Hello everyone, I am new to this whole journal thing, so please excuse any posting faux pas I may make!
A little about myself - I am a 33 year old mother of 2 (DS9 and DD6). I am 5'4" and currently weigh 138. I have been steadily gaining weight for the past 18 months
I eat pretty healthy (rarely have fried foods, etc) and I exercise regularly (3-4x a week on the elliptical for 40 min, occasional Pilates & ball work). My problem is obsessive SNACKING! I swear, sometimes I feel like I have some sort of mental problem
I am fine at work, no temptations, no snacks other than fruit or carrot sticks. But when I come home, LOOK OUT!!!!!
I want to eat everything and anything in sight. I have tried drinking water, eating rice cakes, eating fruit, taking a nap, but nothing helps. I am really bad about coming home and pigging out after working out. It's not that I'm hammering down a pint of Ben & Jerry's (although I could!) but it is the sheer volume of food I am consuming!
For example, yesterday when I got home, I ate 2 white cheddar rice cakes. Then about 1/2 hour later I had a piece of string cheese. Then about 1/2 hour after that I had a small piece of chocolate and 2 LARGE handfuls of mixed nuts. Then about 1/2 hour later I had dinner (Hamburger Helper, which is about the unhealthiest dinner I make, plus I don't make it often - maybe once every 3 months). After dinner I had a serving of fat-free pudding made w/skim milk. Then I snacked on some Dreyer's low fat sherbet & ice cream... See what I mean?!? And don't even get me started on the weekends!!!!!!
I will lose about 3 lbs during the course of the week, then gain every ounce back during the weekend. It is not good for my body, plus I have to get this snacking problem under control. I hope there is someone else that reads my journals who has overcome this same affliction. I would be SO thankful to hear I'm not alone!!
This week I am doing a modified Special K diet to try to counteract overeating from last weekend... I am going on vacation starting Saturday July 2nd (to MI to visit relatives) but I will try to keep up my journal while I am gone. I mostly plan on keeping track daily of my eating and exercise. Who knows, maybe accountability is all it will take to get my mind where it needs to be!

Currently I weigh myself in the morning, when I get home from work, and before I go to bed
I know all about daily weight fluctuations, and how it is normal, and I dont know WHY I do it, because all it does is upset me! I already weighed myself this morning (137), so NO MORE until tomorrow! I can do it!
All right!
But then they came across the loudspeaker and said that it was designed to do that, just in case it doesn't get enough speed to make it up the hill. They spent about 45 minutes testing it, then it started right back up. I went on it once, I think I can live my life without ever going on it again
My favorite is a tie between Millenium Force and Raptor. We plan on doing 1 day at the water park and 1 day at the main park. I can't wait!!!!
). If it is like that again, we are going to skip the water park and do the main park for 2 days
BUT, again the main goal is to LAY OFF the chocolate covered frozen bananas, ice cream sandwiches and fried foods... I know I will be walking all day, but that is a decrease in exercise for me since I work out at the gym all the time... I WILL BEHAVE THIS TIME!!!!!
Check the weather. It's 10 degrees chillier because it's by Lake Erie, FYI. Just choose one food (like something you can't get come heck or high water in AZ, like I always get chili cheese fries or soft pretzels), and enjoy it. Do that every day. All of those foods will still be there when you come back next year.
I'd go grab something while he'd be in the garage and he'd always come back and say "What are you eating?!?" He just wants to help me out and is always telling me to have some grapes or an apple or something. But you know when that snacking obsession kicks in, grapes just won't cut it! I also need to stop because I was sneaking around so my kids wouldn't see. I don't want them to pick up any bad eating habits from me!
Thanks for all your encouragement everyone!
