AmyT's Journal (Comments Definitely Welcome!)

take it easy.....don't overdo it!!
you are still doing great on your food...still don't know how you do the 100 oz of water though!!

Well, the good news is that my shoulder feels WAY better today! :cool1: The bad news is that I was very, very naughty - I met DH and his friends for drinks and it was all downhill from there… It actually started when I picked up the kids – they don’t have school today so they had their Easter party yesterday, which of course means tons of candy. I ate 6 bite-sized chocolates (Snickers, Tootsie Rolls, Milky Way, etc). :guilty: At the bar, I had 4 martinis and a Red Headed Sl—(word for loose woman). :guilty: :guilty: We were there for 4 hours. I resisted all the appetizers, except a single spicy spring roll. :thumbsup2 But of course when we left at 8pm, I was starving! So DH and I went to one of our fave Mexican restaurants that is always too busy on the weekend. And of course we couldn’t NOT get a margarita… I had 2 seafood tacos (one shrimp, one salmon) and enough chips-n-salsa to end world hunger. :sad2: And after we got home, I raided DD’s basket and had 4 more bite-sized chocolates. :rolleyes: Do I feel bad about it? NOPE! I enjoyed every minute of it! :banana: Heck, my pants were tight already, I might as well get something out of it, right?!? :rotfl:

Tonight we are meeting some friends at an Italian restaurant. I’ve told myself NO bread w/butter. I have no idea what to have for dinner – everything is pretty calorie-dense there… I am definitely not drinking – I got my fill of that for a while… Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, 6 cocktails, :eek: and a DC:

6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
9:00am: FF Cottage Cheese (1/2c); Tropical Fruit Salad (1/2c); a piece of Passover candy a co-worker gave me (I was curious what it was like…)
11:45am: Chicken; Wheat Noodles; Green Beans; 2 Pretzels Rods
2:45pm: Egg Whites (2); LF String Cheese; Apple
3:45pm: Chocolatefest (6 minis)
6:30pm: Spicy Spring Roll
8:30pm: Chips-n-Salsa; Shrimp Taco w/Pineapple Salsa; Salmon Taco w/Mango Salsa; More Chocolate (4 minis)
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: Fried Mozzarella Sticks; Chicken Wings

Jane, I just need to be more patient. I am still going to go to the gym at least 3x a week, but I will be sure to take days off in between. Don't feel bad - I injured my neck washing my hair once...

Marie, betcha don't think I did great on my food yesterday! :teeth: You have to build up to the water consumption. I am going to try to drink at least 120oz today, to try to flush out all the alcohol and salt... That might be tough!

You've had one bad day.....I've had 2 bad weeks....nope....you still win!!
I'd kill for a margurita right now!!

You are making me hungry with the pineapple and mango salsas! I need to get some new recipes.

Sounds like you had a great day yesterday! What the heck kind of a drink is a red headed _? The drinks they come up with amaze me! I won't even order Sex on the Beach because I'm too darned embarassed to order it!

Monday's right around the corner - enjoy Easter and your weekend!

Yeah for you for enjoying the drinks! A nice margarita sounds really really good right about now!!

I didn't make it to the gym yesterday (WAY too tired, and when I got in the car after work, my gym bag wasn't there - must have been a subliminal message... :rolleyes: ). I did decent at the Italian place but we stopped at Baskin Robbins on our way home (I think there is something addicting added to their ice cream!). My shoulder is back to normal and I made it to On the Ball this morning. We did lots of arm work with the medicine ball and I was scared my shoulder would not be able to take it, but it was fine. :cool1: I'm glad I got it out of the way because later we have to go shopping for DS's b-day gifts (I can't believe he is going to be 10 - how is that possible?!?) and my cousin's baby shower. And once I start running around, going to the gym is the last thing on my mind! Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, AT LEAST 32oz of iced tea (I had 6 glasses at the restaurant but there was so much ice, I don't think there was more than 8oz in each glass), and a DC:

5:40am: Chocolate Oatmeal
8:30am: Balance Bar
11:45am: Ham-n-Pepper Jack on Wheat
3:00pm: Egg Whites (2); LF String Cheese; Tropical Fruit Salad
5:00pm: Almonds (1.2oz); LF Laughing Cow wedge; 2 Hershey Kisses :rolleyes1
6:45pm: Dinner Salad w/Italian dressing; Calamari (6 rings); Individual-Sized Buffalo Shrimp Pizza (5 of the 6 pieces - it sounded way better than it was)
9:00pm: Single Scoop Tea of Tranquility :cloud9:
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: More chocolate; Cone and Double Scoop at Baskin Robbins

Marie, I've been there, done that with the 2 bad weeks! It is so easy to get off track and so hard to get back on. But you can do it!

