hotel itself is in a parking lot with several restaurants, which is nice. There's a Red Robbin, Outback and Joe's Crab Shack. There's also a Target across the street if you need anything! We enjoyed this hotel. Have a great trip.

We're a family of 4 (two DDs ages 4 and 8). We're planning a DL trip in mid-March with another family (also two DDS ages 5 and 9 months), and we're considering the Marriott Suites. I have two questions for you since you've stayed there:

- Did all the rooms have kitchenettes?
- How was the pool? Big? Fun?

Looking forward to your reply! Thanks in advance!!!

Just one more question:

Did you try the fitness room, if so is it a decent size? I'm really looking forward to my first solo trip to DL!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

I'm wondering where I should eat. Any suggestions?

There's not a kitchenette in the room, but there is a refrigerator. The pool was large and we enjoyed it. It's pretty regular, though-not a "Disney" or other themed type of pool. We spent a good part of a day there-our relaxing time! It was not busy at all! March can have different weather though-it was warm enough to swim on that particular day, but then poured rain and was chilly on another one of our days. We went to Minnie's Kitchen at Paradise Pier during the rain storm! You can park at the hotel for free if you eat there. We didn't use the fitness room, sorry! We also didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, except to use the Starbucks. We love Red Robbin and Joe's Crab Shack which are right in the same parking lot as the hotel. Joe's has a playground for the kids and really great crab! Also the cocunut shrimp is excellent! There's a Carrows on Harbor, right down the street, which is decent. I wouldn't eat at any of the restaurants closer to Disney on Harbor, as they're all overpriced. We prefer to eat at Disneyland over those places. PizzaPort in tomorrowland is one of our favorites-they have good pasta dishes, salads and pizza and is the only place in the resort where you can get free drink refills. I was trying to add a picture of the pool, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that! Sorry about that!

I'm curious. Why not try your employee rate at the Marriott Anaheim, especially if you're going solo. I have never been but we are planning a trip this June using my husband's Marriott rewards points to book at the Disneyland Residence Inn and upgraded (using points) to the penthouse suite. I couldn't get a family suite (for a family of 5 including 3 teens!) at the Marriott Suites (as of now anyway) but I really would like to know your opinion when you get back. The funny thing is I work for Starwood Hotels but they make you wait 3 months prior before they let you know if you can get an employee rate - I just can't wait that long to plan my trip. Hope you have a great time.pirate:

I did check into the Anaheim Marriott, but the associate rate was not available:( but the Suites were and they do have a shuttle, so it may not be too bad.:p I'll keep you posted.
