Day 3, part 3 -- Friday, February 13. Epcot!
After an almost three hour nap on my part, I was wide-awake and ready to go. Epcot was having evening EMH, so we decided to go there. I'm guessing that we grabbed a bite to eat at the food court, because this came before any Epcot pictures...
The Hustle!! I had totally forgotten about that. I tried taking pictures with and without flash, but they kept on coming out dark. It was so funny.
When we got up to get in line at the turnstiles, my dad kept on trying to push in front of me. I managed to stay in front of him, and when my back was turned, he said something like, "think I should go in like this?"
He didn't, thank goodness. They're incredibly hard to see through, so he took them off until we got inside the park.
We decided to do the WS and start with Mexico. There's a ride to ride and a place to shop!
I LOVE this ride. I only got a few decent pictures.
Naturally, we had to poke around in the little marketplace area. I didn't buy one of these, but look at how cute they are!
I ended up purchasing some kind of flask for Charles, just because it looked cool. My mom got a few things as well.
The mural outside.
We went to China and explored the BIG store that they have. I was fascinated with all of the things that they had there!
I'm not sure why this didn't rotate, but my mom and I each ended up buying one of these. Not that exact one. I purchased one that had an elephant incense holder, instead of the flower. I can't remember which one my mom got.
Mine are currently displayed on a little shelf in my room.
I'm guessing that this is because it's probably shipped from China, but I had SUCH a hard time trying to get that stuff out. It was glued down very, very well, to the point where I was scared I was going to end up breaking one of the tiny things. It did all survive the flight back to Boston, and I did manage to get it out without breaking something. The little box didn't survive my tearing things out, though.
Illuminations was starting when we left! We just kept on walking through, but I wanted to keep on stopping to try to get some pictures.
We went to Japan after. My mom, Kailyn, and I love this shop to pieces. There's so many cool things! I was very tempted to buy Charles a keychain that made noises like bubble wrap, but I decided to put the $8.00 towards something better. I ended up purchasing him a sake cup with his name written on it in Japanese, since that's the kind of thing that he really likes. He was excited about the cup, but he was even more excited when he saw the writing.
I think that Kailyn purchased one of these.
The people working there always ask if you want them to open it for you, since it's NOT easy. We got some last year and were struggling. The plastic over the top part illustrates how, but that's also the part that you have to rip away in order to GET to the drink itself. We did not realize that. There's also a place near us that sells it, so Kailyn opened it with little difficulty this time.
I liked the label. Kasugai peanuts and me?!
After Japan, I think we found a place to sit in the American pavilion. Dad decided to head back to the room, and Mom, Kailyn, and I stayed.
I got one of the drinks that I was dying to try -- an orange Grand Marnier slushie!
One of the guys working in there was funny. I asked for the slushie (with my ID ready -- to some, I still look like I'm in high school), and he said, "yes, as soon as I see your beautiful... *pauses and checks ID* ...Massachusetts ID." Then he asked, "Meghan, are you a Patriots fan?" I said yes, and he said, "then you cannot have one."
I made off with my yummy slushie, and we sat down and just people-watched and talked while I enjoyed my slushie. It was really good, but for some reason my mind canceled out the whole "Grand Marnier" part and focused on the "slush" part, and it was a little stronger-tasting than I expected. I mean, hello, it's a slushie, but it HAS ALCOHOL. I do not know how my mind works.
This was what we were facing when we were sitting down.
We headed over to Test Track after, since Kailyn hadn't gotten a chance to ride it yet, and really wanted to. We cut through Mouse Gears. At some point during the trip, my mom ended up purchasing this Tink:
It took me a few days to hunt it down again, but I ended up buying this.
This FREAKED. ME. OUT. From the angle that I was looking at it, it looked so real and it was really bothering me. I'm not a fan of mannequins or dummies (the Twilight Zone episode with the ventriloquist dummy really, really, freaked me out -- anyone seen that one?), and lifelike ones really bother me.
Kailyn asked me why I took a picture if it was freaking me out, and I said that I had to share it on the DISboards.
We had a really amusing single rider this time. He was a short, cute, older Asian gentleman, and he tried to talk to me a few times, but he had a really heavy accent and I couldn't understand, plus it's kind of loud in there.

I hate it when that happens because I feel like a jerk when all I do is smile or say "what?" more than once. Anyway, he was like

and clutching the handrails really tightly. He really seemed to enjoy it, though, because he was laughing and going "wheeee!" during the outside part. It was really funny!
After that, we headed back to the room. We had started carrying our mugs in our bags so that we were able to just pop (pun intended) by the food court after a park and fill our mugs, rather than having to trek back to the room to get it and then walk back.
Up next -- DHS for about five minutes, and yet MORE Mommy and Meg time at Epcot!
