Oh, to be shopping in Epcot right now!!!
Very nice pictures.
Love the Moroccan tiles. I took a couple of pictures of them, too, last Friday.
I didn't even get a chance to eat a pastry from any country this time.
I need a do-over!
Thank you! I love going to Epcot with my mom because she likes to poke around and take pictures, too.
You do need a do-over! Did you at least get a pretzel from Norway??

I'm squeezing in a quick update before I leave for work and then go out for the weekly bowling with Michael, Charles, and some others!
Day 4 -- Saturday, February 14. A lil bit of AK, a lil bit of AKL, and Boma!
After I discussed with Kailyn and my dad (via text messages) meeting up at AK, my mom and I hopped a bus to AK.
I didn't take many pictures, because I was getting hungry (I had only had something at Pop, then a pastry), and I tend to get grumpy when I'm hungry. I did manage to take a picture of this, though...
Baby Simba in a blanket! They had lots of "baby" versions of characters in blankets and they were so adorable! I really wanted to buy one, but I didn't.
We found a bench just inside the park and I texted Kailyn to let her know where we were. They got there, and we were trying to figure out what to do. I was noticeably hostile because I was hungry, and really wanted to get something quick to eat, so we headed over to the Dinosaur area and got a little snack. I ended up with a churro and a root beer float, but I didn't bother with pictures.
We meandered back to the front of the park and discovered that the Jammin' Jungle Parade was going on. It was SO PACKED. I had really wanted to see this parade, but we didn't have a lot of time, and people were standing 4 or 5 deep. It was crazy. I held the camera over my head and snapped a picture while walking but I forgot to upload it.
Once we got through the crowd, we made a pit stop in a bathroom, where I looked in the mirror as I was washing my hands, and discovered that I had gotten a sunburn. I was wearing a t-shirt that day but didn't really think of the possibility of my arms and my face getting burned.

It wasn't bad (I've had much worse, trust me); it was just annoying.
This is my arm,
and this is me being appalled over it.
We made our way to the AKL bus stop to go to Boma.
Kailyn wouldn't take pictures with me, so I took pictures by myself.
I can't remember if I mentioned this or not, but my mom is an infant/toddler teacher, and one of the songs that she sings pretty much every day is "The Wheels on the Bus." She said that she had told a coworker that she was thrilled to not have to hear the song for over a week. I'm sure you know where this is going.

I found the bus driver absolutely hilarious, but my mom was less than amused. My dad and I were singing along.
After that amusing (or torturous, if you're an infant/toddler teacher), we arrived at AKL. I so want to stay here one day!
"Hey Meg, get a picture of this!"
Our reservation was for 5:55, and it was around 5 when we got to AKL. My mom, Kailyn, and I poked around in the gift shop and my dad went to get us checked in, then we all went to the lobby to wait.
I walked around to take some pictures, but I didn't want to go to far, since I'm severely directionally challenged. Charles could tell you stories about me not even being able to follow a GPS.
I love the chairs in the lobby, but they're so big and overstuffed that your feet don't touch the ground. It makes me feel like a little kid.
Our pager went off around 5:20, so we were seated a half-hour early!
This is my first plate. I didn't really keep track of everything that I ate, but I did try for food porn pictures. I also have this weird thing about my food touching, so all of my plates at buffets look like this.
A hunk of flatbread with two kinds of hummus (sun-dried tomato and olive), coconut rice, and a hunk of meat. I'm not a coconut person, because I hate the texture, but I don't mind the taste. I liked the rice, the hummus were good, and the meat was really good! I forget what kind of spices were on it, but it was yummy.
This is my dad's plate.
Coconut rice, meat, and some watermelon salad with watermelon, blue cheese, and tomato. It sounds weird, but I ended up getting some as well and liked it a lot.
Now for dessert. This is clearly the most important.
Banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce (YUM!), cherry cobbler, pineapple upside-down cheesecake (YUM), two zebra domes (YUM!), and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the little thing between the domes. I know that it had alcohol in it, and that it was REALLY good, but I can't remember the name. Guess I need to go back and find out!
We were absolutely stuffed after. My dad ended up getting tea, and they served it with a few different kinds of tea.
Tilt your head to the left...there you go. See the little face in the water? What the heck is that about? I noticed it as soon as I took the picture!
While Dad enjoyed his tea, I helped myself to lemonade and diet Coke,
and Kailyn peered at me through a straw.
Up next -- a very, very short update. Spectro and a short-lived night at MK (I don't even want to do this part because it's when Kailyn got sick

)
Have a fabulous Friday!