Jane, the martinis I had were SO good! They were peach vodka, Chambord, Sweet-n-Sour and Pineapple Juice. The Red Headed S*#@ has Jaegermeister (I know, sounds gross) and something else in it. It is a dark purple-red. You can't taste any alcohol, but it is potent! Watch out for the chocolate bunnies!

Beth, this place (Tia Rosa) makes some awesome margaritas! DH actually had 2 drinks with dinner last night - NO THANKS! :smokin:

Don't tell me that your oldest has a birthday this month too. My oldest is going to be 21 this week - kinda wish it were 10 - that was alot more fun. At ds age gift shopping is a breeze - they just want money! I miss the shopping for gifts. Amy, enjoy your time with your son now! (I know, I know everyone says it - but thats only 'cuz its true! I never believed it when my kids were young.)

I've heard of Jaegermeister but I have no idea what it is. I only know that its strong and spring breakers drink it! No wonder why you're having such a great weekend! :thumbsup2

Happy Easter!

I've been out of touch for a while with spring break. Hope you are doing well! :sunny:

Happy Easter Amy!!

Jaegermeister.....oh my.....I broke 3 fingers on my 21st birthday thanks in part to Jaegermeister!!! of course tequila and sambuca had a hand in it too!!
oh, have you ever had a Jaegerbomb?? (Jaegermeister and red bull....I only had it once and didn't remember anything for 2 days!!)
Thank goodness I'm older and wiser now....i stick w/ margaritas, & rum & cokes!!

Happy Birhday to your son!!! Enjoy the party!!

marie

Boy oh boy am I drifting off track... I really need to get focused again. Just because I am bloated doesn't mean I should add some REAL weight gain to the mix! And I have already been bad today - I have a feeling I should just start fresh tomorrow... Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 8oz NF Chai, 1.5 glasses of Mango Wine and a Diet Tangerine Rite (not bad!):

9:00am: Egg Beaters w/Cheese; All Bran Yogurt Bites w/Skim Milk
11:30am: Kashi Crunch; FF Yogurt
3:00pm: Ham-n-Jack on Wheat; Cheez-Its (1.5 servings); 2 Graham Crackers
5:00pm: 15 Jelly Beans
6:30pm: Salmon; Spanish Rice (3/4c); Broccoli; 3/4 Mounds Egg
9:00pm: 1/2 bag microwave Kettle Corn
WORKOUT: On the Ball (60min); Elliptical (35min)
RESISTED: More Jelly Beans; Another Mounds Egg

Jane, DS's b-day is April 23. I think the whole party thing isn't "cool" for him anymore. He just wants to have a couple friends over instead of having a party somewhere (we were thinking he'd love the laser tag place - no problem, it saves us tons of $$!). He wanted the Narnia DVD and a $90 Star Wars Lego set. Since he's been pretty good this year (only 2 trips to the principal! :teeth: ) we got him those 2 things, plus another Star Wars Lego thing. If your DS is turning 21, I bet you will find out what Jaegermeister is really soon! I'm sure he knows... :rolleyes:

Kate, nice to see you back! I hope you enjoyed your Spring Break!

Marie, I'd be embarrassed to tell you that I must not have learned my lesson in college... :rolleyes1 We went camping last year and I didn't think I drank that much but the whole world was spinning. It was AWFUL! I couldn't sit, couldn't stand, definitely couldn't lie down. I told DH it was all his fault - he was making the drinks... ;) Yep, that's me - responsible mother of 2!

I just got caught up with you (haven't been visiting WISH with all my beagle woes :sad2: ) and I am cracking up with your cocktail hour tale! You sound like me, give me a few drinks and I am going to have to have some Mexican food! Glad your shoulder is better!

OK, I've gotten it out of my system. I ate SO MUCH JUNK!!!!!!! And no exercise to boot... But today I am dedicated and will stay on track all week. That is my goal... My kids came home with SO MUCH JUNK!!!!! (that must be the theme of this posting). We made sure to not get a bunch of candy, but they were at their dad's and not only did they get them a whole basket full, but they sent it home with them... I will have to sort through it tonight because 90% of it is getting tossed (whether they like it or not!). Yesterday I drank 100oz of water; 2 glasses Reisling, 8oz NF Chai, Diet Rite:

