an offbeat Disney wedding

i really LOVED seeing a disney wedding on a "non-disney" site! especially offbeat bride! enjoyable!

I love this website. I'm always checking out her blog for ideas for my offbeat wedding.

Have you listened to the Mario Kart love song? It's fab:goodvibes

I loved the cake! I love the OBB website too. It was nice seeing a Disney wedding there. Thank you for sharing this.:goodvibes

Thanks for posting this!! :thumbsup2 I love OBB! That's been recently added to my websites I check daily...haha!

the cake design was inspired by 19th century machinery, the movie Wild Wild West, treadle Singer sewing machines, and the engine rooms of the Titanic !!

Wow! That's incredible! Are you the bride? If so, you should do a TR. I would love to read about your wedding and see more pictures.:thumbsup2

Do you work with the bakers at the GF? Just curious. I am the bride, so I'm interested as to how you know where the inspiration came from for the cake.

I'm glad everyone loves it as much as we did. Disney did an amazing job on both of our cakes, the Steampunk and the Katamari groom's cake.

My favorite part were the LED lights under the white chocolate domes that changed colors.. beautiful! And completely unexpected.

Hi April,

I'm Cheryl, the bride. What is a TR? And what would you like to know? A fellow offbeat bride referred me over here when she mentioned someone had posted our wedding here. :)

Take care!

Hi Cheryl,

Congratulations! I loved what I've seen of your wedding so far.
A TR is a Trip Report. A lot of the Disney Brides make a PJ (Planning Journal) when they're in the planning stages and then a TR after the wedding. I haven't started my PJ yet but I love reading everyone elses.

Perhaps some of the other brides who have done one could explain better than me. I would love to read more about your wedding and hear your reviews on floral, photography (I'm using The Arndt's too, love them), GF Bakery which I'm sure you're thirilled with! Your officiant, etc.

Welcome to the Disboards!:yay:

That would be me! :hippie: I'm so glad you stopped by!

April pretty much summed it up but a trip report is basically a recap of your wedding day (some people like to recap their entire visit to the parks, including the days leading up to the wedding day). Usually people include pictures and reviews of their vendors, which helps other WDW brides plan their day. And us non-WDW brides just like looking at the wedding p0rn. :)

TRs are posted in the "Planning our happily ever after" section of the forum, here: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=166

Wow cool. Too bad France has stupid residency laws about getting married there because Discoveryland (Jules Verne themed version of Tomorrowland in Disneyland Paris) would have been the perfect backdrop for this wedding.
