An October 2012 trip in the making Update 10/4 - Final update

You already have so many pics of WDW. I'd go for the pocket camera and forego the bagcheck. :thumbsup2

I always bring a bag, so I don't know what it's like not to go through bag check.

I alternate between my compact digital and my dslr. But, when I bring my dslr, I don't bring my camera bag. I usually just carry it around my neck. You could try to alternate as well. If you know one day you'd like to take lots of photos at the MK, bring the dslr. For other MK days, just bring the compact digital.

HI Scott,
All of the ADRs sound great, I heard really good things about the new wine bar In Italy. It looks really good, you will have to check that out and let me know.
Brenda

We have a great little camera that Frank uses which I think might be the only camera we are bringing for October. You have been there done that so many times I would just go without the dslr and be free.
Yeah. We shall see as we might venture out of the "world".

I use a small camera....although it fits in my bag!! :rotfl2: Still have to go through the bag check line! If I didn't have to carry a bag, I'd love it!!:thumbsup2
I do love no bag. Thanks

I am thinking of bringing both. Thanks.

Here, Scott! I am very excited that you are back on the DIS for your ptr!
:welcome:
Thanks.

:welcome:
Thanks. We are definitely going to do the wine bar but probably during the week. The Tutto Italia adr is on Saturday.

In this section let’s talk about my hopes for this trip. I was hoping to go to Sea World and Silver Springs however today we decided the extra days (10/16-10/20) will be spent in the world. AARP (Vinny has this, I am to young) had 3 day tickets and they give you 2 free days so 5 day park hopper tickets for the price of 3 days. :cool1: I have decided I will renew my AP.

Now that this is settled the camera issue is also settled, just a small camera. I have plenty pics of Disney so I don’t need the DSLR.

Now some other hopes.

1) I am hoping to go to the Italian Regional Food & Wine Luncheons at Tutto Italia in the wine cellar. Reservations open on August 14th so I will know better than if we can get in.
2) Parks. I want to spend a lot of time in the parks at night. We never seem to get back there at night and this trip I really want to.
3) I want to enjoy the Food & Wine Festival. Vinny does not like it (says the portions are too small) but I would like to sample it a little more. At least the drinks. :O)
4) Call me crazy but I think I would like to try the theater where you can eat there too. It looks like it might be fun.
5) I would love to rent a pontoon boat for an hour and take it out. Not sure if I would do this by Magic Kingdom resorts or if Downtown Disney area is better than go by POR and OKW.
6) Food wise I am happy so far with the adr’s. I do still have 5 or 6 more to make and am thinking about them.
7) Hotels. Well I am still out for the last 4 nights. It is probably going to be Coronado Springs.
8) FUN. I just want to have a fun and relaxing trip.
9) Spend some fun days with Lorrie and Kristel.

We have 75 more days till we go down. The time is going so slow. Then it will go so fast. LOL.

Up next,

Day 1 plans

The boats are fun, I cannot wait to finally get to the food and wine fest, smaller portions are better so you can try more variety.

he hates the amount for the price. I don't mind. :rotfl2:

Vinny did score a great deal on his ticket! Makes me want to be old enough for AARP. LOL!

I think it is wise to spend the entire time on Disney property. It is just too hard to leave (the motivation for me is lacking) and go somewhere else.

Your list of hopefuls looks good -- I love the parks at night and the Food and Wine Festival. So many neat things to sample!

Vinny got a great deal! And you know how I feel about AARP LOL!
I love your list of hopes for the trip. And I hope you get to go to the luncheon.

Yes, I agree.....the portions are smaller so you can try different things! Tell Vinny to just give in....it's Disney pricing! LOL! :rotfl2: I do enjoy going to the countries & trying "small" portions of their foods. Can't wait!!

it was a good price. LOL. Not me.
I really wanted to go to Sea World but another time.
Yeah! Hopefully we will be out and someone won't get tired.

he did. :rotfl2: I do.
Thanks. I hope so to. Sounds like fun.

I like sampling it too. Vinny just thinks it is a waste of money. He is cheap. :rotfl2:

Sorry about Sea World. I am hoping to get there and Universal again eventually. Vinny got a great deal and can't you be on his membership as his spouse? I am thinking of joining just for the free donut at DD with a coffee purchase. :lmao:

2) I love the parks at night. So many great photo opportunities especially if you hang back from the crowds.

3) The F&W festival is my favorite part of the timing for these trips. I can be a little adventurous and try new things. NO SNAILS however. I will never be that adventurous. You can not get any cheaper than I am, I think you saw an example of how well I eat CHEAPLY this past weekend.

6) We finished our ADR's after you left monday. We are really crazy and have left one day open. We may try the Big River Grill on the boardwalk but you can't make an ADR for them through Disney's site.

8) Fun - totally agree. I want to have fun and relax.

9) We can't wait to spend some time with you and Vinny but figure you will want some time alone. I will make the ultimate sacrifice and ride Buzz with Vinny to keep your trip fun and relaxing.

LOL. I think I cannot join being I am too young.
I love them at night too. So pretty.
Oh come one and try one there. They come in ice cube trays.
If you try there let us know. Always wanted to try it if you want company.
My 2 favorite words.
LOL. alone time? we are there for 12 days I think we will have it. :rotfl2:
He said he is riding alone. He won't.

Time to break down the days. Now please know these are only hopes or tentative plans for the days.

Day 1 – Morning:

We have a car picking us up very early. I have learned one thing flying out of a NYC airport, the earlier the better before the delays start. We should be arriving in Orlando around 10. I am hoping to be at the resort and checked in by 11:30.

Right now we are booked at SSR. I am thinking we will either go to Animal Kingdom or go to Downtown Disney. If we go to AK it will be a short visit. Maybe grab a quick lunch at Flame Tree and then do the safari and maybe catch one of the shows. If we go to DTD then it will be lunch at Earl’s and then some shopping. Either way then it will be back to the resort to unpack and rest and freshen up. We have dinner plans that evening at The Turf Club with Lorrie and Kristel.

Scenario # 2 would be we get the waitlist for either Beach Club or Boardwalk. If this is the case then we would go to ESPN for lunch and then go to Epcot for the day and then return and rest and freshen up.
Like I said dinner will be at The Turf Club and I am looking forward to it again. We ate there in April and it was really good. I loved sitting outside and I am hoping it will be nice so we can do that again.

Those are the plans for day 1.

Up next,

It will not go so fast. I will be breaking it down by morning, afternoon and night with our hopes and plans.

That's a good day 1. Heck, when we come to wdw its an all day project.
Travel, then sleep. lol

I just wish I knew about the waitlists but I have them going till 7 days before.

There will travel then sleep also. :rotfl2:

But... but... but, you were not going to renew your AP, I had to LOL:rotfl: you and your changes. I totally understand, good to know about the AARP I think I know someone who may qualify in a year :scared1:

Did you see they are going to be cutting an hour out of the evening EMH !!!!! Not sure the start date but that stinks, I love the parks at night .

I remember reading from last year's F&W there was a really great deal on one of those "dining in the theatre" things. I'll have to see if I wrote it down, I remember thinking it was well worth the price with all of the wine, cocktails and courses. I think it was like $125 per person and that included gratuity. I know that seems like alot but it was a deal.

I am going to go look for that now.
