An Invasion of a "STRANGER" Kind.... NEW THREAD IS UP!! Go Thee NOW!

Aw, I'm sorry. In every area, the outstanding guest service Disney was always known for has taken a stroll down another lane. Me thinks it is a custom of the past and we'll not be seeing the original again.

While Hoop-Dee-Doo is not equal to MNSSHP, it is fun! :goodvibes

Yes, I've heard that more and more- it's so sad to see it all going so far downhill. But I believe there are still magic moments to be had- I still hear about all kinds of those too. :goodvibes

No, HDDR is not even close to what I imagine MNSSHP being, but what's a trio of fun-loving gals to do on a late evening?? I"ve done Hoop, and I think it's a safe bet that LeeAnn and Mary will LOVE it- as long as they are willing to put their best "silly" on. ;)

Liesa, I so agree. While original Disney customer service is missed, the magic is alive and well. :goodvibes A lot of that happens in our own hearts and attitude. No matter what cutbacks may happen, Main Street will be alive and well, these eyes will well up each time I see it for the first, last and in between time we visit. :goodvibes

Every time we take a first time visitor with us to WDW, HDDR is a must. Always a huge hit (even with a couple of stick in the mud types!). ::yes::

So true. And I think a lot of that has to do with keeping out the pervasive, what I call, "spirit of entitlement". Everyone seems to think that if someone else gets something, I should get it too. It's a horrible disease that can ruin a lot of everything!

I wish more people could find the magic in a well-done store front/ window display, just the SIGHT of a bunch balloons on Mn. Street, or a sit on a bench to listen to the background music. It's there, but sometimes we have to slow down long enough to see it.

The sangria at Hoop always helps to lighten the mood, does it not?? :lmao:

Heading there now. THANKS!!!

I'm not even going to try and catch up so I just wanted to say HI!

Just dive in here, Melissa!!! Lots of chatter, but nothing too earth shattering. I'm just starting a new series on the content of my journals.

Let's get this party rolling! It is NOW May, and I feel at liberty to start this series on the tasty little nuggets that lie within the pages of the Trip Journals- AKA My brains on paper.

I think I'll start with Minnie- Ladies First, right??

Minnie is Officially the Trip PLANNER part of the Dynamic Duo. More like notes on what to do, where things are, ideas, and dreams. It is more of a reference guide so to speak and won't get too many more additions from here on out. Well, I can think of a couple things, but not much.

So, let's now take a look at Chapter 1- A compilation of all the things about MK that sound intriguing or that I want to be sure to look out for. All these ideas in this and the several following chapters are the result of long, hard, yet terribly fun hours of researching books, websites, TRs, you name it. I took the best of the best, and wrote them down on the following pages to jog my memory along the touring way. Of course, I don't want them to be a legalistic checklist, just a convenient place to be tucked away in case my scavenger hunt personality gets the upperhand.

And here you are:

The graphics for this and all the other chapter headers came from various sources. Some are from the DISigns Threads, others were specially commissioned to Cynthia!! I don't think eandesmom did this one, though.

Then after the Title page, I stuck in an overall Top 10, like this:

Following the Top 10, are several pages, broken down by various "Lands" with fun things to find or photo ops done by others. Bascially, they are the hidden gems there for the searching.

Main Street:

Liberty Square:

Frontier Land:

Adventure Land:

Tomorrow Land:

Fantasy Land:

Honestly, I have no idea how these photos will turn out, but they hopefully, will give you an idea of how things are laid out in Minnie. I hope I've done her proud. :goodvibes

If you have any questions whatsoever on any of the things I've written, just let me know. I'd be happy to try to explain what it's talking about! I know some of them are rather cryptic in nature.

the pages look great! None of mine so far but what wonderful information in there!

Ooh the lists look interesting !! I can't wait to see the pix !!!! Sorry I have not been around much !! I keep getting lost on facebook ,:confused3 then add in 60 hours of work and you can see I have a choice of sleep or not !!:rotfl2:Seeing as I have almost fallen asleep at the keyboard every night I guess my body votes SLEEP!!!:lmao:

Hey! Welcome back! I'm positive I remember which ones are yours- they are definitely of a different genre- meaning really great!

Lots of fun stuff, fo sho!:thumbsup2

Take care of yourself, Rosie!! 60 hours sure sounds like a lot to me!!

Sleep would be sounding awfully nice to me!

Wow, your MK chapter looks great!! This is so exciting!

Thanks, TG!! It's getting really, really exciting!

Very cool to see your pages. Definitely a good idea to have a list of the "cool" things to look for. I had a list printed out, but didn't take it to the parks with me. It's one of those things that is easier to do without the kids and/or when you've been to the parks multiple times and can actually take in the details. :thumbsup2

I forgot to mention that these babies are only 4X6, so I think they'll be pretty easy to cart around in my park bag. I think you're right. I wouldn't have bothered with my kids who thought they needed to drag me around like a rag doll. This, my friend, is a totally different kind of trip altogether! ;)

I noticed 3 things today. Would you like the good, the bad, or the ugly first? Yes, I knew you were an optimistic bunch, so here goes the good news. OK, the first thing I noticed today, when I turned on my computer was that my ticker SAYS 3 months and some spare change. 3 MONTHS, People!!!! 3 MONTHS and some days that hardly count, because some of it will be travel, or vacation or whatever. The important number here is 3!!!!