8:30am: Egg Beaters w/Cheese; All Bran Yogurt Bites w/Skim; 6 Jelly Beans
11:00am: Toast-n-Butter (1 ea Blueberry Crumble & Brown Sugar Cinnamon :cloud9: ); 20 Jelly Beans
2:00pm: Balance Bar
3:30-5:00pm: Miscellaneous Easter goodies
5:00pm: Chicken Junk; Corn; 2 small rolls; Broccoli Salad (1c); Blackberry Cheesecake :cloud9: :cloud9:
WORKOUT: None
RESISTED: Another piece of cheesecake (actually I brought one home and don't know what to do with it since I shouldn't be eating it!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy, I'm sorry to hear you are having such a rough time with your dog. :grouphug:
I don't think they even made Jaegermeister when I was in college! I think I'll stick with my Long Island Iced Teas! At least they taste good.
Amy, this week has been horrendous for me too. I've been horrible with the sweets. There's just no stopping it. I swear this holiday was worse than Christmas, New Years & Valentines combined.
Ds birthday is April 21st. My Dad's was the 23rd. Dad was hoping ds would be born on his birthday. I don't know about you but I think that people born in April are very stubborn!
I hear ya with the bloat. My size 12 pants were tight today!
I behaved foodwise for the most part. I did have the last piece of blackberry cheesecake. I just couldn’t bear to throw it out! I have less than 3 weeks before we leave for Mexico. It’s crunch time! At this point, I am still totally disgusted with my appearance and will probably only take 1-piece swimsuits (unless some miracle happens between now and then!). DS’s team lost last night. I am kinda glad, since they were getting a little cocky about being undefeated. They lost by 1 last-minute run… Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, 16oz iced green tea and a DC:
6:20am: Chocolate Oatmeal
8:45am: Balance Bar
12:15pm: Chicken; Wheat Noodles; Broccoli
2:30pm: Egg Whites (2); LF String Cheese; Apple
6:30pm: 2 pieces homemade Pepperoni Pizza; 1 piece Blackberry Cheesecake; 6 Mini Robin Eggs (Whoppers)
WORKOUT: Walking (40min); Weights (30min); Treadmill (35min)
RESISTED: Easter basket goodies; post-workout/pre-dinner snacking
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane, stubborn does not even come close to describing DS! He is such a pill. DH was born on April 2 and he is fine - must be close enough to March to not count... :rotfl: We need to get re-focused! I made each kid pick 1/2 of the stuff they wanted from their baskets and the other half went to work with DH. And I think every night I will take a couple things out of their basket (they'll never know) and throw it out...

Those Whoppers are evil aren't they!! Man, I just can't resist them!!
I think you did great w/ your food intake, and good job sending the sweets to work...out of sight, out of stomach!!! :teeth:

Have a great day and keep up the good work!! You'll look and feel great for you upcoming trip!! :sunny:

marie

I send excess sweets to work with DH too! :teeth: He puts them in the kitchen area or in a bowl on his desk and others eat it (or so he says!)

I've reading through your journal looking for ideas for myself. Your food intake is wonderful.

Don't you just love it when well meaning people give your kids a bunch of candy? I only gave my kids one chocolate bunny for Easter since I knew others would likely give them candy too! Sounds like your food is on track. Wow three weeks to Mexico! You will be ready to lay on the beach with a drink and relax I am sure. Keep up the good work and don't be so hard on yourself. Great job with having your hubby take the candy into work.

Today’s official weigh-in was 138. I am a little ticked since I was 137 yesterday, and besides the small handful of Mini Whopper Eggs, I did not eat anything bad. I still have the blubber ring around the middle. It has been 4 weeks since the surgery, and if what my mom said is true, I might have to wait 6 more weeks for it to get better… So there’s no use dwelling on it, even though it’s always on my mind. :sad2: No workout yesterday – I will have Tue and Thu off this week. I plan on going to the gym classes this weekend. Yes, even TBK followed by Abs-n-Buns Torture on Sunday… Yesterday I drank 100oz of water, 2 cups green tea, and a DC:

6:15am: Chocolate Oatmeal
9:00am: FF Cottage Cheese; Strawberries w/Splenda
11:45am: Chicken; Wheat Noodles; Green Beans
3:00pm: Egg Whites (2); LF String Cheese; Apple
6:45pm: Beef Stroganoff; Wheat Egg Noodles; Peas; SF Pudding; 20 Mini Whopper Eggs
WORKOUT: Walking (40min)
RESISTED: More Easter basket goodies; pre-dinner snacking
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Marie, Whoppers ARE evil! That is why I don't have them around. DD finished hers yesterday, but DS still has some in his basket. I wish he'd hurry up and eat them so I don't have to see them anymore!
CACruisin, I don't think DH has a problem getting rid of the candy, which is nice. I also have the option of bringing it here (we have a breakroom), but of course that means it is still in my face...
Amy, I don't think my ex-husband falls into the "well-meaning people" crowd... :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: I can't wait to go to Mexico. It is so relaxing...
Hi Amy,
Once again I have been MIA...sorry about that. Just getting caught up again....I think you are doing a great job....even with the candy around. DH decided Saturday that we needed to go get candy....so off to Walmart...the good news is that we got all chocolate....I don't like chocolate so all is good!!!
Don't be too hard on yourself...138 that is not bad....you will be back down in no time!!! You will look great in Mexico..
Have a great day :)
Oh Mexico is getting so close!!!
Glad you had a nice Easter, and good for getting rid of the candy. I gave in and pigged out, now back to work!!
