No, I really hadn't planned on using it as a checklist, just as mere guideline. Kind of like "The Code". (read Barbossa) If I take to checklisting, then I suddenly have "work" to do. And this is NOT about work. Let's call the lists TOYS.

I have always thought of the WS as being so boring...and this will add some spice to it!

Now...I don't plan on spending HOURS on end there...but I am truly excited to find some of these hidden gems and see some things I have never seen before.

about your medical issue! Hope you are feeling better today. That is not fun! I haven't been running, but my friend and I have been trying to walk 4 miles a day and my hip and tail bone is killing me! Getting older is for the birds!!

Welcome BACK!!! I slept very well, but had the most ODD dream about Benny Hill being murdered by his co-worker's daughters angry boyfriend?? And I didn't even have a cocktail last night.

It's been fun putting those together in the few spare moments I have. I'm glad they are almost done, because those spare moments are disappearing quickly!

I'm feeling great!!! I ran yesterday, and things are not worse. In fact, I joined a running forum yesterday, and everyone there encouraged me to go up to the next level, and to not be afraid etc... It was really just the spanking I needed!

I totally agree though. This getting old thing really sux! I get older on Saturday, and am trying to decide if I should hold a big party and cook all day for my friends, as per the local tradition.

Yeah, that's exactly it. So much for feeling special and all that. I guess it stems from the fact that this is a "hospitality culture". They really do view guests as an HONOR to have, and the more they serve, and the better they treat you, the better THE HOST/HOSTESS looks. I'd rather be treated to a seafood dinner and be given loads of extra cash for my trip!

What's interesting is that Uzbekistan is now a VERY closed country and things are in total disrepair. The Andijon uprising was a devastating backsliding in human rights in which the military mowed down over 1,000 people in one fell swoop. Things are crumbling everywhere, so it wouldn't surprise me if this "park-ish utopia" is nothing more than a shell of anything.

Yet, when I teach English here, and mention DisneyWorld and show pictures, they always feel compelled to remind me that Tashkent has a Disneyland. I have to convince them that it's in absolutely NO way part of the real deal. I don't think very many of them believe me.
