The main hotel buildings are also making significant progress. Vertical construction is now nearing the planned maximum height, with large concrete panels and structural steel in place across most of the core resort footprint. This resort is following the same efficient construction method used recently at Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.

The North and West A-Frame units are positioned at the edges of the resort, while the central hotel structure wraps around a feature courtyard and pool complex. Additional treehouse-style accommodations are also in the plans, reflecting the resort’s “inspired by nature” theme.

The extensive footprint includes dedicated parking, new roadways, and guest amenities spread throughout the wooded site, which sits between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

Lakeshore Lodge is expected to open in 2027 and will join Disney’s growing collection of Vacation Club resorts.

The one thing I find a bit odd about the shape and layout of the resort - that the arcs all curve toward the lake view, which I presume is going to be a higher point-class (lake view vs woods view?). That means that the balconies looking out towards the lake are generally going to be less private than the ones facing the woods...I would have thought they'd want to design it the other way around.

Seems that Disney is connecting Wilderness lodge and FW more since the LL construction. We're at BRV currently and I don't remember the busses to MK and from Epcot stopping at the fort previously. Hoping they plan to reopen the path between them as well. Maybe after LL is finished.

I think it would help restaurant choice, opening it with golf cart access would also be cool.

The proximity to Settlement wouldn't really need golf cart access to the resort - it's awfully close so you could be staying at Fort Wilderness and park in the settlement golf cart lot to walk over.

I'm still trying to figure out the A-frames located on the Fort Wilderness side of the resort - they're essentially going to be on Fort Wilderness' property where the beach used to be, and the farthest cabins look like they'll be right next to Trail's End and Crockett's...anyone staying in those A-frames would be closer to the Fort Wilderness restaurants than the actual resort building!

That would be good for people staying at FW. Not sure Disney would go for it though; seems to me they won't want the carts on a walking or jogging path.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge Under Construction

August 28, 2025 Update: Work quietly resumed on this project almost exactly one year ago, and has moved at a really fast pace. There are currently a half-dozen cranes on site and the base structures have now been topped off at their maximum heights, as work begins to enclosure some of the structures. As you can see from the photos below, even some windows have been installed!
Active construction is visible from Bay Lake, Wilderness Lodge, and even the Settlement area of Fort Wilderness. Lots of concrete, rebar, columns, and activity from the cranes.

Here’s a look at new photos from Fall 2025:

Large concrete panels and structural steel are now in place across most of the resort’s footprint. Disney is utilizing the same efficient construction method for Lakeshore Lodge that likewise enabled Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Resort to be built expeditiously. Note that there are multiple connected buildings that form the main resort, and not all have been equally far along throughout the project.

Beyond the main building, there are waterfront A-Frame units and treehouse villas planned for the periphery of the resort. In the photos below, you can see the units that are closed to Wilderness Lodge. There’s another set in place on the former Clementine Beach at Fort Wilderness–those are right next to the boat launch.

Walt Disney World hasn’t really said much officially about Disney Lakeshore Lodge. With the Island Tower at the Polynesian still brand new and in active sales, this makes sense. Disney Vacation Club doesn’t want to steal the spotlight from that. What we do know officially is that Disney Lakeshore Lodge is projected to open in 2027.

Given the current pace of the project, our expectation is that it opens in the first half of 2027. Quite honestly, it wouldn’t surprise us in the least if Disney moved this up to late 2026. It probably depends on when it’s most strategically-advantageous to launch a new DVC resort from a sales perspective, so perhaps Island Tower sales are more outcome-determinative than construction progress.

Just asked onsite if I could tour the cabins- they said the touring hours are 12:30 to 1:30 only.

They are actively trying not to sell these things ….
Is that just the "open house" time where you can walk through a cabin without a guide?

I only ask because that's how the SSR preview center works if you don't schedule a specific tour time with a sales guide.

I asked to see the cabins tomorrow and said I was available until noon - that was the response

We did the open house in January during those hours. They let us walk through by ourselves.

Interesting. I can't imagine all the time slots would be full tomorrow morning!