So I suppose that means it is time for yet another ranking upgrade, or self-promotion as we like to call it around here. Boy HoWdY!!! I have no idea WHAT we even are right now. Doesn’t matter this time around; just figure, whatever we WERE, we are now above it. Lieutenants?? Passe, baby! Sergeants?? Forget it! Anyway, I’ll make extra sure, that by next month, I have it figured out, and let you know what rank we’ve promoted ourselves to and you can grab your party drink and celebrate with us. Heck, you even have my permission to do that RIGHT NOW for this happy occasion! Go ahead, grab a cold one, and slug it down. We’re almost ready to launch our rocket!!

Now, onto the bad. The bad news today is that our sewer (I can hear you! I know you just said under your breath, “Oh brother! Not this rot again!) is not working at its optimal free-flowing self again. Definitely not in a crisis state like last time I brought up this crappy situation, but bad enough that it’s once again making Hubby Grumpy Pants in a very bad mood. Yes, once again, the pump will have to give things a stir, and once again he’ll have to “invite” the city clean out dudes to pump the manhole in our street, and argue about whose responsibility it is, who has to pay, etc….. What on earth does this have to do with Disney you might ask yourself? Well, let’s just say, that it is things of this very nature which make me yearn for that vacation even more!! Psssst…. we’re down to 3 months and some.

And for the ugly… one of the more grisly things I noticed today was that the ghastly calling cards, left behind by each of my children as they entered this fine world, were making an announcement that they wanted to rule my life for the time being. Now, if you’re over 40, have ever had a baby, or just plain old have poor vascular function, you are allowed to keep reading. If not, run! Run far, and run fast!

Yesterday, I was running along just fine. Literally. Life was good and things were status quo. NOT today. Today, I was quite alarmed that my very sitting was not going to happen like business as usual. IT was, in fact, the first thing I noticed today. Even before I noticed my ticker has a magical number 3 in it. Look, I have nothing against my children. They had to come out in the normal fashion, but on days like this, I wonder if it was all worth it. A couple months ago, I thought that a bum neck was the worst, but I am here to testify that this malady is dead even with that in terms of pain; it’s just NOT a “pain in the neck”, it’s a pain in the ….well, you get the idea. So, here I am semi-reclined on the couch, my pillow, my blankie, and my laptop all cozied up next to me. Do you think running is going to happen anytime soon? I’m sorta doubting it. What on earth does this have to do with my Disney vacation, you might ask yourself? Well, duh. I can’t keep my Disney training up, and it certainly takes my mind OFF planning and ON other places. I hope it’s all cleared up in 3 MONTHS!!!!!!

And....

We have CIRQUE Tickets!!!!

Which means we have our SEATS!

Here is the seating chart:

La-nouba-seatingChart.jpg

We got some GREAT Category 2 Seats.

Since this is our first time, we decided we wanted to be sorta far back so that we could see everything. They say if you are too far up close that you can see details, but may miss the "big picture". There is also entertainment that is further back at times, from what I understand...sorta like Finding Nemo.

I was willing to fork out some extra money for Category 1 seats in the back section, but toward the front...but when I saw THESE seats...I grabbed them instead! They are perfect!

La-nouba-seatingChart-1.jpg

We are on the very front row of the BLUE section 203. Right behind the opening...So no one is sitting in "front" of us. :)

We can even put our feet up on the rail. ;)

So...whatcha think?

:woohoo: :cheer2: :yay:

GREAT seats! I absolutely LOVED that show! Our seats were section 103, end seats, the last row, just in front of your seats. OMGosh, fabulous seats!! We loved our seats too. So happy for you! :goodvibes

So, you can imagine, there’s just too much to hold in one’s brain when it comes to planning something that is the scope of a nearly 2 week foray in to the Battleground of Disney World! It needs to get on paper, and that’s what I’ve done. It’s now time to introduce you to my brains on paper- Code named:

The Mickey and The Minnie

Obviously, they are not bound yet- otherwise how would I lay out their loveliness for you? Imagine them with brass-ish (yes, I realize that is not a word) metal bindings.

There is no way to keep all that they hold between their lovely pages in my pregnancy-pilfered gray matter. No. Way. It had to be archived into the best I could do, with the limited resources I have. Even toward the end of my creative processes, my printer ran out of ink- and there’s no telling when we’ll find cartridges to bring it back to life. Probably not before we leave… sigh…. I’m really not sure of the best way to showcase all the treasures that they hold, and I know I’d lose your rapt attention fairly quickly if we went page by page. So, instead, I think we’ll go chapter by chapter, and give you a small sampling of the nuggets therein. Unless you scream for more. Which I doubt will happen. So, May is the month of the binders, and all kinds of other random nonsense to keep it fun and lighthearted. Who knows, they may be so incredibly amazing that one day they’ll be added to the collection of the most important documents of the American people at NARA. Look for them one day.

Cute binders by the way. :goodvibes

I know how much you like Cirque and thought you'd like to know...a guy in two of my classes did an internship there back in 2003!!