Exactly. I am wondering if it was a less enthusiastic DVC kiosk rep or something and they just gave the free time to roam rather than setup an actual sales walkthrough 🤔

This was the one by the lounge in MK ( and she was the one that was the most “DVC”) lounge has a weird vibe as well, lots of stressing where you can sit like it was a restaurant and over 5 people working, vs my “ I will sit wherever you like I just want a quick coke” vibe.

The real trip was the AK booth on Wednesday…. Least friendly DVC booth but it was a hot and exhausting morning.

Wow! You'd think they would want the happiest, most enthusiastic people pushing these tours.

I feel like I always get chatty reps by GF Cafe and Contempo Cafe. It's either that or I am in the mood to talk with them while waiting for an ADR or foor to be made 🤣

Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction Continues to Resemble Reflections Resort

Crews have added more supports to the Disney Lakeshore Lodge entrance and A-frame cabins at Walt Disney World.

Steel framework of a building under construction between two partially completed structures, with vehicles and equipment nearby.
The entrance structure now has slanted beams meeting at a jagged point in the center. The framework is still not complete, but it continues to reflect the concept art for the entrance of Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge.

Reflections Lodge Concept Art

Reflections was the original resort planned for this space. Construction began just before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and the project was later thought to be canceled. It was resurrected as Disney Lakeshore Lodge, but Disney has not confirmed how much the new resort will resemble the Reflections concept art.

A lakeside view of a hotel and two red swinging amusement park rides partially hidden by trees.
Crews are adding awning frames to the A-frame cabins on the east side of the resort. There are about seven cabins on this side, currently hidden behind trees. We would guess these trees may come down before construction is complete.

The new frameworks stick out of the sides of the cabins. We also saw crew members in lifts working inside a cabin with an umbrella for shade.

Four triangular metal structures under construction by a lake, with trees and clouds in the background.
Awning structures were already added to the cabins on the west side of the resort, by Clementine Beach. These four cabins have unobstructed views of the lake.

Like the entrance, these cabins are based on the Reflections concept art.

The artwork specifically seems to show the cabins on the east side of the resort, with some trees along the water, but the view is mostly clear for guests staying inside. There are overhangs jutting out of the sides. The larger awnings appear to cover outdoor patios.

A fenced-off construction site with scattered pipes and materials, trees in the background, and a dock in the foreground.

Posts in the ground at the end of the row of cabins indicate another building may be constructed at the beach.

Trees with hanging moss partially block the view of a building under construction by the water's edge.

In our last few updates, we’ve kept an eye on another building near the lakeshore. Mostly made out of red steel, this may be a lakefront bar or restaurant. Though, as with the cabins, there are still several trees blocking a potential lake view.

More steel has been installed on top of the structure. At least for now, these frames don’t yet appear to be tall enough for a second story, but more could be added later.

Several mid-rise apartment buildings under construction with cranes and scaffolding near a body of water.

Across the resort, we’re seeing progress on walls and roofing. Another floor has received white sheathing on this section of the building.

We saw crew members working on the roof, with a crane above. Concrete forms are in place for new wall columns.

Red frames were installed across the rooftops in recent weeks. Again, these appear to be the beginnings of flat overhangs and towers from the Reflections concept art. The rooftops also have slanted steel frames.

On the wing closest to Clementine Beach, more black sheathing has been installed over the yellow barrier. There’s also now a steel frame roof over this wing’s red overhang piece.

Workers on scaffolding renovate a building behind trees and a wooden structure under a clear blue sky.
On the other side of the building, this wall is now completely covered in gray paneling. Crew members were working on the top level of scaffolding, where windows are covered by protective tarps.

Steel frames actually hang slanted over the top of this section. Sliding glass doors have been installed on most of these guest rooms.

Through the openings, we can see the steel frames of future guest room walls.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is right next to Fort Wilderness Resort, along Bay Lake. It’s on the former site of the defunct water park River Country. Like the Reflections concept, Disney Lakeshore Lodge is a Disney Vacation Club resort and will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” It’s set to open in 2027
